Bless your heart, Lin! That is so unethical for those workers to make such a mess like that! No excuse for showing you and your property such disrespect! I'm glad it's finally over for you.
LOL Gail! I agree you're one tough lady! I would have passed out at the sight of that snake!!
I say do what you want to on the Botox. If you want it, do it! ^_^ I'm too much of a chicken to have anything like that done, so once again, you're proving that you're tougher than me! LOL

Oh no, Rain, you don't understand why I am even considering this. Lidocaine doesn't work to numb me, so they put an IV drip in my arm for sedation . So.....I just figured that while I couldn't feel anything anyway, I might consider having it done.
I am a coward when it comes to pain.. worse than a small child! I am much more afraid of the dentist or doctor than I am of the rattlesnake.
you guys are to funny.lol love the humor in this group. i think it's terrible the mess these guys made for the plantladylin, boy i think i would have told them a thing or too.maybe three.thats terrible..

Y'all are so sweet! It is such a shame that people can't take pride in their work and do a job as they would want done to their own home. I will say the roofers did a fantastic job and the owner of the company (who works right along with his employees) made the statement that they do as if it was their own home! It's a shame some of the pool people couldn't feel that way too. It is weird too that they have one group who only do the re-finishing, plastering of the inside of the pools (those guys really worked) and an entirely different group who do the deck resurfacing. The ones who did the deck are slackers in my opinion. My DH says he is going to have them come back Tuesday to do one more coat on the deck. He's afraid it would void any warranty if we do it ourselves. DH had to repaint all of the aluminum panels on the screen enclosure. I sure hope they don't slop more stuff on it when they are working Tuesday! We are getting ready to re-paint the back of the house today but I'm thinking we should wait - just in case.
Gail: You are one tough Granny ... Snakes scare the bejeebies out of me! LOL. I see one and run the other way. I was working in the yard last week and went to get a trash can from a bricked enclosure out back to put some branches in and a huge black snake came squiggling out! I dropped the trash can and went screaming for my husband. He had the biggest grin on his face. He thinks it's funny I guess. I just don't like snakes ... I won't kill a non poisonous one but they still scare me. When I see a snake I'm usually done working for the day!
Well, I hope everyone has a really nice Sunday! I will pop back in later this afternoon or evening.
Hello,
Have been gone for over a week now and I have missed allot... I have a question... I need to order pots.. I have up to 3inch and would like to order maybe 4inch... I need to know if someone can help me in telling me what is an Azalea pot? Also any place better to buy pot then another?
Thanks,
Susan
Azalea pot is a much shallower pot than normal.it's the same as a bulb pot. they use them for streps as the root system is usually shallow.it's just not as deep as your ususal pot.
mrsbonnie
I think that Violetshowcase and Cape Cod Violetry..........have the best pots........
everyone sells a 3" squatty which is only a temporary step for streps ..........then I also like to step up to a 3" standard or a 3 1/2 standard before I go to an azalea 4" or azalea 5"
good luck
Thanks for the info.... Allot of mine need to be repotted... Some can go into the 3 inch regular but others have to up to the 4 inch Azalea I will go shopping after this post.... Also do episica's do better in hanging baskets and if so how do they get there light? I am not being stupid here just can't figure that one out.... Also Kohleria some of mine are tall and need repotting and what do I put them in? Any body want to come over and help me repot? LOL Also when giving leaves away is it a no no to send someone a leaf that might have a brown spot on it from being to close to the lights? not rot or anything just a brown spot.??????
Thanks for all the help...
Hugs,
Susan
PS No one missed me! :-(
Can't get into Cape Cod Violetry. any suggestions?
Sue
I will email it to your home if you dmail me and give me your home email, Susan.
Here is how I am now growing my episcias......not that it matters to anyone......but just one more idea.................
I didn't cram an episcia in these jars.........just started with 2 or 3 stolons and let them grow.......they will start cascading over the sides before long
Well Thank you ladies! LOL
.I do eat alot of garlic Kim.My grandmother had brought me back a small rope of garlic from mexico years ago that I hung on the kitchen wall. This one is going in the frig.I don't want it to dry to much.Love the chirita!
