Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #51 visit with friends...

Glenview, IL

Happy afternoon everyone!

Well too a go portion of my morning reading the thread.
Ohwah, lots to catch up on.

Bev and Ves, Your Yellow and Pink Lilies are lovely.

Bev, sounds like you are enjoying the daylight out of your little newcomer.
Yep, watch out for those little sharp claws of hers…razor sharp.
Watching her is good for both you and Scotty. Was really glad he fell in love with the kitten. So sweet, to hear he/she(?) enjoys taking a little snooze on your tummy and chest…Aw just love the soothing sound of a purring kitten.

Ves, I so understand the issue with your Coons and Deer. Yikes, I am so aggrevated with them I just plain have given up. Didn’t plant anything, Everything I did have planted has been eaten…including my day lilies now, just the other day!! My Black Jade Sedum, has been chewed to nothing 3 times now, My Lily had three Stalks all gone, Well I’ll stop boohooing over it not much I can do at this point. Sooo, I am enjoying all of yours and everyones.

GG…Was excited to see how the puppies have grown. Wow, amazing how quickly they get so big! Soon you’ll have a Puppy to bring home. Have you decided on her name yet.
Think I am voting for Belle.

Ruby, Wow…hard to believe you have only been gardening for three years. Your written description of your gardens had me envisioning your beautiful gardens, and then to my delight you posted pictures and I am simply awed with what you and John have created.
I told you before and I say it again, What a Wonderful view you have with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the backround of your gardens Breathtaking. Thank you for sharing words and pictures, truly I have enjoyed both.

Carol, I was so glad you enjoyed your visit in London with your sister. I’ve told you I love the photo of you two giggling in the pool. Now, I must say, lol since I have read the thread again…You new statue of Beth is devine. She looks right at home amongst the hostas. What a beautiful touch to your splendid gardens…Oh Enjoy your company today.

Oh Golly, Sister Dawn!! Although I am so glad you enjoyed the Jacuzzi, but geesh didn’t anyone ever tell you not to play out in lighteneing??? Yikes, so glad you got out of there, lol if I was there you wouldn’t have been in there in the first place, lol the mom (and chicken) in me would have shagged you out the instant I heard thunder. But I am glad you are getting rain. Must help cool things down a bit, Well now, bummer you are feeling down today. Sending a hug and some good vibes your way.

Laura, So nice to see you…you asked what I do, do you mean as far as crafts?...Well, I like to sew, I make baby blankets on sewing machine and hand embroider an easy pattern.
Also enjoy embellishing pictures with beads and such. But do enjoy trying things out and got to laugh because I have found I am no carpenter, artist(painter) and now decided that pottery is just not my fortay eighther. And wait till I tell you all about out cement making, fair warning be prepared to have a good laugh! But I am willing to try anything once, as long as it doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg, lolol. Anyway, it is so nice to see that your quilting is coming along s nicely. Isn’t it exciting to get to the end, you probably just want to get it finished now so you can see how beautiful. I can’t wait…LOL hurry hurry.

Well gosh I’ve been writing for a long time here…Hope I didn’r miss anyones post.

Got to Say Hi to Cat, Jaye, Where is Marion?
Paul, and Herbie too.

Also keeping Rachael, oh did you know Her and Carol share a birthday at the end of this month? Tropicanna, and still to this day I think of our Tangigirl. I hope you are all doing well and just busy.

And of course Our Betty!!! Miss you already. You all must meet Betty. You are such a loving lady, I am so glad your neighbors show you such loving friendship. LOL, you are just adorable, never have I felt such ease in meeting two people. I have been telling everyone here it was wonderful to finally meet you both in person, I felt as I have known you my whole life. Lets see, I looked a both discs yesterday had no problems what so ever. Heavy sigh that it didn’t work for you…again.

Hey Liz, Whatchya doing? I am glad only 2 bottles broke, wish none had. Miss you too.
Saw that deer yesterday too. Jumped the fence and then got spooked and jumped the other fence. LOL, keeping my eyes wide open for the large ants.

