Laura, took my camera out to especially show you another rose coming into bloom nestled near between the Canada Geese, but it struck me as I focused the camera just how proud these metal creatures were, head reaching for the sky, proud and tall, so, I tried to capture some of their beauty..will post the rose Laura for you tonight...
Everyone, we'll gab when I reach the city, yep I do have a ride, today Suzanne will drive MY car...
Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #49
Love those geese Betty..so unique.
Is the orange colour rust? I seem to remember you bought those last year..
Pretty blooms..
My hummingbird feeder got blown off its hook in the thunderstorm last night..it is somewhere in the tall plants below..he came looking for his breakfast as usual this morning....but had a surprise. I guess I better go look for it..
morning all,
betty, oh no your car??? how much damage was done and where? glad you went to hospital maby this will expeidite all the tests quicker, heart go's out to you! will say another prayer for you.
your garden is lovely, lol those primroses the pink one had to laugh, mil gave me a few well a half a flat, they started taking over, gave my next door neighbor some and the neighbor across the street some good greif were all over run by them...
but they sure are pretty as a border.
carol, you get alot of thunder there?
Hi Everyone - Betty, so glad that yesterday is over for you and that you can start anew this morning. I am so happy that you went to ER yesterday. Maybe they can get this ball rolling now and something can be done to help you.
As we head in to the weekend, I hope that it is a good one for each of you. Don't have much to say at moment, but will check back in later after I finish up with a few chores.
Have a good day everyone.
Ruby
as
Betty..I cross posted..and missed seeing the Secret garden entrance garden..now that should be in a magazine..just lovely!
This is Hosta Krossa Regal..
Morning Liz ..yes we had a lot of thunder.
The kids next door were having a end of school pool party..they were out running in the rain squealing with delight.
They are 12 and 14..
Hi Ruby..enjoy your day.
Betty so glad you went and got checked out. Yes send it to your DR. They can see if there is any difference during that time. Your garden is so lovely. Loved Dawn's idea with the email. Might not help with her. But it could be theraputic for you. Have a better day today.
Judy thinking of you and waiting to see what they tell you.
Liz we had one day of smoke a year or two ago and that was bad. Can only imagine what it is like for you guys. Is it time for the Thrift sale? If so keep us updated on the crazy people stories as I am sure there will be some.
I work today yet. Country Fest is going on and the store is hopping! They go shopping and driving around until the shows start. Some of them are so nice and others you want to you know what! Finding empty wrappers is way up of course! Things placed anywhere in the store wasn't too bad yesterday. Will see what today brings.
Gita have a wonderful trip. Looking forward to pictures and stories during or when you get back.
Need to find something for breakfast. Don;t know what I want!
Thank you, yes Carol, it's rust..they were silver - actually I thought they had a protective covering on them, was disappointed but I kind of like the rust look..got them at Meaford Applefest, maybe I'll purchase a few more pieces this fall..so sad about the storm..
As we travelled in, the sky was heavy at home, then sunshine in Barrie and now it's so overcast that you can feel a storm brewing..much of the same is expected for the next 4 days..so, I've plenty to keep me busy..don't have to worry about the lawn, already cut by some nice lady..as for my gardens Carol, I'm about 10 years behind you..although I want them to be mature gardens so I can enjoy their beauty I have to remember they've only been in for 2 seasons..I am truly enjoying though seeing the roses come to life..the back gardens are very sandy but I think some of that top soil should be mixed in..we'll have to see...
I've hummingbird feeders all through the yard but have yet to see a 'hummingbird' but either they are leaking or someone is drinking out of them...
Liz, I love primroses but don't have pink ones, at least I don't remember seeing them..will check it out..I love flowers that I can keep transplanting, love the much english garden look...
Dawn, thanks 'sweetie' you always have such kind words to offer as do you all..well Suzanne is talking about ordering breakfast, I didn't eat yesterday at all except for a bag of chips at emergency..

Betty thinking about you today and hope all goes well. Loved the photos, also Carol's.
Liz, you are one excited puppy!!
