B-E-A-utiful! Love the pix but even more, love the sunshine. Still waiting for it here, but rumor has it we will be honoured with its presence this weekend! There are no blooming surprises here, most everything seems to be in a holding pattern. Buds appear and in slow-motion will open, eventually.
And I love the hats on your leetle friends.
And Neo ~ Sorry...just noticed the request for the columbine seeds. You betcha! I bought a pack from Costco that was supposed to be 30 McKana's Giant. Ends up there are only a few McKana's, a BUNCH of Nora Barlow's and this one. Hmmm. . .go figure!
(Edited to add): Just Googled and I think it may be a "Black Barlow"

Whats Blooming outside your door part 3
Bea ~ My tomato and peppers are still seedlings under the grow light! Can't even put them outside yet, though my straw bales are cooked and waiting! There's nothing like tommytoes straight from the garden, eh?
Great pictures everyone....send the sun north now and share with us too...lol
Anjl..it sure is fun to create a garden from scratch. You are doing a fantastic job. Your flowers look very happy & healthy. Can't wait to see more pictures!
First blooms on my Ebb Tide rose. Blooms were much bigger last year..but there are tons of buds this year. I guess more buds, smaller blooms. Either way a lovely rose and it smells great!
Anjl...what a beautiful garden you've made. Nicely done!
Bea...I want that frog!! Can't do a pond though, the raccoons rule around here. Too hard to keep them out.
Beautiful day today, we're off to Elkton tomorrow, to see the Butterfly Pavilion. I've never been, so I'm excited.
Just got in and it's cold out there!!! My grass is still so wet that the mower keeps choking. Where's our heat? Where's our sun?
Great photos you guys.
Sally, I want to hear about your trip tomorrow.
Love the doggus gigantus and pequenos. Soooo cute.
Love the tree frogs. I had tons of them last year and none this year.
I sure hope they return one day. They are so cute! Last year I would
go out to my pond at night and the tree frogs would be clinging and climbing up my white fence. It was quite a show.
Had more bull frogs last year also. Maybe someone in the neighborhood put in a bigger & nicer pond than mine and they are hanging out over there.
a wee little one found last year.
Love the wee frogs!!
What I can't figure out is how little bitty frogs can make SO MUCH NOISE. We have a run off ditch behind our yard that gives a wonderful serenade every spring LOL.
katie..sure thing, I'm charging both cameras in case I have problems with my new one.
Thanks, Sally. You guys are all such great photographers that I'm pretty spoiled . . .
oh, I cant wait for mine to make noise! lol! I'm hoping they will drown out the sounds of the freeway behind my house!
Bea, looks like we have the same species... is yours a pacific tree frog?
mine are the size of my pinky fingernail! they are so tiny I almost missed seeing them! LOL!
another DGer caught a bunch of polywogs and gave me 9 of them... so its been fun watching them transform into froggies. My son is loving it! he and I were on a mission a few years back to find some polywogs...and never found any. so for him its like a mission completed! lol!
Anjl..not sure what species those little frogs are. This picture shows how really small they are. I was looking at a web site tonight for some aquatic plants and this company also sells tadpoles. I thought about it for a while and decided against getting some. I will just wait to see if mother nature & the local frogs will provide me some. :).
I wanta know how you got the frog to pose next to the penny? LOL
To cute.
I was always warned to not order tadpoles,or even buy themat the pet stores cause they are not native....
thus the yearly hunt... just didnt know we were looking in all the wrong places! lol!
lol, ya, once my froggies hatched... I never see them again..they are so tiny!
The doggus giganticus is a love, also the pequeno variety. The frogus teenyweenimus are so endearing as well.
LOL
Great photos! I don't think the ones we get around here are quite that small - how adorable.
I haven't seen frogs at my place.. I tried to introduce them a couple of years ago and got some little ones but I don't know where they went. Here is one of them on a waterlily leaf in my pond. I am noting that this photo was taken April 8 2006. Take a look at the size of the water lily leaf. I don't have anything that comes even close to that yet.
I think the baby frogs look like jewelry.
These tiny frogs are amazing. Pix, that little guy must feel like he's on a huge waterlily boat.
Great photos as usual! Your lupine is perfect! May all the others grow as nicely.
Bea,
More wonderful flowers and pictures! Aren't the Lupine wonderful, they are so under used, same for the Wallflower. I have more Lupines from seed to find a home later this summer too. My big Wallflower should be finished this year, but we will see I have had one that lasted for 4 years.
I tried a California tree Lupine here a few years ago and it did not like the wet so much. I trimmed out the middle of my raspberry Lupine and it looks okay as long as you are not close to it...lol, it still looks like an animal laid down in it!
Here is my newest Dutch Iris, this is the only Yellow and White one...Love IT!
Love the Doc statue. I have all seven of the Rhodies that are named after the Seven Drawfs. I need a statue like that for each one so I will remember which is which.
cocoajuno.Thanks. I am really loving the lupines too! In fact I visited the Oregon Gardens yesterday and bought a package of Seeds: Lipinus perennis. This appears to be a very tall slender light purple one from the picture. Looks great.
Willowwind.. great idea to mark your rhodies. This one I bought at Rite Aid.. I am sure you could find all 7 dwarfs on e-bay ...
Cute idea...
Found some interesting plants at the Oregon Garden Yesterday.
to share a few lets begin with this one. It was so pretty with leaves like a wild iris..lon and thin but these pretty buttery yellow
flowers. The only plant marker I could find was a nursery plastic one lying on the ground. (not OG normal way of marking plants) Anyway I noted the name from the tag..and of course it was not for this plant.. If anyone knows the name..I would love to have it. Great looking plant...