Hi ya Shar…Hoping you are doing well, working in your garden, writing the stories.
And of course enjoying the weather. Got a beautiful breeze happening here.

Well now…Will continue story later with a few pics. Actually have work that I could do while reading

Hope you all are having a good evening.

Betty, Your gardens are absolutley lovely. I am already excited for your garden party next year!! You have won Steves Heart over. ROFL like that should surprise me. heheh, I think it surprised him.

So here is another part of my Dream Vacation...LOL always best to start at the beginning.

As I pondered of how all this came to be, I must giggle as I recalled a phone conversation between Liz and I. We should run away together. Just like the real Thelma and Louise! Haha, we were both , uh...little bit aggetated with our DH's ay the time. So this all started with being a playful joke. So as our conversation went on, We decided we were going to meet up and drive to Betty's. We were just going to do it, and surprise Betty! Well, what a bummer bubbles were burst. Neighther one of us had propper documentation. So..we continued to laugh and giggle how fun it would be to meet! Owah! To the most wonderful words I can read on a tiny little screen. Liz txted me asking what I thought of July 7-14 would be. Rolflol, think I replied HOT! got to laugh again, she says no silly I mean to meet. She could get a vacation in, aaand found a round trip ticket too, asked me if she should book it!! OK heart beating fast, I txt while jumping up and down smiling and giggling said...Are you kidding?? BOOK IT! OMG all that while...OMG got to laugh out loud, shaking my head too, cuz I was Driving home!!! LOL, was also thinking what kind of question is that? heheh, boy was I excited! Called Steve immediatley and said we are having company. He says who? I tell him almost out of breath a mile a minute Liz, Lizrainey from the Garden. LOL, could just picture him taking off his Property Prep cap, scratching his had too, lol. OK, he says be sure to mark it on the calander. You Bet, I say!
Thats how my truley wonderful dream began. Thank you Liz. Was indeed a pleasure to spend time with you. Not long enough.
LOL, Ask Kenny if he's sure he don't want to move right now. Open homes here, hmmmm.

...You have read Liz and Betty's post so now I would like to tell you some behind the "post scenes" hehehe, Yes I am a brat!

As you know, I think everything happens for a reason. Tuesday Liz and I went shopping. We went to a place way out in timbuc too.LOL the boonies to me. While we were watching for the Cospro beauty supply I spot this place, a garden, tour hmmm, we think we'll stop on the way back. We didn't. Had a full day of running around.

As I drove a road I really never go down too far...I smiled as Liz was amazed at how green everything was. Pleasantly pleased she was enjoying the ride, we chatted of the flowers and such. We found the store. Ves, am sorry to say I had an allergic reaction so color didn't take. But was fun to try...to me, I've considered Liz a sister for quite a while, hahah, you all are too..heheh, I heard, Hands on hip here, there was plan on hair cut and color. Ummmm, as you guessed none was made. simple, lol Shar, stop shaking your head. You all have seen it in the picture of the three Amigos....I got to tell you all, That was so cute you dubbed us that! Smiling as I recall reading.

We found the place...then we went to the other stores..Stopped at the local Ace Hardware ( ma & pa) kind of place. Talked us into getting sand concrete? Dunno, will tell you about that later. In the end Store was JoAnnes and what do think we saw there?? ROFLOL...A Cospro!! LOL right in my back yard. Had to laugh again. Well came home, Liz made a scrumptious uh, Beef dinner! Steve most excited he didn't have to cook!, lol me too.

That was Tuesday, when we got home Liz showed me how to make those really cute fortune cookies. Of Course, I podged them, lol she rolled her eyes. We giggled some more. If you think she's dancing eyes...Yep sure does and laughter makes light up in dance some more!

