You found the answer before I got to this thread, Dave. Acadia was wonderful.
Spring NE RU - Saturday June 28th 2008 - Part 2
Hey Dave!!! Where've you been????
oh you guys, I smell everything... a bad habit I have... don't know why...
The loss of taste and smell is a condition that comes on some people as they age. It also can be of short duration.
The condition is called neuofspra(sp) Google it and see if they correct the missspelling.
My sister had it for years, imagine coffie that tasted like cuqumbers. She has regained some of her taste and smell.
Good to regain anything that you've lost!
Great photo Nance. I had them for a second time when I was forty. My friends got new eyelids and larger...bodices.lol What was supposed to take 18 months turned in to several years. No regrets now.
Lack of or limited ability to smell is called anosmia. It can be caused by hundreds of factors, including viruses, diabetes, and hypertension and can be temporary or permanent. Much as I love food, that would be a tough one for me.
Laurel
A-Nose-Mia!!!
I have beautifully straight teeth. Dentists always comment on my orthodontia. But they are brown, and some of them are browner than others! If I change one thing, cosmetically, that would be it. Whiter teeth.
Hi Jen! I've been around, but less. Recently my laptop stopped getting internet, so I'm around even less. It just blocks out the wireless router. So we are back to 4 people sharing 1 computer at home.
Acadia is wonderful.
My sense of smell is diminished too. At times (like raising 4 boys) that was a good thing, but sure wish I could smell the flowers more or when dinner is burning - lol. I do get whiffs of things now and then though.
When I was out in OR. last week I helped DS landscape the strip between the street and sidewalk. Sections of used brick to place their garbage cans, groundcover with mulch and interspersed with rocks they pick up from Mt. Hood everytime they visit relatives on the other side of the mountain. The rocks IMHO made the strip look nice. .
I'm overly sensitive to smells. My hubby is just the opposite may be from all the hot foods he eats, dulled the senses.
Jan, the bricks and stones sound nice, I'm trying to decide what to plant in my strip.
David, it's not something you can reset or one of those unplug-it-all-for-two-minutes-then-try-again type things, is it? Can you call 1-800-com-cast? lol. We miss you.
We tried everything. Sometimes my DW has even gotten it to work temporarily. It's weird. For now I'm competing for the desk top.
My apologies to folks I told the perennial anemones were fall bloomers. I guess late summer is more accurate.
Have you noticed that the trees are ALREADY starting to color here? Maybe it is really not late Summer but early Fall and the anemones are right on time.
Thanks Yankee for the vote of confidence!
Actually, I think I see less tree stress color change this year. I thought all the rain had helpped.
I am watering most of my garden areas for about the 2nd time today. Pretty amazing.
I'm in Arizona! I don't know what if anything my anemone is doing!!!
Hope it's a great trip!
NO NO GO BACK
Oh my God! That's not the stress of drought either. I guess that saying ME has 2 seasons (July & Winter) really is true.
That picture was taken on Aug. 16th in Turner, Maine. I could of cried....not over it's beauty either!
that is depressing
