Sonora was so sweet and relaxed....she asked to make veggie dip for our BBQ supper...she makes it at home
using Salad supreme..half sour cream and half mayo.
I didn't have Salad Supreme..but I had other seasonings for dip..as well as some fresh herbs from my garden. She chopped onion chives, garlic chives and some lemon thyme to add to the dried seasonings.
Hi Betty...you were here in spirit! "Our fearless leader!" You will really be able to relate to these photos as you had such a good time with Gilli and family last year.
and..as Sonora did at Betty's last year..she made a craft..I had a box of wood bits and pieces from when I used to do a few crafts. I gave Sonora the whole box to take home..she especially liked the wooden box that held all the goodies..
She painted a WELCOME sign and is going to give it to her Grandma today.

i want some of that energy! yesterday was just horrible for the dogs so many neighbors has the big time illegal fireworks omg the dogs were so frightened they drove us absoultly nuts! know for next year to get something from the vet.
today is kill the ants day yaaaaaa! pest control will be here this morning then my mom comming by, then i think i better pack lol tomorrow i have to go to inlaws so very little time left for me good greif i have to get up at 2.30 am to be out of here at 4.30 they want you there two hours before 6.30 am flight i will be crazy for sure! who in a million years would of thought this is really going to happen...

I told the kids they could choose any toy they wanted from the toy house home with them.
Ian chose the castle..which when put on its side looks like a rocket ship.
He had lots of fun playing with it here.
Sonora also chose the little cone shaped toys that pops a ball to the other person to catch in the other cone. She and Dana had such fun playing with them. I put the little teddy bear that Ella played with in Sonora's craft box for her.
So there you have the story of our visit..they left at 9pm..and Gilli asked how to find "The Hole in the wall" which is a round small opening in a train bridge just east of Newcastle. She wanted to take her Dad back to see it one more time..as he had told stories of passing through it when he traveled Hwy. 2 when he was coming back from Port hope where he worked at one time.
What a very happy day....and Gilli said she would love to come back for a visit again sometime in the future.
I enjoyed meeting her Dad too..he helped me dry the dishes after supper and told me more stories..said he had a University degree in drying dishes ..so cute..

Well we went to the fireworks at the camp area. I got apic of the sunset over one of the ponds and only two good ones of the fireworks because I didn't realize there was so much dew on my lens but oh well two is bett than none. Here they are. You all have a good day. I have to go fix the suer pipe again and cut the awning off the frame and mow so am going to be pooped today. Wish I had Betty's energy!!! You all have a good day. Hugs BEV

Bev if I remember right it is Midnight Blue Salvia or sage! I don't always mark plants. But I only paid 1.00 for the starter plant and it reseeds pretty good. No scent but it does bloom quite a while.

So off I go, have the hallway at Suzanne's to finish..hope no more than 3 hrs. then I can relax..didn't get more than a few hours last week...need to get energy so I can play with the young ones in Chicago..lol..

Well, mission accomplished, got their hall done, they managed not to do battle lol..very appreciative..I'm glad I was able to bring my saws, energy, guidance lol and accomplish what we did..total of 13 hrs.
I did enjoy my painting day, wished I could have come home and put my chair together but the floor was more important..tomorrow is another day...
Thought I'd show you the back of it...tomorrow I'll post the finished project..I must have been in a bright mood, lol, because my colors were so much more vibrant than the others...
Easy project, one that once I put the table and footstool together with it on the front lawn, will look pretty against all the flowers...

It is so beautiful out there this morning, just washed my hair, need to get dressed and start my day, but not before dropping in here...
Those fireworks photo's were indeed beautiful, you must surely have a top notch camera to have been able to capture the beauty of them...aren't we all kids at heart..
Don't know where to start this morning, do know it will be outside though..I can finish my chair out there and enjoy the beauty that I've just seen from back deck...makes me sad to think that before long well we know what is coming, that white fluffy junk..