We also read Betty was for sure coming on Wednesday. Woohoo...Couldn't wait! In the morning we decided to have a Lunch. So Liz buizied herself with making a potatoe salad. Verrry intent on the proper ingredients...was fun watching her shop for stuff.
So while making the salad, I tried to busy my self too. You know picked up the cluttered house. Got to laugh, and shake head too. Betty came too a nightmare.. OMG! So, as i picked up trying to declutter, I am all the while pacing to kitchen window for a the sunbusrt vehicle!
12 noon came...Liz still cooking...look out window...maybe if i go out front. Hmmm no Betty! Checkked thread again to see if a post was made....OK! Should be on her way, dang, should have d-mailed my number. Walk through Kitchen again. Whoohoo up pulls the orange sunburst andf I hollar She's Here....Poor Liz, Away I ran all the way to Betty!!

Just then! Right there in my driveway..We just smiled and hugged in greeting. Was the the most tremendous feeling. LOL. Then we hugged again. As, our second hug was made, here came Liz, smiling and ready for hug too. What a beautiful greeting. It was for the three of us! Very Special, and I have got to say, as Betty did, there was no "stranger" feeling what so ever. Just a loving connection between friends. A spectacular feeling to my heart, one I've not felt since I last hugged my sister Carol Bear.

As you know We ran off after visiting a bit. So I was told another surprise for ME! Betty brought me the most beautiful Ardioch chair. Her work of art!! LOL She has said I loved it! Um an understatement there. Look at the detail of her art! Daisies, my all time favorite. They are so pretty dancing in the breeze with bright yellow/orangie faces, always bring a smile.
LOL, Julia, DD#1 was summons to help, while I had to hold hands over my eyes, and I did too! DD#1 ran away saying oh she's gonna cry, I was so so surprided and yes choked up until she said that! Then regained composure mighty quick...
Betty had painted, hands on hip here, you probably already know. LOL..I am delighted to share. On the theft arm, is a white flower with a intricate dragon fly over it and a pair of pruning shears. On the right! OMG, looks like I took off my left glove. I am left handed and placed on the the arm of the chair! there are seed packages, one of purple and Daisies! That package reads Judy's Daisies. Can you feel my smile! Thank you Betty, OM Gosh!! Know one but you and me has sat in my chair...OHWAH!!! The back of chair has a gorgeous bouquet of Daisies!!

LOL, Betty DID indead rest after, I am sure a horrifing tour of my jungle and eaten weeds! Asked her if she was dissapointed. LOL you know Betty. Well that made me feel better cuz, well I did warn ya's..LOL.

You all saw the picture of the three of us, So here is Betty relaxing! LOL needed a sit down after my tour.
Got to laugh again.

I love that chair and that color too, is it aqua? Well, they are my favorite outdoor chairs.

Judy I got tears in my eyes hearing your story and your true joy. I would have loved that, especially with Bettys cold packs. lol

Glenview, IL

In the mean time...My package had finally arrived! Woohoo! I unwrapped the cutest Porcelin doll from Liz's shelf! LOL I noticed her immediately. She reminded me of my breenie girl as a young child! Plus...the drilled pots and alagater boots for little pot person!~ We were both excited. That was that night. As Liz did, Betty met everyone as they came in.
DH bbq some brats and dogs. Well thats was quick!! We enjoyed the evening chatting in the kitchen and watching Betty finish all of our Coolent Bandanas! So funny, she could hardly wait to get to work too! Big smile right at home.

Dawn, We chatted the evening after Brats about each of you. You all were truley with us. Smiles, laughter and hugs were thought of. You all were with us in one way or another, and thinking we are arewe blessed to know each other.

So..Sweet we Have Betty to thank for starting B,L & W ...

Hugs sweetie, how are you doing?

Glenview, IL

In the same Day as Betty arrived, we hit up JoAnnes fabrics and Home Depot...Laughed as it all our favorite store.
Zoomed around looking for cement. On the way, Awed a beautiful pond, Three tiered! Liz, rescued a tree cutting end of a limb, from my Burn pile. So, she was searching for a specific plant to create an air kind of plant. Well didn't have one. But will keep the piece. Sounds like it will be a great addition to garden!..LOL she is always keeping me busy!