Judy, you are beyond excitement...I know.
My neighbor built a potting bench for me while I was gone, guess who spent the evening well into dark playing in it last night. I have great neighbors!
Ves, good to hear from you...Hi Ruby....
You all have a good day. I think I have settled in from the trip now, and things are getting back to normal, finally.
Except, my daughter brought her cat with her...and Jazz absolutely hates her. Daisy could care less.
Sharan I forgot your daughter is there. What fun you will have with feuding kitties! Hopefully they will settle down soon.
Missy and Riley Shar can't pass each other without hissing..in the morning when letting the night stalker in I have to take the other in my arms until they are settled in and yet they'll sleep on my bed to keep me company each one knowing their own boundaries..so cute...you'll have to post photo of your new potting bench..
Well. The hosta sale is no go. Storming since 4am and going to all day and bad ones tonight and again tomorrow. Looks like I am going to be giving away a lot of baby hostas but th is ok. I like to give people stuff. The sun is out noe but I am out of the mood. As soon as I would put stuff out, Up wpould come a good one so no way!! The yard and all is flooded now. You all have a good day. Hugs BEV
Yuk Bev, could you not just keep them out of harms way and have it another day..take a look at the colors in that flower...should be in my bouquet...
Gita how is your daughter doing..is she home from the hospital..as well, were you able to find someone to watch your gardens..know you were so looking forward to your trip starting tomorrow and that you'll be worried probably the entire time you are gone...do try not to think about the garden and DSIL will surely make sure your daughter is being looked after...
Good Afternoon!
Well, I guess I still have a job!! No meeting were schedualed, so thats a good thing. They did lay off quite the number in the field though. So, I checked and all our house people are in tact. Now it is a summer schedual and so far alot of people are out of the building. So far thats what i know and rumor has it now that September is the next push.
So, I did get my teeth yesterday and I am pleased as punch! I am finding them to be comfortable and getting used to chewing things and talking.LOL, never imagined i would have to re-learn to speak. So, got a great idea and cranked my music and sang...
Seeing and hearing peoples reaction has been fun. My girls were so cute, watched for me and met me at the door. We laughed and giggled, as it's been quite a while since they saw "my" smile. Jacob shook his head in disbeleif, they just got so accustomed to the "other" me. Well DH is exstatic...So much that, he made an appointment at the the beauty salon for a facial and a manicure. Said, Since I was going to the wedding with beautiful new teeth he wanted me to look gorgeous!! So after work i am going to the Spa...
I am telling you, I am just on top of the world at the moment, LOL and it no dream it is all real!!! Hear that Mumma? I am So HAPPY.
Thank you all for listening and participating in my dreams. Love you all.
Betty, So glad you went to er and got a ride home from Suzanne, What an incredible sweetheart...And Your Secret Garden entance is just incredible! Carol is right, should be in a magazine.
Alright i am starving...going to have lunch.
Really cool Hosta, Starzz. I haven't ever seen one grow like that. The only ones that I have ever seen are ones that the leaves lay closer to the ground. Bev, the last picture almost looks artificial. I don't think I have ever seen a live flower with such unusual coloring. What is it?
Hi Miss Shar. So good to have you back. What a wonderful trip you had. The pictures that I have seen that you took are breathtaking. Can't imagine some of the sights that you all saw.
Betty, I hope that things will now speed up in terms of the medical people figuring out what is going on with you.
All other who posted, howdy there ya'll. Gonna shut the computer off and eat a bit of lunch and possibly nap. I hope that everyone is having a good day.
Oh yeah, Judy, I hope that staying with the job for now suits you. I didn't think to ask but are taking the week off that Liz is coming in or will she be up to her own devices during the hours that you are working?
Happy Friday everyone.
Ruby
Judy what an under appreciated thing teeth are ha? Glad to hear you happy and proud of your chops.
I love festivals too especially if they sell good stuff and the weather is good. My friend and I use to go to a lot and I never go now that she died. Not the same for me anymore. A lot of things are not.
I am so burnt from the other day, I am peeling soon and getting Melanoma next. I know better.
