A few more wide shots. This is to the right of the pool. Believe it or not, there is a walking path down in there.

Here's the entrance to the patio. The area in front of the steps is being seeded.

Off the porch steps and adjoining the patio. They ended up bumping out the beds a bit so I had more space to plant!

Your hiding in there.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

You have so much space! Just one of those shrubs in your front/side would take up most of my front yard.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not as much as I would like though! On that line - from the street along those shrubs, to the left of my blue spruce and all the way back to the edge of my property, is 205 ft. That's the longest dimension of the property, which is more or less wedge-shaped. Those cedars (Junipers) in the distance are also mine - about ten feet from the property line.

This was taken from the pond edge. Hosta June (in full sun) is at the bottom right, a few leaves of Fothergilla Mt. Airy can be seen at the lower left. DL in the forefront, with a dwarf blue spruce behind it. Behind that is an enkianthus, then Coppertina and Viburnum Blue Muffin. If you look closely below the left-most leaves of the Coppertina, you can see the teeny pink flowers of the unknown weed I posted yesterday. Unfortunately, there is chameleon in this bed too. The steel rod was for holding up a hummingbird ornament. It needs to be removed.

Very nice---love Hosta June---I need to do more with shrubs--basically, I just have them lining the fences on both sides of the yard--they look like soldiers---the bottom fence has the neighbor's arborvitae across it--looks quite nice. Here is some Achillea 'Pomagranate' with a noid yellow asiatic lily.

And my foxgloves, which were very nice this year.

Victor is that Cornus kousa 'Satomi' a clematis? Whatever it is - it is beautiful - I need one of those!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, Dawn - it's a dogwood. Not everything is a clematis!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And besides, you're already known as a dogwood killer...^_^

Love the astilbes, Allison. Your cleome beat mine. That's why I only bought the shorter delphs - not into staking.

Dang folks! I haven't been able to be on the computer much for the last few days and you've all had a lot to share!! Such great pictures to everyone! I really like seeing all the delphiniums!

Nanegoat, I am finally out of the rain and fog and the temperatures have been just a little below normal since Sunday! It has been so good to see the sun. Thanks for asking. So far the water levels have stayed at about what we usually call winter high water marks, basically considerably higher than usual (very much higher for this time of year) but only minimal amount of overflow. I'll post some pictures below. And nobody's even noticing that since we're all watching the midwest horrors. Now we're all just watching the dams since they're not usually this high, even with all the floodgates open! It's quite the site since we're not used to seeing all the floodgates going all the time!

DawnLL Glad to see that your rhodys and heucheras are coming around! what zone are you in that their
blooming this late?

Wha. Do you have a picture of your clematis in the redbud (maybe you already posted and I missed) I would love to see what that looks like.

Victor. I can't believe you only have a half acre. Your land is well spent!!! what an amazing place to hang out and enjoy. oh, and congrats on the anniversary!

GE, your new maple is very nice! Your yard is coming along very well.

Bbrook, where did you get your siced tiger iris? I love irises that have brown tones in them!
