Gita, 1st little lady we have asked several times where Gita is, 2nd I've floated around the mid-Atlantic threads to make sure you were ok..so there, pick yourself up, as with all our friends here we make sure everyone is ok wether here or somewhere else, never do any of you go astray...

Your daughter is lucky she caught it on time..that's very painful..poor hubby, he'll get a good nights' rest tonight I hope though he'll probably be worried to death about her as will you..nothing worse than sitting or pacing a floor in a hospital..been there done that...

Knowing you, I can't see that you are unorganized and I'm sure your neighbors would gladly help out, how could they not under the circumstances...

Again dear friend, we WILL miss your posts but all look forward to your telling us all about the changes you've seen in what 14 yrs???? think Gita I got that from the mid-atlantic thread along with knowing bunnies are eating your garden..

Greetings All - Gita, I was wondering about you just this morning when I began reading this thread. So glad that you dropped by to let us know about your month long trip. I hope that you have a wonderful time there. At what age did you leave that country?

Betty, I am soooooo glad that you called the doctor's office yesterday. Keep bugging them until they get you in. Tell them that it has become a lot worse for you than when you were last seen for it. I cannot imagine what you are going through because whenever I overeat and become bloated, it is so uncomfortable.

I speak from experience when I tell you that you will need to be your own best ally when it comes to your health. Be assertive when dealing with office staff. Let them know how important it is that you be seen ASAP. Ask to have the doctor call you. I know that you can't fight the fact that the test results are not ready, but as soon as they are, get in there as quickly as possible. You have so many people who love and care about you.

All others, have a wonderful day and stay cool or in Laura's case, stay warm.

Morning all, it's a sunshine day, the calm before the storm..Fri thru Tues. it's rain and stormy weather, at least that's what they are calling for..so I've my list of unfinished projects nearby..am sure I can fill me day..

Thanks Ruby, appreciated..this morning I'm fine, it's not till I eat, and again nothing in particular, just 'food' so I made jello to have this morning with fruit, will try to have soup or puddings for lunch, keep it light and see what happens...

I have the painting girls tonight so another long day ahead..so this morning, coffee, camera in hand I walked the gardens...still not a lot of action but it's coming alive slowly and that's ok..now you know how I don't do well
with roses..look at this lovely..her name (I'm calling her that because she's been a fighter to survive is Laura)..

Gillian, I would imagine you've either left or shortly will for your trip down here, will keep my telephone close by while working outside..your visit will most likely be on your way home as last year..looking forward to your visit and seeing just how big those kids have grown, especially Ella..she was barely walking last year..so if you've not left, left me know approx. which day you might come...a b.b.q. might be in order..lol..you survived my last years' cooking so I'll try once more..lol

Liz have been busy working. Had one day off. Today is hump day for me. Small truck load coming in. We should get most of it done tonight. Just to many things to do at work and not enough time for it all or enough help! So glad the thief is gone! Less stress is always good. Good luck on the sale. Hope you sell most of it. Would wish for all but that never happens.

Betty I don't know what to say. That is a horrible way to live. I like food too much. Your garden is looking so pretty.

Gita my gosh, how close was that with your dd? gangrene is deadly, my dh had it in his leg when he was 16 and they were going to cut off his leg to save him. Thank God it was taken care of.

I am happy you told us about being gone or we would have worried.

No smoke here except in the horizon it is kind of pinkish or orangish in the evenings though from the smoke.

Have any of you seen a story on the news about 4 family members being burned in a house and it looks like a murder of a man from NASA and his niece and her children? If so, that is here and they had a trailer burn in my town yesterday and found 2 more dead people and the police are not saying if the stories are related but it makes you think they are.

Top soil Betty. Yippie. I love deliveries of soil and amendments. I just am having no luck in the front of my house with my roses. grrr. I know I need to just focus on that area next year or in the fall. Bad soil and too much wind and sun and no timed wateriing, so not very successful over there. Thank the good Lord for my other side doing so well. Can not plant in this season much at all with the heat.