Betty,
You have a few things mumbled-jumbled up, but--with all these threads you keep up with, all is forgiven....
Yes--My daughter came home last night. They took her catheter out--and if you can pee on your own--out you go! She is still VERY uncomfortable as her abdomen is still very bloated from the air they pump in there before surgery so they can see what they are doing. You, of all people, know what that feels like! She is in a lot of gastric pain because of the bloating.
I have been encouraging her to get up and move...move...move.
Betty--I DO NOT have a SIL! The lady that will water my garden is my new next-door neighbor. And the lady who will mow the lawn is my new home-sharer/tenant. She has now been here 2 months. I work with her--side-by-side. She is the Millwork Expediter.
She deals with all kinds of issues that arise from the installation of windows and doors as well as keeps in touch with all the installers and makes sure everything is scheduled and running smoothly.
She needed a place to stay as she had had enough of her no-good, abusive, always in jail big, black dude of a husband. So, she walked out for good! I had a place--and a very nice one--for her here. She pays me $400/month "rent".....I would have wanted $500--but she could not afford it. $400 is OK.
She has a furnished bedroom, a private, full bath, a large LR (my club room) with a TV, VCR, DVD player, a bar with running water, a fridge and a MW. Also a door to the outside so she can chill on the patio. I set her up so she has a nice computer station--being routed off of mine. Mark did all that.
There is a large (9') sofa and 2 easy chairs as well. What else does one need?????
I have resigned and am not fretting about my garden. I know the people that will take care of it will do the best they can. If something dies--so be it!
I will miss my Tomatoes ripening and my Kopper King Hibiscus starting to bloom. I know the rabbits will munch up half of my garden--and there's nothing I can do about that from 1000's of miles away! Plants are ONLY plants! They are ALL replaceable.....
OK! I DID want to vacuum the house--so I better get with it!
I will still check DG tomorrow AM. Then I will water everything outside real good, get aLL MY STUFF, STOP BY MY DAUGHTERS AND TAKE HES SOME FOOD THAT NEEDS TO BE EATEN, AND THEN--i WILL BE OFF TO MY SISTERS. (OOPS...missed the capital button....sorry!
Gita
Gita, not mixed up I thought SIL was (SON IN LAW) so there, lol...you brat..enjoy your trip....off to eat, haven't eaten since the day before yesterday except for one little donut in the a.m. and a bag of chips..now one can't call the vending machine chips a gag..$1.50 and you open it up, all air, probably 10 chips..lol
So, have to unpack my car, filled it up with what, you've guessed it, some flowers..hey, bought a - ok. it's a vine, Carol you have it on your secret garden arbour..well I'll unpack, you keep guessing and I'll let you know later...
Wisteria..lol..now I have to decide, full sun/partial sun, sun ..does it grow quickly??? now I have to read up...
Judy, don't know if I should say good news/bad news with regards to your job..just think at it as when you finally do get the axe you'll have an entire year to visit us all..can't wait to see those chompers..now we want a photo of you and DH before going to the wedding, please/please?
Sailor is a bit shy, she's saying hello..
Here's a better photo..think someone was here today to let her out and played ball, she's limping a bit and came in when I did, didn't even bring the ball to the paper boy...poor girl...
Edited to say:
you wouldn't know it would you that there is a large pond and tons of rock behind those flowers...

Dawn, how come you let yourself get so burnt? Out much too long and you talk about me and my health issues...brim hat, under the shade that's where you must rest...
Bev..St. Anthony is still looking around, just know he is, sometimes it takes him a bit, but he's on the job...
Ruby, now what did you get up to today, you and John had some unscheduled time today and I think this weekend..are you just enjoying your garden..so hope it doesn't rain the entire 4 days, I'd love to just play and make some gardens with the topsoil..we'll see..
I started this what 2 weeks ago, had to look for more scrap glass downstairs and more bobbles, bought 2 more tubes of sylicone, forgot the grout powder as I don't thing I have enough..that's project #1 for this weekend...
