Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #49

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG Carol, no words for the beauty of your garden..sounds as though you had sunshine all day...we had sun, then rain, the sun, then rain..lol..should be going outside to work but think I'll call it an early night..

Did homework on 1 chair, ugly stage I always call it, it has lily's..should look nice when done, just finished putting the 2nd back together and now filling screw holes, already ate so the only thing left is 'relaxation' that is after I clean the disaster area in the kitchen and living room from all the craft supplies...

Shar, has the week of hard work, travelling etc. caught up with you? Am sure Ashley is glad you are back..how about Ethan, did he visit this weekend..guess next weekend is your long weekend...I'm so pleased to have another 2 days off...much to do...

What are you all planning for July 4th..big celebrations in USA isn't it? most of our Canada Day celebrations happened this weekend, mainly due to tourist on weekends being arund...but am sure the fireworks if it doesn't rain will Happen Tuesday night..

Ruby you feeling any better?

Hi Sharon,
Thanks..
Do you know the name of your pretty daylily?
It looks similar to one a lady posted looking for an ID on the Plant and tree ID forum.
Loving all your Alaska postings.

Betty..those curtains almost look real..good job ..as always...

This is Rose Sunrise Kormarter first bloom this season.

thanks betty. it would be great to get away for a few months and be mothered! lol

im going to my DD home who has the baby for a couple of days. i know i am needed there and appreciated. my oldest DD is causing me quite some heartache... im never quite good enough and everything supposedly i do, i do against her. go figure. i cant move without her judgement.... its wearing.

the new job is the same job, same boss but full time. not ideal but its more money which is always good. i wont be the boss;s favortite as i have been off work for three weeks on work cover with a back injury! oh well such is life eh?

I hope you gals dont mind if i sit the next SP out? dont get me wrong, i LOVE it, but over here while your on work cover you dont get paid until the claim goes in and they approve it. so there is no pay for a while and there is no gurantee they will cover it. hope you dont mind ut i will be watching all of you and enjoying your gifts!

well i will go pack and i will pop in as jess has her own pc..

hugs back at you

Hi Folks,

The end of the month is upon us, and there are several who would like to take a little break from Secret Pal gifts. That would mean we could take July and August off, and then be back for September.

I agree with them, so many of us have travel plans and a couple of months off will give us time to think up or make new fun things for the next round. OK with you?? We can start fresh in September, and in the meantime since we know each other pretty well by now, we can collect little things as we see them.

I just agree that it might be a good time for a little break, with so much going on in our lives during the summer months...well summer for all but Laura!! And she needs a break too.

Anyway, since Jaye and I were not so secret pals, let me start by saying I loved the gifts she sent, and also use the little gourd basket on my table every day. And speaking of Jaye, I haven't heard from her in a while. Miss her, too. But thank you, Jaye.....so much, for the surprises.

Ruby....you are such a dear lady, thank you for the surprises too, and all the seeds from so many of you, well, they are all nice seedlings now, since my Ashley took care of them while I was gone. I still have a few more from you Bev, that I was saving for late blooms....they will go in the dirt tomorrow.

Tell us who you think your secret pal is>>>>>>>>>

AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF IT IS OK TO WAIT TILL SEPTEMBER FOR MORE SECRET PAL FUN.

Sharon - I agree with the summer break from SP. I think that's a great idea with all the traveling and such going on.

As for my secret pal, my first thought was Gita because my packages came thru Baltimore but I think she already had me. At one point I was thinking Starzz (Carol) but I don't have a cluse so do tell!

Thx!

SP thing is a good idea, maybe then I will have a job.

Starz I love that gazebo, you guys have such a color of green, we do not own here in Caifornia, plants are such a rich and deep green, soil is a rich coffee color. ho hum.

We don't have many insects here, no mosquitos and no humidity, so everything is a trade off, oh ya no fleas either, almost ever in this part. Sure am jealous of your thunder storms and rain, except where flooding is going on.

Thanks GG, my thoughts too, and several others.

Well, girls...I am not nearly as organized as I thought. I have all our SP info in a little notebook, the notebook is nowhere...

These are the ones who participated:

Jaye and I claimed each other, so we don't count.
GG
Cat64129
Betty
Seed
Laura
Gita
Liz
Ruby
Gilli
Beverly

I also remember who Judy's SP is, and I know who Gilli's SP is....but duh!!!! Can't find my list with everybody's match ups on it.
Anyway...you all are gonna have to fess up??? Who do you think is yours and who's name did you have??

Good thing we are taking a break, I think I left my mind somewhere over Minnesota.

No problem with giving Secret Pal exchange a break for a while with me. I am pretty sure that my gifts came from Sweet Sweet Beverley. She is the one who must have paid attention while I was bragging about my mutt furr boys at some point because she included treats for them too. Thank you so much Bev.

That was just the second months goodie box. She went way overboard on the amount of things that she sent. Puts my puny boxes to shame. I will try to do better next go round. The first box that she sent had a really, really gorgeous purple (favorite color) glass bowl that now resides in a special spot in one of my china cabinets. I love it!!!! There was also an elephant in that box too and I love all of my elephants. Purple wash cloth and towel which are both extra soft and I love using both of them against my skin.

Gosh, it has been so long since I sent things out that I am guessing that I had Cat this time. Last time I had Jeannine and first go round I had Judy. This has all been a lot of fun. I love opening the packages and finding all the wonderful gifts.

Starzz, once again I am in awe of your beautiful yard, garden and deck. You have a real gift in being able to arrange things that are pleasing to the eye. Thank you for sharing all your pictures with us.

Happy Monday to all.
