Spring NE RU - Saturday June 28th 2008 - Part 2

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, {{{{{Kassia}}}}}, I hope you're feeling ok! That's too bad, 'cause we know how you loved your new job. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Japanese beetle therapy, which I've heard can be very effective.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you too!
I hope the weather is nice. Sunny, not too hot/humid.
What's the forecast look like, Kassia?

Nancy

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Kassia - what a difficult decision! It's so important to realize that health and sanity are worth more than any amount of money. Usually things like this turn into blessings in disguise - years from now you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner!

Looking forward to OUR RU!! And thanks again for your generosity: even more so during this time.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks Carrie... pray... I really need it! and when the jb arrive I will be ready for them ... I will remove every bloom so they don't eat them...

Nane, I told Pirl and Zuzu and their remarks were: oh you just wanted to be with your roses and working that much was not giving you enough time !!!! so the blessing in disguise is that I have time for gardening?

well, it's never easy to give up something good... and it was a good job, with wonderful people... and I really miss them... more than I believed I would... but it's life... maybe one day when I leave my current job I would go back... never know... I did not close the door... and I told them...

Nancy, according to the weather channel we are going to have 40% chances of rain :( hope no rain... around 80's... well I hope it does not rain...

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia, do we want door prizes? I have a few garden-related items - maybe for longest-traveled, stuff like that?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

bring it over if you want to... I did not think about that... actually if anyone has gardening things they don't want... maybe they can find a home for it!!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Is there such a thing as a gardening thing a gardener doesn't want???? LOL

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I'd like another gardener. You know ... one about my age and single and of the opposite sex.
(Oh my!! Did I just say that!!!!!!??????)

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Line forms to the left. . .

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I won't be able to make it after all :-(
I'm sure it will be a good time missed.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Ohhhh too bad Deb! (Yes, you did, Candyce, I read it.)

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

yeah Candyce you did it!!!! well, maybe Dave should start a gardening date thing going!!!!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

o no - i'm sorry Debilu!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh, Debilu!!
I feel so badly for you. I know how much you wanted to come.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

well, can you come another day to visit me??/ well, not that I am selfish at all!!!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh, bummer Deb! I'd love to meet you some other time.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I know, I can't wait to meet everyone someday.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Gosh, Deb, I am very disappointed...so wanted to meet the flesh version of you!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Me too!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What happens if it rains?

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

We get wet.

;o)

Plants might not have to be watered.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Kassia has a large garage.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It's not gonna rain!
I have so decreed!

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

We can have a car washing party.

LOL!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I never wash my car.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I knew I'd get "wise guy" answers. You guys (or should I say gals?) are too funny!!!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I washed and vacuumed my car for the first time in years just last week. It won't need another cleaning for a couple more years now.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Even after carrying all those dirty plants?

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Bah, yup. You should've seen how many dirty plants, loads of dirt, mulch, all kinds of buggy things I've hauled in that car. Usually it gives the spiders something to eat.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I hope you guys all have a great time on Saturday at the RU and have a beautiful sunny day. Wish I was going and hoping to be able to make one some day!! Take lots of photos. Eleanor

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Wish you were coming Eleanor, we'll miss you ! I do have a daylily for you...I haven't gotten around to dividing it yet but when I do you will be the first to get a piece of "Lady Eleanor".

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Oh, thank you Celeste! That is so sweet of you. I have bought daylilies before because of the name such as Double Ethel (Ethel was the nickname my father called my mother) and Hudson Valley (cause I live in the Hudson Valley). Someday I want to get the clematis, Geurnsy Cream, cause I lived on a farm when i was growing up. My nephew's twin boys said Geurnsies weren't real cows cause Grandpa had holsteins, but i haven't seen a flower named holstein yet!!! LOL Sorry for rambling, but thanks again! Eleanor

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I wish you were coming, too, Eleanor.

If everyone that yaps here showed up, it would be one great celebration.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

you guys are right... the garage is clean... not greatly organized but by 1 am, I finished getting rid of several things and guess what the garage is presentable... I plan to have the food there so if it rains all we have to do is to come inside...

Eleanor: wish you were coming... by all means you are one of the people I really want to meet!!! and like someone above said, I wish I could meet the flesh version of you!!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh, guys and gals. I am so sorry. Anna's DH just received word that a dear family friend has passed away. Services, or at least the important one for him, is tomorrow. Anna and I will not be attending the RU. I feel so bad!

I have the list of who wants what for plants. Anna and I will mail out all the requests later in the week.

So sorry Candyce would love to meet you and Anna as we are so close. Family IS more important than the RU so dont feel bad.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Thank you Sherrie, for your understanding. I hope that those of you who live close to me will stop in and visit. There is no formal invitation necessary - just a phone call to let me know you are on your way. The coffee pot is always on. And there are always your choice of weeds to pull!