Project #2, I'm hoping to do homework on my Muskoka Chair, no not 'hoping' it must be done because I've a class next Saturday...
Now the gentleman with the blue hostas (need to go take photo) he was throwing out this set, nothing wrong, just needs a paint job so I brought them home, there is another secondary room off the 'secret garden' have some branch trimming yet to do, wondered if I painted the set in different colors??no one I'm sure will ever sit there, lol...stupid isn't it?
Project #3...move some of the topsoil to cover the winter beaten lawn..bought some seed today and if it rains, will give it a good shot..
Project #4..have two side arbors that I've just started to grow vines on, 1st planted is hops and also morning glories, need to attach vine to the sides and top, spray top metal mesh with black and hope for the best...
So, if I can get those projects done, throw one or two in for goodluck, add garage sales in Barrie tomorrow, providing no rain, then I'll be more than satisfied..what do you think?
Still more to unpack and put away, do hope you enjoy your evening, still early..lol lights out shortly for me...
And now, for the OTHER PART OF THE STORY! LOL
OMG forgot to tell you all, last night after Suzanne dropped me off to my car she was shopping and saw LeeAnn, LeaAnn said she had no idea as to why I blew my stack and was so upset..so Suzanne told her that she did not want to take sides but that she must learn how to approach people, treat them with respect and curtesy...
This morning I'm at my desk, as she came in and said she was going out for coffee would I like one, I said I'd love one, gave her $5.00 as I had no change, she came back put the money on the table and said my treat, then I was reading up on Irratable Bowel Syndrom and lordy did it sound like me, so guess Wayne went into the other office where they work, next thing you know she and Cindy come out, and say they sure hope that's what it is, suggested a few things etc. etc. as PLEASANT as could be...so we'll see..do hope so..oh yes, she said to Suzanne that she sent me a letter of apology, Suzanne said she had read it and SHE would be offended to get such a letter...so let's hope right that the message got through..she told Suzanne if something was bothering me or if she did something to offend I should just confront her..Suzanne told her that it was not my personality and I'd never do it, that I would boil until I had no other recourse but to get angry...
I was working some of my unhappiness and stress of my son out and I knew I was getting burnt, despite the sun block spritz I did, I ended up in a sleeveless shirt with a low cut back instead of a tshirt and knew I didn't spray my back low enough. Maybe I just wanted to be wreckless like my kid, but I learned the hard way.
I love your yard pictures and sit amazed at how just a few weeks ago you shared your endless blizzard of mile hi snow with us, hard to believe it looks like that so fast after all that.
Gita how old is your baby? Poor thing. She does need to walk, that air they blow you up with is excruciating and if it goes in the shoulder ohhhh!
Nice of you to help out the girl with the abusive man. They do come in all colors but he sounds like a real prince. So glad you are helping her and it helps you too to fell good about yourself.
Why would she be offended at the apology unless it was not really an apology? So if you get it, what are you going to do? Read or not to read it, that is the question?
I am glad that they tried to be nice this morning. Women, working with a lot of them is so hard or else so fun. If you have the fun one, some days are still coming with some moods.
Dawn, just put it behind me..this kid stuff just isn't worth getting upset about..it was Suzanne who read it and said that if she were the recipient she wouldn't have taken it as an apology, she'd have taken it as yet another insult... so, yesterday will remain yesterday, I've enjoyed today and tomorrow will be so much better...
Kids sure can get the best of you can't they if they think they have the upper hand...you should be read what you posted to me..lol..is was sound advise..
Hi everyone!
What a wonderful surprise I got today - a package from my secret pal!!!! I rec'd 4 sweet potpourri balls! They smell heavenly - of beautiful roses! OK, so WHO out there said they were making potpourri???? Well, whoever you are, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! My undies will smell so sweet!!
Well, getting thehouse clean for company coming tomorrow so off to vaccum!
Y'all have a wonderful night!!
J
Betty,
Dawn beat me to it!
Betty--I was also going to say that it is unbelievable that under all that 10' of snow was what you have now!!!! Just one of the miracles of nature.