We finally had to ask a very nice guy where the real Cement was...Betty is awsom with that! Was so funny, we shook our heads no system worked, hahaha, not even the self serve! can only laugh at that.

It was getting late and both Liz and Betty were tired. We laughed everytime the time was announced! ROLFLOL...Three different time, my time, two hours prior and and hour later!! Geesh, Was i confused. So we all bought watches...heheh, you saw them...but that was a bit later.

Well now what I have neglected to tell you so far is Betty'Company! Hey all Meet Thelma. She is the GPA system. Wow, Liz and iI started plotting almost immediatley on how we could obtain such a toy of direction! LOL...We rolled laughing. Betty had inadverdently punched home. So we were travelling to my home and the GPS quickly re-calculated to Betty's! OMG, Thelma told Betty to make a SAFE ILLEGAL U TURN!! hahah, so funny. still loving that toy...think everyone should have her! What a fantastic devise. LOL, Shar< might warn you on rose loving giant policeman. heheh. They run on Cigarette lighter and satelite!! Too cool. Thelma tells all too. Street names, how far and too cool if there is a fair some where..She tells where there is water...Gosh Yep, I need one of those.

Best part is: "Thelma" tells with a ding even, when destination has been arrived! SWEET!

heheh, love ya Thelma:--Louise!

Pacifica, CA

morning all,

betty, wishing you good luck on test today!!! hope all is ok, oh before i forget, dh says thank you for the coolant, very thoughtful, and he saw what you made and said you are by far a very talented lady!

ha ha judy, the cement leaves.. holy cow what a comotion at least judys son came to the rescue he pounded and got it all out for us it had molded itself to the wheel barrel all i could think of was oh are we going to get in trouble!!

but we did now that i think of it! lol, after cleanning out the wheel barrel, we went to get the good bag of cement and low and behold the bag broke and down it went to the deck so we scrambled to get it all in the barrel before steve saw it lol.

we moved to the open area to mix but it was soupy i started to add more old concrete mix oh no then judy asked steve he had some quick set so we added it and it worked ! yaaaaa we could continue!
we made leaf after leaf but there was quite a bit of concrete left so made frogs and a turtle not to waste any more.
ahhh all done, judy was talking to shar on the phone, steve came out and said look at this my deck is ruined! i just finished oiling the deck its trashed, i told him the bag broke, we rinsed it down, then he said you should of done this out there, but but the bag broke???
i immediatly bee lined out frount where judy was telling her ummmm trouble!
she said dont worry "dont worry" im sweating this one out till she comes in the back cause im not going there without her lol

but all was good he cleaned it up deck looked good once again pheeeew lol
so betty you missed the antics for this.

ok boo hoo vacation officially over! oh i dont want to go to work why cant it be 2023 :( then i could play all day lol ok complaing over.

Well you have been chatty and Judy you described our venture perfectly...SIL Suzanne asked me the same question, 'isn't it odd to be staying at strangers homes, people you've never met' but indeed we have met, we've bonded and from pictures, voices of telephone calls, etc. it was as though we knew each other and our ways forever and a day...so enjoyed it...should be an easy day today, probably be back from the Dr.'s by 2 and then I'll have 5 hrs. to play outside if weather co-operates until the painting girls arrive...

Judy know that you saw me rest more in those 3 days than I have in a few years...lol....glad you liked the chair...now sit and enjoy!!!!

