We enjoyed the long weekend at the cottage. Got home at 11:00 last night. We have another young guest from France!! A friend of Julias.
OH MY Gosh, what a cutie. His name is Julian. He is in Chicago 2 more weeks on and exchange program. He is studying to make Web sites, So He found Julia in a Chat room and wanted to meet her. The first true American that he has met. LOL, ..

Wish I was closer Shar, know there would be mega 'treasures' I could come home with...are you finding it hard to part with anything? watched a show not that long ago..said to virtually mark out the size of a floater raft, sit inside, think to yourself 'now if I were only able to save what can be put inside this raft, which articles would they be?' guess we might be surprised as to what we would save...

Guess I'd save the photo's..hmmm sitting here thinking, all other things could be replaced..I'm truly not sentimental over 'things' don't get me wrong, I like 'my things' but most I could replace...

OH My Gosh...Should be landing in 1/2 hour!! Steve Finally getting ready and off we go to pick up our girl...

OK now I am really starting to pace until we walk out the door.

hello everyone omg comotion in chicago had to sit in the plane for a hour and 10 minutes before we could leave so finally get to chicago small airplane packed like sardines lol..
my luggage dosnt show up i go into full blown panic poor judy waiting outside with steve finally locate luggage got put on wrong belt here i thought it was being held hostage because i snuck lemmons on lol
just hot and humid here wow not use to it sweating like mad...
just wonderful to be here ok have to go get re hydrated sooo heres judy.

Hi, Yes quite the ride for Liz...But yay, we stopped for lunch and then came on home where we have been visiting non stop since we hugged at the airport. A real sweetheart. Gave the grand tour of my jungle, LOL...So we are off to goof some more. Not sure what we will get into yet, lol still blabbin!

Suzanne's handed me $100. said for me to enjoy a meal or special treat, then came home and there is a lovely card from Mae, I had taken in and repaired a few of her hubby's pants, wouldn't you know there was an envelop waiting for me with some USA dollars..then youngest son told me to call is I wanted a special treat while in USA and he'd make sure $$$ would be in my account..holy moly I'm spoilt..yes I am..lol..but I love it...

SO I'm off to drink the 450 ml. of white chalk..not sure how I'll do but know once I get it down, there will be another waiting for me tomorrow..

OMG, went outside and walked the gardens, always looking for new beauties..anyway, I spotted the little mushroom with frog on it..now this is new..lol..so called around and found the culprit..Pat had been here painting today and she's been making them and thought one would look lovely in my garden..just called to thank her but she's out visiting..

Don (DH) told me she made the with vermiculite (?) and cement..said they used a cup for base and bowl for the mushroom top..it's about 10" tall..asked if she made the frog but he said no, that she picked them up and other little creatures at the dollar store or other garden centers...

Always nice to get a treat...many today so today must be SPECIAL!

Well my tummy is topsy turvy..Friday when I went for the catscan I had to drink 'yuk' but not as bad as this stuff tonight..each and every time I take a drink -almost oily chalk I gag..got 3/4 of the bottle in but not sure I'll get any more down..I look a the counter and there stands another waiting for noon tomorrow...know it's a must, but think if I force myself there will be nothing left in my tummy, I'll just upchuck the entire thing...

Hello!!

Wow, quite late. Well, I have to tell you. I was delighted to watch Liz smile at our Fire flies! Never has she seen them! So we went out and tried to catch a few. Poor girl is definately not used to our humidity. Yikes. But I think we had a really good visit.

You each have been in conversation, See, you have been with us in spirit!!

The airport thing was alright, just not too cool we cant go inside for pick ups. So We chatted on phone and tried to stay calm...I think DH was more worried about getting booted from spot. But it all worked well. LOL, We have just spent this hot and humid day chatting! out on the deck. Liz is tucked away to bed, been up since 3AM. She is mighty tired.

Now, I am also tired but lol, still very wide awake.
Shar, I am suspecting the exhileration a little bit the same on your trip.

Cute Frog Betty! Waving hello to you Sister Dawn...You know I wish you were here too, but I think you are in spirit. We will meet in time. I will definately look forward to it. Right now, you get ready for Baby! I will get ready for her too, and so look forward to photos and stories.