Miss Lin Thanks I love that settee. It's my farvorite place to read.
Hi there Amy.Good to see you woman.Lovely streps you have growing!
Hey Dimmer, the garlic would work good for you but I don't think any of your fellow workers would go around you.Or maybe it would slow those cars down real fast.LOL.
Beautiful sinningias gail!
Did someone say cowboy??? If hes tall, dark and handsome (50's) and looks good in a pair of wrangler jeans send him my way will ya please.hee, hee
i try to keep my streps smaller, wehen they get big leaves like that i cut them off &^ sell them on ebay or swap with someone.
mrsbonnie
Please, oh, please, cut the leaf in half with pinking shears to make it look nice..........and I want to buy every leaf you cut for 1.50 each...............we can't buy and sell on DG so you have to just put them on theMarket Place...........
Another thought is to take all the leaves you cut and list them all together for a price of 12 for 16.00 ...........that is how I buy them from a man I know.........
But I bought 75 leaves from him for 65.00 on ebay..............just all kinds of strep leaves.......
I just like to buy and sell on the Marketplace among friends. Not to say that someday I might start selling on ebay.
So would you put them all in seperate bags and name them or just put in one bag un-named? This is so weird as I am not a seller... What would you put a Roulette Cherry or Roulette Azur as a price for a leaf?
Susan
Ok Ms. Bonnie what name do you sell under on ebay?
Susan
They are selling for 2.50 each on ebay...........You have to put them each in a zip lock bag with the right name, Susan. Besides, they wouldn't travel right with enough oxygen in the bag all mixed together.
Now, I need a nap but I am afraid you are going to put those on the Marketplace and I am going to miss them! (LOL)
What do you think you are going to do? You could price your 'hot' ticket leaves for 3 or 4 dollars if you wanted and price all the others at 1.50 each...........or gather a certain number together and sell all at once for about 1.25 each..........
4
these are all top heavy.
sue
Susan, you and I would be dangerous on ebay..........you didn't put their names when you posted the pictures (LOL)............when you get it figured out, please tell me !!
I am so dingy that I would have all my customers trashing me just because I couldn't get organized .....can barely do it on The Market Place.
I sell under the name of mrcslots, that name is really for my hubby, but it's what i use on ebay. I don't have anything on ebay right now. i used all my leaves in a swap.If you price them to high, no one will buy them. but azure maybe more & cherry roulette. 2.50 or so. just my advice.
mrsbonnie
I put some of my Episcia in glass too, Gail. They love it don't they?
Fred and I went out to lunch today, then I went to Michael's while he went into Best Buy nest door for a photo card for the newest digital camera.
When we got home, I asked him to take a picture of Sunlit Sugar Plum and me to show the size of the plant. I am so tired, so I look like it, but also, it is hard to see my hair, ha! I had a nice trim yesterday and you can't see it.
Well, you can see the PLANT. That is the reason for the picture. I was in a rush because after the surgery, she looked so nice, but has lost half her blooms now.
Wow Sally is that in a jar? I am so mad at myself... I just dropped my Roulette Azur one had roots two others don't... I want to cry. she was so pretty now she looks like crap.
Oh Gail those were not for names those were for size of pots... I have names on every plant I have except for the ones in the begining that I did not have names for... Off to cry somemore...LOL
Hugs,
Susan
Gail,
That is only the tip of the ice burg that needs cutting..LOL I really like them long but I don't have room for them all to be as long as they are...
Sue
Nice picture of both you and that giant african violet, sally! I think you look great!
Don't cry, Susan! I am trimming leaves all afternoon and rooting them. (That is why I have too many streps but I can't stop myself). Just gently put the leaf back in (very gently) and they will root I think.
The reason Bonnie doesn't have any leaves is because I took them and sent her leaves! They are looking good mrsbonnie!
I am not even at the point of trimming I was trying to repot today... I am so upset... at myself...
Sue
You dropped a big plant? I am confused. I thought you said it was leaves which dropped. I am just working away trimming leaves and sticking them as I owe someone 4 giant plants of streps from several weeks ago.
No, that picture is a Violet, I put some of the Episcia's in glass, but not a jar.