Judy you left out the fun day we had Friday...we were up early and I suggested we find a Cracker Barrel for breakfast (Liz wasn't overly excited about this) and Judy said it was quite a distance from her house...hey, for a girl that travels 100 miles one way to work, going 1/2 hr.-45 min. for breakfast is nothing..so off we went..passing through a village they were setting up tents...AHHHH my mind was working overtime..just think we could stop on our way home and buy some 'treasures' ...so onward we go and we arrive at the restaurant and all 3 are shopping like crazy....yep, Liz enjoyed this little stop...but her wallet didn't I'm sure...lol so now I'm excited about the vendors half way home so we get parked and walk to this parket where a band is playing ...but as we arrive to the side, many people are coming out of the building..it's a library but how many times do small communities have inside vendors as well...now my adrenaline is working overtime...this young man about 13 is coming out and (this one is for you Judy) I ask 'could you tell me if there is anything inside the building?' simple question right, might be baked goods, garage sale items who knows, but he looks me straight in the eye, I think in awe of my question not knowing what I was expecting and said 'yes, books' so we all began to laugh/laugh..got my answer...so, down the sidewalk we went and there had to be hundreds of people all sitting under large shaded trees, sitting in chairs they had brought from home, enjoying the most serene day..absolutely fantastic to see and all the vendors setting up were food vendors...awww no crafts, but it was nice to see a community come together...so Judy asked some of the people what the celebration was and they said that every Friday at 11:00 different bands come to play and they all come to enjoy the day...almost think they close their small town, infact a few stores were closed....

Then while travelling Judy had said and I didn't quite catch it, that we would go see the lovely flowers and I thought she said nursery, so we're travelling and she says there is the mansion so I just keep motoring, probably about 20 minute drive, and I say I'm still looking for the nursery and she says 'you've passed it long ago, thought you didn't want to go when you drove by' dah/dah double day lol, so turned around and we went to see the most breathtaking mansion with grounds to die for, took a tour of the mansion...OMG one can't imagine people living in such wealth...then there was a hothouse filled with tropical plants that would take your breath away...so by the time we got home Steve had just called to say he was on his way...Judy had plans of what was to be made for supper but Liz and I had other plans...off we went and picked up supper so we could have a leisurely night together...while waiting for Steve, Judy had made a beautiful birdhouse and painted flowers on it...am sure Liz fell in love with it, but me being me, and the girls wanting a few tips, I showed them how to highlight and shade for a few hours...that was fun..having a brush in my hand..lol...

It was too bad to have to leave so soon but it would have been too hard to drive straight back Sunday and back to work Monday..so all went went...I was right at home on my visit..you know you are at home when you open the refrigerator to get something out...isn't that the truth???

Guess by the time you've concluded I didn't go to work this morning..decided for 2 1/2 hrs. I wasn't driving 3 1/2..so e-mailed Paul to say that while Suzanne and I were talking on the way home she mentined that perhaps the catscan I had Tuesday should be drummed up so the specialist will also have the info..sooo that is what I will do..waiting for 9am for my family physician office to open and I'll see what I can do..

Had a terrible storm roll through at 2am..was up with Sailor (rather awake with the odd words of endearment and petting her) until it was out of our region by about 4:30..can't have had much rain though because both front and back deck floormats are dry...

Went on back deck to say 'hello world' only to find a mole laying there, Missy was hunting again, picked it up..doing a Liz..eeewwww....and then I no sooner picked it up, she comes up the steps with a bird...I just hate this 'mother nature' thing....

Well better get dressed, have breakfast...and enjoy the morning...I'll not leave until 12:45 unless I have to pick up results at the doctors'.....

Enjoy your morning...

I'm loving all your stories girls.
Yes, Judy..we saw "your" chair in progress..LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

morning Carol, are you getting the heat and humidity they are calling for today? Now that your gardens are mature do you have much gardening to do on a daily basis other than cutting the grass?

Came back to say, and will probably say it tomorrow and Friday as well as I'm so confused with the actual birthday time in Australia...

Don't want to miss wishing you a Happy Birthday Laura, will pray that this upcoming year will bring you all the joy and love that you deserve...love you girl!!!!

(Cathy), MO

Good morning everyone. And I'm loving the stories too! So glad you all got to spend a little time together.

Have a good day everyone

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Morning Betty,
It is 24c. here right now..rain this morning but sun is out drying things out now. It is calling for 31c this afternoon though.
I bought a few more plants and I have to put them in yet.