Your garden is just so beautiful! So...casual! I am assuming that most of those flowers are perennial? That is the way to go! No fuss--No muss!
Wish I had a woodsy, spacey gardening area......:o( I would LOVE to just be able to dig anywhere--any time. No borders...NO structured beds.....Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....
I was just thinking--I bet you work your buns off to make it look like that!
Dawn--My daughter is 43. No longer my "Baby".....She's been someone else's "baby" for, like, 17 years. Now, finally, they are talking about getting married. I think it will be in October. Mark is 51.
So! There, Betty!!!! Officially--Mark is NOT my DSIL!....yet....
It is very weird...as I never know what to call him when I introduce him to someone. My Daughter just calls him "My Fiancee"....He gave her a beautiful ring years and years ago.
Just think! I get to talk nothing but Latvian for 3 weeks--except around my nephew who will be there too. So I guess we will be talking a lot of English anyway.
My cousin there speaks fluent English anyway, and her daughter married a man from England. No problema!!!!
Gita
Boy do we get behind if we are gone a little while!!! Ruby that flower is Goblin a blanket flower or galardia. Betty please keep those prayers going. I just know I will find it someday and thanks. We have had three storms roll through since 4am and dumped 4inches of rain. Our whole west side yard under water. My poor Blue was up on the shelf in the garage because he had 3inches of water on the floor and his outside pen was under 6inches. Had to move him till it went down poor baby he is so scared of storms. We are to have more tonight and tomorrow. I need some dry dirt. We did set up yard sale for about 4 hours and had a few people but didn't sell one hosta!!!! I gave 4 away. Anyone want baby no name hostas about 8to12 in a cup????Will gladly send you some for postage. I just can't throw them away.
Dragonfly,
You post the most beautiful photos of flowers! But------Would you mind mentioning the name of them? Especially the Common name? I for one would like to know....
Thanks, Gita
I am sorry Gita. I know better. I get in a hurry and forget to do that. That is Dianthis and thanks for the compliment, I enjoy taking them and showing them. I enjoy seeing everyones photos. I will do better thanks BEV
These are the pots I have to the sides of the steps to my front porch. They are planted with Kerin hostas, impatiants, and creeping jenny.
I love your pictures, all of your pix.
Gita, have a wonderful trip!
Betty, how frustrating to have to deal with things like that, especially when you're not well. I hope everything gets sorted out soon - with both areas. Both of my sister's have Crohn's disease. It took a long time for my oldest sister to get diagnosed because the doctors kept saying that it was just stress (she was in her first year of University). Finally, one of the doctors that she saw figured it out. That was in the mid 80's and I think things have come a long way but it can still be tricky. My other sister was diagnosed much more quickly.
It's so nice to see everyone's wonderful pictures of their gardens. I wish I could see mine better but all the grass is getting in the way. Our lawn desperately needs mowing but for so long there was too much water, then the blackflies were just too bad and now it's crunch time to get ready to go on our trip. I am excited though, I took out a whole bunch of phlox from one of the beds and put it on a hill that was getting overrun with thistles. I started a couple years ago and now I have phlox covering over half of the hill. Taking the phlox out of the bed was also really good for the remaining flowers. We've lived in this house for 4 years and I was pleasantly surprised when I was a nice deep purple bloom on one of the irises. This is the first time it has bloomed since we've been here, I think it was just getting completely crowded out. I was going to post a picture but I just realized that the pictured I loaded today were from my other camera.
I'm off to bed now. Tomorrow I'll be getting all the last-minute things done. It will be nice to be on the train. I always get so stressed getting ready to go. Once we're on the train and it's moving I can finally relax because even if I've forgotten something, it's too late anyway.
Chrones is bad, I have had and still have friends with it. Bad. Show Iris bloom pix.
Betty, I had IBS when I was young and when I was 26 it turned into IBS WITH constipation instead of diarrhea. It does not sound like IBS TO ME, but maybe it is and I just don't remember. I didn't swell up though, just had violent stomach cramps and diarrhea especially if I was nervous or excited or stressed.