No, not a real froggie, she picks frogs up whenever she sees them for this project..will have to be on the lookout for some USA frogs..lol..I've so many in my pond that the croaking could drive one crazy, but I love the sound..that's why she put the frog on it...nice surprise and nice addition to my garden..

Forced myself to stay in bed this morning..was up at 4am and thought I should stay up but no not going to so here I am, starting to pack..not looking forward to the other bottle of meds I have to drink around noon...

Have everything and everyone organized..all are fretting about me driving on my own, lordy I'm a big girl so lots of d-mails to do when I arrive or they'll have the police out searching...

It will be nice spending the night at Gary and Nona's ..haven't visited them since they moved...right near the Windsor Casino but as I'm not a gambler think I'll pass...Gary thought perhaps I might go win mega $$$ for spending money but I'm more likely to lose the money I have..lol

So off I go..

Judy, thought maybe Liz would be up early posting..what is planned for today? Before I leave at noon, see if Liz forgot anything she needed and I'll bring it along..

Liz and Judy oh what to say to you two! LOL Have you started your day yet? Humidity! Isn't it grand? Not! Ours died down a bit. But I can see it popping back up if the sun shines. Made my sinuses act up bad for 2 days. So far okay today. But I am so behind here because of that and the wet gardens.

Had raccoons digging up my flowers. DH borrowed a live trap from his nephew. Have caught 2 so far. They poop on the rocks. Leaves a big mess. Eat the bird food. They have to go or as many as we can catch.

Have been picking sugar snap peas and getting them in the freezer. Picked my first shelling peas. Enough for one meal. I feel like I am getting a bit done. Head could handle doing that.

Sharon wonderful story. I thought you told us there weren't very many? Are you ready for the garage sale? Oh take a picture and show us! LOL

Oh fire flies. I have been watching them also! Seems like the heat and humidity bring them out. As a kid always wanted to fill up a jar for a lantern. Never did tho!

Vicki, beautiful lily's..was just out in the garden and think I'll be missing the grand opening of mine...I've watched them come along and now I'll miss them...oh well...

I've searched all through to find Judy's phone number, hope she checks in before I leave..can't think where I'd put it?

Rained softly last night, storm passed us by but you can tell it will be a scorcher here today..one less thing to do..water flowers..lol

We have fireflies here as well but I haven't seen them in years..kids used to put them in jars and enjoy their beauty...

Have to make another call to find out who left another box for me yesterday..it is a glass light box but one end is cut out, and there are a few shells in it, guess you could make an aquariam...HMMM - missed that last night?

Not sure if everything I want to bring with me will fit into my vehicle..have to do some creative packing..
Must go put some curls in my curless mop of hair and do more packing..want to be out of here by noon..if I get there early, they might take me a few minutes earlier (or not)..

Well, Rained good last night. LOL Ves, that is preceisely why I have jungles, Everytime i am able to get out there is rain with Lightning and well, wont weed in in that. Oh wonderful you have Vegetables, Nothing like fresh from the garden, sigh one, day...Well we will just have to remedy firelfy catching, lol always a first time for everything right?

Liz was up her normal time but had a difficulties with my system. So I showed her how to log in. when I got up my normal time.

Morning all - I'm around - just lurking a bit this week. Getting ready for vacation to the lake on Sat. I cannot wait!!!

We've had rain the past 3 nights and I am SO excited by that!!!! I don't have to worry about watering anything and my cucumbers and squash are growing like gangbusters! On Sunday alone, I got about 25 cucs off of 4 or 5 plants! They are coming out of my ears!!! I got about 10 yellow squashes too. I highly recommend "bush" cucumbers!! And my tomatoes will be ripening soon too!!

Oh my gosh.....how exciting is all of this? Judy and Liz finally together and Betty on her way to meet up with them. What a fun time they will have. Betty planning for a get together at her house next year is really wonderful. Until now I have never had a reason to visit Canada. I can't think of a better excuse to visit there than the promise of seeing some of the people who are currently a very large part of my life.

Hello to everyone. Those of you who are reaping the rewards of vegetable gardening, enjoy. I agree, there is nothing that tastes quite so good as anything that was picked just minutes before you eat it. As a child I spent a lot of time in a vegetable garden while staying with my granddad. I can still taste how delicious I thought that radishes were when newly picked.

