Garden Photos - Part 16

Victor - that's not fair!!! I've got E. 'Jessie' but Rick whacked it back before flowering :( Planted it last year and it grew way of out control - 3' long stems that drooped over the driveway - so Rick got "on it" right away this year! Question, your container combo - is that a Begonia with the echoing leaf edges? I think it may be the same as one we picked up last week at Baker's :)

Patti, great timing on the shot of your "friend". I swear, I've never seen so many butterflies as this year but I never seem to have the camera handy!

Hi Debbie,

Yes, Jessie gets very big - one stalk is about 5 1/2 feet, though this year they are holding themselves upright. Yes, the plant is Angel Wing begonia.

Debbie, DH had the camera. I was dead heading, but I saw it too. Here is a new geranium for me, G.pratense' Double Jewel' Most of these pictures today are ones he took. Patti

Thanks, DH took them this morning. Here is Cancun from the eflower/4paws coop last spring for 3 for 1.80. All his bulbs are big and happy so far. I am a fan of Bleek for sure. Patti

Ge1836. I want one of the fuzzy gray ones on the far right. My garden is old, like me. It began in 1983. You will be amazed how fast yours fills up, even with your eyes closed tight.

Here is a climber, 'Westerland' Patti

That fuzzy one is part of a pair of brothers from Humaine Society.
Ben (seen here ) and Jerry,
Your Yellers are beautiful.
I'm waiting on nursery guys to plant the Acer and put in the fountain. I hate contracting, they never come on time and the job doesn't get done for days after they should have been finished.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love all your pinks & blues Patti

Me too - those are my favorite garden colors.

Ben has excellent camouflage!

The nesting birds freak out when he's around.
Pitty they don't realize he weighs 18 pounds and couldn't catch his shadow.

Ok, for all of you peony people don't hate me...

I was at a local nursery/garden center today, it is one that I frequent atleast once, maybe twice a week. I was walking through their 1-gallon perennials...and noticed a peony, but noticed the tag first, it said, ITOH...I was like, HOLY CRAP O LA (that was the PG version)...THEN...I said another HOLY CRAP O LA (little bit louder, and more NC-17)...it said 'Bartzella.' I was like, "oops, I did something in my shorts."

To make matters even better, a fellow Master Gardner (his family owns/runs this shop) told me there were 2 others, and that they were all 30% off...I was like, HOLY...ahem, "30% off of what...?"

Ya ready...!

Anyone who is even remotely familiar with this ITOH is gonna have a jaw drop at this one...

"30% off of $8.99."....I looked at him, almost fainted, think I almost did something in my shorts again, and repeated..."What off of what?" He looked at me like I had eight heads, and said, "30% off of $8.99."

So I bought all 3. So, now I have 3 ITOH 'Bartzella's' that I paid under $20 for!!!

WOOhOOOO

Oh, Thom! I am soooo happy for you!

Great find, Thom! Is that named for Bart Simpson??

Bartzella sounds like a Greek dish.