Talk about a catch 22..finally decided I will be a little pushy (mainly because Wayne and Suzanne are pushing me) anyway, call family Dr. explained the whole thing and she says, can you believe this, 'You need to see someone today" yep, kind of agree, so she says call the specialist, even though the pathology dept. doesn't have all the answers yet he should be able to see you, call the specialist and he's on vacation for 2 weeks, ok, call my Dr.'s office again she says only way we can do an appt. if you get here at 1:30 well I'm 1 1/2 hr. here without my vehicle, Suzanne and Paul and Wayne are in meetings with high executives so no way I can make it..almost beg her to call a few of her late appts. to see if she can switch me with someone later, she say's nope..so she tells me to go to emerge today (recommends it highly) I tell her I've been there 3 times and because of the situation they tell me to 'go to my Dr.' yep right back inline with no appt. - nope that's not correct, she gave me an appt. at 2:15 next Wedn. - more aggravating getting the run around than putting up with being uncomfortable...wouldn't you agree?

No I don't agree, but the run around is the salt in a gaping wound. Thank God that they are getting it.

dawn, saw that on the news we were wondering the same... nasty smell of fire has been in the air for a couple of days.
wish it would rain so we could be done with it!
it is just horrible this year how much has burned everywhere! they were showing all the animals in shelters oh my heart go's out to them,
just the thought of how those poor things must be anitcipating their owners to come get them makes me sick, just want to invite them to come hang out here.

Sorry there are fires again. We are to get rain this afternoon. I would send it that way if I could. I hardly ever watch the news so don't know what is going on all the time.

they said california is on fire when you look at all the areas that have been hit on the maps there showing it looks like it, just awful

OMG, hope you will all be ok..how frightening it must be..over all the years of fires, do you drive and see nothing or does growth come quickly..can't imagine it..

in most areas growth comes quick but on the larger fires looks terrible for a while

I know we will have another bad fire season too. California is on fire early this year, my gosh it is scary.

The house fire Liz, is about 15 min. from here and the second one that they are not sure if it is related to the first, is about 5 minutes from me.

Carole, OMG, I forgot to say how wonderful it was to see your Granddaughter. She is just so lovely. Congratulations on her Graduation! So sweet to have a rose for the moms. I love the photo of the two. Amazing how quickly they grow into young adults.

Well, today is a day of excitement lol because was fitted for teeth, but also a to hear that Friday, I will be hearing of my fate here at work. So, I'm feeling a little gut queezy, as I am almost posative I'll be walking. But, I am ok eighther way, Really! It is just the waiting on the final word which will be first thing on Friday Morning. LOL, most of my personal stuff is already gone, won't be much with the exception of a few items to take home...As i think about things, I have had an incredible 21 years of working with the most intellegent and gifted people, I've made many friends, learned an unbeleivable trade and i will be leaving my area nice and clean and organized, LOL unlike the way it was when I came in. Even better...I walked in with a full mouth of teeth and LOL, I'll be smiling with a full set to bid my office and friends goodbye! Thats pretty darned Cool.

Judy, almost want to say a prayer that you will 'keep' your job..know that even though you say you are ok with it, you'll be feeling so terrible...
Tomorrow isn't it that you'll get your new teeth to wear permanently, can imagine you smilling from ear to ear..the foreign feeling of having them in your mouth won't take long to pass, lordy I've had my upper and lower teeth since I was nearing 20, never take them out, NEVER, well maybe never becaue when they put me out a few weeks ago they made me take them out, remember telling the doctor they robed me of my teeth...but, if you perservere, you'll be eating steak, corn on the cob, anything that anyone with teeth can eat...going back to perhaps Friday being your last day of work, are they closing or just cutting back? tell us/tell us, truth now, what shall we pray for? more work or lady of leisure?