I do the deadheading everyday..and pull a few weeds as I walk around.

Speaking of cutting the grass...I just bought a new riding mower yesterday afternoon.
The brakes went on the little John Deere just as I finished the front lawn. So I said that is enough! It is 12 years old now..and it is gving me problems. I need a reliable mower. I am very excited about getting it.

Happy Birthday Laura....enjoy every minute of it.

Cheers,
Carol
P.S. my friend took this yesterday..daylily Patricia Fay opened and it matched my t-shirt..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Weather is same here Carol..can't wait to get back home from Penetanguishine and enjoy the aft. humidity and all..with your deadheading, do you save them all and scatter for seeds in fall and spring..I had great success doing that last year..of course my gardens are not manicured gardens they are helter skelter english type garden..flowers everywhere..lol so it worked for me..still couldn't find those hollyhock seeds..need some for fall as all that sod I put along the back of the property might do well with growth such as hollyhocks/daisies etc. but let's not get ahead of ourselves...lol

A new tractor, how wonderful..was thinking of getting one myself...would make life simpler or not as Kathy keeps cutting my lawn every Thursday...wish it was on Friday..love fresh cut grass for the weekend...aren't I terrible...she fits it into her plan...

My thoughts are to get back to work on the faux windows for the shed, the mileage signs etc. - would like to see that project behind me by fall, so this weekend although I have a due on Sat. I have the weekend to do nothing, well not nothing but something to relax me...

Jeff just called, called to wish me luck and said if I needed him this aft. to call..said can't, you have an appt. with Uncle Paul, Robert Distefano (mortgage financier) and another businessman...luckily I told him, Paul had forgotten to send him an e-mail...since Paul has had his snowmobile accident his memory isn't quite as sharp..still sharper than most but not quite as it was...so hopefully for them as it means big income it will happen this aft.

Made me promise to call him regardless...kids...you got to love them...

Just took a quick ride to post office to find a trash to treasure parcel sent from Florida...was made with my cold stormy winters in mind...can light a t-lite on a cold night..creative, great way to use up old beadwork/necklaces etc.

Thinking of you Betty. Please let us know how things turn out

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do, trying to pass the morning flittering here and there, just went and cut 2 bouquets of flowers...lordy if I keep this up it will look like a 'funeral parlor'...joking of course, nothing like sweet smell of flowers...went and checked on my lily.. just opening, perhaps warm weather today will encourage it and I can take photo..the others that are open don't have much of a scent...must try and remember the difference...came downstairs to get paints, gardens are still quite wet so will occupy myself trying to finish a flower pot swap I have on another thread...a little behind but by weekend all my commitments will be done and probably posted...

Good Morning Everyone,

Betty, will be watching for your post this afternoon. Hope all goes well with catscan. Winging up some prayers.
Glad you enjoyed the morning stroll.

Carol, Yayay on getting new riding lawn mower. will be fun to cruise around the secret garden and get the chore of grass cutting done at the same time.

Maaan, Liz...forgot cell phone today! LOL, pouting.

Well, I am hoping you are all having a sunshiney day! A glorious summer day here.

Be back in a bit to tell some more of our visit.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yours truly is not a happy camper right now...just had my bath, did my nails, got prettied up and ready to leave...Dr.'s office called, he's doing a 'life threatening' operation right now and won't be in the office today..rescheduled to next Wednesday...

As much as I'm truly disappointed in this, I can imagine the family of the individual who is fighting for their life...prayers for the doctor's hands to have the ability to save the life....

So might as well get undressed, into gardening clothes and mellow out...

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Betty that is a good idea to get all your tests together if possible. Your stories all made me feel like I was laughing right along with you guys, sweating and eating, crafting and more laughing.

Sounds so wonderful. I am that way too, if I met any of you, I would not feel like you were strangers at all, especially because everyone here is so open about their life, the past and daily routines. We worry together and support each other through good and bad times.

Not strangers by any means.

Glenview, IL

Yep Dawn, you hit that right on the head.