I wan'ted to work on my little area next to the porch today. We will see. omg!!! wholy cow count down is here hours away well finally packed and unpacked and packed.
yesterday was a interesting day, pest control came and did a complete spray around the property, they dont touch fruit trees or any veggie or herbs thank god! they came in the kitchen and packed this gel based product in the two areas ants keep comming in at, said give it a day or two the'll carry this to the nest and if a out break occurs the'll come out free till the next schedualled spray yippeee!!!!!!
had to keep the dogs in for two hours or till thin line evaporates so all is good there.
then my mom came by wanted to go to walmart,she is to funny thease days she just got a new volvo and wanted to go to eat before we journeyed out so dh up frount i sat in the back she said oh listen to this tape i got.... when motorists piss me off this go's on full blast ( now here is my mom 66 no noncense sort of gal) playing zz top
just had to laugh at her, from walmart, then she wanted to go to this thrift store i had taken her to sh she made out like a bandit 6 brocaded and different patterened jackets and a senior discount all for 29.00 she was estatic!
funny part was texting judy all this time and i think she thinks i like to shop for hours but i dont usually in and out , mom said oh hear there having mosquitos bad i stopped her right in her tracks and said mom stop and yes im the next wn victim! she didnt like that at all but you got to know mom she reads everything and news omg ask her anything you'll have every know disease lol,
but i can actually say i really enjoyed her company yesterday even dh did to.
well now off to inlaws oh boy hope i have equally good time lol

Well "mini Betty" you are one busy gal too. Liz.."the hole in the wall"..is just a very old train bridge ..the opening where the cars drive under the bridge is rounded on top..made of rustic looking stone. Two cars can pass through closely but if a big truck wanted to go through..one would have to wait. It is just a memorie that Gilli's Dad had and she thought it would be nice to take him there to see it again. There is a Bar/motel right near it and it used to be called The Hole in the Wall. New owners bought it and changed the name...

Carol, been working since early morning putting chair slats together then painting each rung with a beautiful ochre color..once together I'll not be able to spray them perhaps till late night so the paint can cure, but they will be out..have the foottstool together and painted, arm tops painted in same ochre and now I've just filled the screw holes on the seat and I'm ready to do the slats..
Suzanne and Lenny just dropped in to bring me my saws, ended up taking my compressor and brad nailers as to do the trim next weekend..I'll be gone, can't help but the says he'll do fine..
It is such a sunshine day, Kathy came over the coffee, we sat inside because I was still in my jammies..should have stayed in them all day lol..
So, if all goes according to hoil, by tonight both chairs I've done (one during the week) will be complete and I can clean my mess..girls coming to paint tomorrow so can't show them how disorganized I am..or can I????

When I went to Canadian Tire yesterday Carol, the one in Barrie on Bayfiled..they completely left all their plants just die...lordy I felt like giving them a piece of my mind, give them to a group or someone, don't just let them wither and die...and the few that looked as though they still had some life, were the same price as always...
Don't you just hate it when you have to wait for paint to dry..lol
Could have been done these projects and moved on to something else....
Morning All - I hope everyone has had a great weekend. We pretty much ahve done nothing which was just fine with me! On Friday DD went with a church group up to Washington DC to see the fireworks on the nat'l mall. I told her to take it all in because she would be in the one place in the US where people go to celebrate their freedom and she would be there for the celebration. DH and I watched the fireworks on PBS and I tell you, it was kinda emotional - listening to the music and see the fireworks and knowing my daughter was there too. DS went with neighbors to see fireworks in downtown Richmond so DH and I got to stay home and chill.
Saturday was uneventful too but did do girls night out with friends - dinner and a movie (Sex and the City). Great movie! It was nice to get out! Had a wonderful thunderstorm while int he movie. It was pouring rain when we got out and I was doing a jig! We haven't had any rain in over a 2 weeks so it was badly needed!
Today, I don't ahve any plans - just the usual laundry and other fun stuff. I forgot to tell y'all that I finally got my 5 mini quilts back from the quilter so all I need to do now is put the binding on and they will be done. They are all wall hangings so I wil need to find places to put them. I will post pictures soon.
We're going on vacation next Sat so I'll be gone until the 19th. Heading to Smith Mtn Lake for the week and I'm really looking forward to a week of relaxation!
The puppies are 14 days old and their eyes are starting to open! I can't wait to "meet" them!

Good to hear from everyone. Starzz, such fun photos and the whole day sounds like it was fun. It is so much fun meeting people that already know a lot about us from chat rooms. I am glad that so many people are being able to meet one another.

I'm going to open my house up next year for a week and try to have as many of you as who wants to visit come up..oh what a grand time we'd have..could do boat tour, tour of Toronto , some gardens and of course just time to enjoy ourselves..

Sure is getting hot out there, tonight I'll be watering the gardens for sure..girlfriend Ann just dropped in for 1/2 hr. and we were both saying how blessed we were to be alloted good friends, lovely gardens..thanking the Lord because he sure was generous...
Ann also paints, she's decided that her birthday is next week and she's asking for a couple of Adirondak chairs..she'll come over and I'll show her how to do the iris one..we've done many together but now it's her 'favorite' would look nice at the waterfront..