Ruby - you make me laugh! Many a day, my radishes and cucs didn't even make it out of the garden! If I've got a hose, they get cleaned right there and eaten up!

You will all have so much fun. I hope to meet all of you one day, though we may not, but it would be fun.

That humidity just drains the life out of ya. Liz California has Monsoon season blowing in from AZ so you would get it here too, so don't feel too bad.

HEY, GUYS!!!!!!

Greetings to you all from far away Latvia! It is almost 4PM here on Wednesday afternoon--7 hrs. ahead of you all....
We are staying in a beautiful apaetment--fully furnished with every convenience. O)ur cousins have had us scheduled almost every hour of every day to do nsomething or other. Just the last 2 days we have had some free time.

BTW--We have a laptop in our apt. for our use--that is why ai am writing you....having withdrawl symptoms....

The weather here is awesome! it has been about 70* and the most beautiful blue skies and white, puffy clouds. Yesterday we were caught in some T-showers while cruising Rigaš center and had to fend with plastic bags over our heads for the 20 min. walk back to our apartments. Today, we were smarter and we all brought our umbrellas. Still-it was no fun....

I cannot tell you how many miles we have all walked by now! People walk to most everything. The Big Song` Festival is going full Swing all week. We went to watch the opening parade of all the singers and dancers and every choir in Latvia....and mamy, many more people--all marching alphabetically by every Region in Latvia (endless...) and then, within every`Region, there were all the participating Groups and choirs, etc--also alphabetically...We stood by the street-side for 7 hours. It just about killed my knees! it took 2 days to recover.....

OK! mayby on to more interesting things....
This City, as many others in Europe is beyond cleaan! You don't even see a cigarette butt on the streets--anywhere! They have these tiny trash receptacles attached to the walls everywhere and people deposit anything they have in there. The flowers are fresh and beautiful--plantings in al the Parks. I have taken a lot of pictures and also at one of our cousinš gardens who seems to have nothing` better to do except drive to her Country house (about 1/2 hr. away to water her huge garden there. She is a bit of a fanatic about her gardens--they ARE beautiful! many flowers there ai have not seen--so I took pictures of them. You will all have to help--especially those in the more Northern climes.....

OK! My Sister wants her turn at the laptop--so I will close for now.

Weather is beautiful, mosquito time so we're inside for now..Steve - Judy's better half is taking tomorrow off to take us sightseeing in Chicago..looking forward to that..

What a trip..spend the night in Windsor (Detroit across the border a few miles) and left at 5:30 am..should have been here around 11pm..but guess what..nobody told me that a GPS's idea of shortest route doesn't mean the quickest..I ended up in Gary, Indiana lol, did the shoreline..ended up in Chicago where really I shouldn't have been..so took about 2 hrs. longer than anticipated..the route it gave me was gorgeous to see but the speed limite of 35 - 45 mph was a bit much...so I'll know what to do on my way home...it will be highway all the way...

Nice hearing from Gita, sounds as though she is having a great time.....Jeannine you are shortly to be on vacation as well...we'll all be missing each other for a few weeks..know Carol said she was going to London, Ontario to visit with her sister, Gita's gone, Liz and Judy here...hard for me to sit and visit..you know me, sitting is hard to do..lol

Painted an Adirondak Chair and table to Judy..barely fit in my car..she loved it..have some gifts for Liz, didn't bring them out, better do so tonight before they travel back to Canada...

Liz wanted to see the painting that Shar did so girls, you are here with us..you've travelled the entire way...

Ruby, I'd love you to visit me in Canada any time, just am sure you don't want to do it when I've 6 feet of snow..or would you...maybe John could do some snowmobiling and icefishing...

Well, it's 9 my time but 8 here, I'm usually in bed by now...old lady that I am..but watch out tomorrow morning...

After ugging Betty up, spent the afternoon visiting with Betty and Liz,
LOL Betty did sit! hehe, said her behind hurt after a bit.
We settled down a bit Zoomed to HD for Cement for leaves. Guess who insisted it wasn't going to rain.
LOL...it did but Liz and Betty saved it with plastic...sooo think we still use it.

We are off to the City of Chicago today...Lots to cover and still fit crafting in.

Our Betty is just as adorable in person as she is on the thread...