Aw Betty, prayer said for the life threatening patient.
...Well yes, just enjoy the afternoon.

Ok, Betty i was working my way to Friday, LOL i am still on beginning of the week.
So i have already passed the goings on about Monday through Wednesday. Time simply flew by! Liz and I also made a batch of leaves with the Sand Cement.
We were so proud of them, Giggling out loud, Liz gets mighty upset with herself while working on projects. We each made one big leaf and a frog. I made one of those concaved ones. Wednesday morning we were excited to flip them over, and what a big bummer they broke!! When Betty arrived, we showed her our broken leaves (lol just like little kids) first thing she said...Well first of all, stepping stones have to be thicker! ok head down lip hanging out, lol...nevermind off to see something else...but our frogs turned out real cute!

Too cute.

Thursday Morning, We woke pretty early as Steve's work buddy was coming and we were going to follow them in Betty's car. I was not to worry so, just my luck Betty had a garden magazine in the seat so I busied myself with that. LOL, only freaked once when a car went speeding in front of us. We kept up with Steve pretty well. LOL, Blabbing the whole way got a tad bit side tracked and was following a white van! Hahah, who knows where we would have ended up if i didn't say Hey betty Steve's over there. Woosh, zoom over to play catch up. When we arrived at the building the guys went up Liz too to use the restroom.
Then they came down and we went in search for the Morton Mansion. Could quite locate it at first so we enjoyed the stroll in the quiet downtown neighborhood. We were looking at one of the buildings, There were several construction workers out sitting on the steps have a break. We we were looking and pointing and they were watching us. Betty gives them a big smile and explains We are not staring at you handsome Gentlemen we are looking at this building! Got to smile at her open friendliness.
We then proceeded on to the Johnhancock building. DH stil has access to the building as he has a contractor admit card. So He escorted us up to the 34th floor for a beautiful view.
(hope this is right.) This is a view of Navy Pier

LOL, I took 114 picture of downtown Chicago!
We had lots of fun walking around, admiring all the gardens.
LOL, I have been downtown millions of time and only have a handful of pitures. So, said Hey I am on vacation too. Snapped away at all the buildings, signs, variety of statues and gardens, my I was having a ball.

Judy so laughing at you guys and your cement..Liz was also having fits the morning it had rained and between us we dropped the cement bag on the decking..lol..but WE got it cleaned and washed off before Steve had a look...

Well your little timer Angel came in handy..set it on when I did the pie crust..worked like a charm..lol..

Darlene, who calls me almost every night said her hubby was picking up pizza for themselves for supper tonight and not for me to cook anything as he'd bring me one...what wonderful friends I have..she said they knew I was disappointed so thought they'd chear me up...then shortly after Bernice across the way saw my car was home today and was worried..imagine...not much I'd get away with that wouldn't get found out...better go phone and thank Darlene...Mike's a doll...he just does nice things and shakes his head...

So tonight the girls will arrive in a couple of hours, looking forward to it..keeps me occupied...

Hope you all enjoyed you day...

Hmmmm.....no one has posted since 8:30 PM, last night? That doesn't seem right. I missed reading any of the forums yesterday, so I had to just go through two days here. Man, you all are a chatty bunch. ha-ha

I am enjoying hearing about the get together last week. I am sure that this was a week that none of you will ever forget. So glad that you could get together.

I have been sitting here since 1:30 AM and need to get up and get motivated for the day. I will go outside shortly and walk and look at gardens before it becomes too warm. I can see that I have lots of Gladiolus in bloom. They are at a distance out of the back door, so I am not sure how many there is.

I already have two vases full of them. Dont know where I am going to set all of these things if I continue cutting them. I am like you Betty, and love havihg fresh flowers in the house.

Gonna scoot along. Have a great day all.

Oh yeah, I bet the trellises were beautiful with Morning Glories, Ves.

Betty, If I can find the article on living longer, I will post some more of the ideas. Not sure if I can find it or not.

Ruby