As far as Friday, Truth be told, I am honestly ready to close this chapter.
I have had an incredible run, but, I am tired of alot of things. My, good friend and once supervisor, has always told me when one door closes another opens.
I am really ready for the next door. It is time. I don't know what it is as of yet, but I will persevere on to whatever adventure is in store for me. Actually I look forward to the new horizon of challanges.
I've tossed around alot of ideas in my head, even have checked the want ads to see what is out there. All, I do know in my heart, is that I want to continue working with and for kids, or if that isn't possible i'ld like to work in nature. So many possibilities, I have a the rest of my life to decide, lol at least a year.
...And then again, if for some crazy reason I am to stay, then I will be learning a whole new way of this new outfit. (We are merging companies, many are already gone)

But you know whatever happens I will feel Thankful to have the opportuniity to have had this experience.

I hope that makes sense.

Betty the fires were murders and fires to cover them, our area is not on fire yet, give us a month or two, then our fires may come as well.

I sure hope not Dawn. How awful to have to anticipate fires like that every year. I'd go nuts worrying!

It's like earthquakes you just can't let yourself freak about what may happen and you can only do what you can if one hits.

Seems like it doesn't matter what part of the country we live in, there's some part of Mother Nature we have no control over. If it's not earthquakes, or hurricanes, it's tornadoes. If just no one would get hurt, I'd think that's a good thing. Keeps us humble!

lets not forget floods. That is scary.

Oh yeah, good old floods. It's been awful this year. We've missed the worst of it in this area, but up in the northern parts it almost makes youn sick to see.

Cat the pictures of deer hovering together on an island of dry land and dogs sitting on pieces of debris, kills me. Poor animals that drowned.

Hi everyone! I am back from New York! It was a quick trip but actually didn't feel rushed! We got up there close to lunch yesterday and a driver took us to the hotel where a HUGE stretch Suburban limo was waiting to take us out to the North Fork of Long Island to tour a few wineries. We visited 3 different ones and tasted some good wines. I'nm not a big wine drinker but if I do drink it, I like a sweet wine like a Reisling. Anyway, I have to tell you that I was totally surprised by Long Island and how beautiful it was as you got out on the island. There seemed to be a quaint garden center on every corner and all the houses were done in cedar shingles. And the breeze blowing off LI sound was awesome! I could live there in a heartbeat!

So I got back home around 4pm today and promptly started watering all of my plants that looked on the brink of death. We need some rain badly!

I've spent the last 2 hours working on our PC which now has some type of trojan virus and is drining us crazy! All because I downloaded a website for kids that was talked abou on the TODAY show a few weeks ago. It's called Kidzui and the concept is it's a gateway for your kids to go to thousands of "safe" sites without having a parent right over their shoulder. DS loved it but I noticed right away things started happening. I started getting these Explorer windows open up with spam; my automatic Windows updates showed disabled when it actually was enabled and everything ran like it was stuck in glue. I ran a spyware scan twice and it found tons of trojan stuff; removed it and then it would come back. So now we have to take the PC back to Circuit City and get them to clean it yet again. All of this after paying over $300 to get it cleaned and upgraded 2 mths ago PLUS another $60 for CA security suite and spyware doctor. I'd say the program we're using wasn't woprking!! Very frustrating!! Deep breath....

Now for the good news!!!

The puppies are here!!!!! It looks like they arrived on Sunday - 6 girls and 3 boys! So Murphy ahs his sister! They look like little furry potatoes! I've got to start thinking of a good name!!

So we've got some fun planned for the weekend. The Indy race come to Richmond Sat night and we will be heading over there with DH's 2 sisters and their DHs. I'm rooting for Danica to kick some butt!!! She is a spitfire!!! So I have to clean the house (YUCK!). Vaccum up all of Murphy's hair and scrub down 3 bathrooms! I HATE cleaning house!

OK, I'm off to bed now. I will check back in tomorrow
