I was reading over on the plumeria board and you can have inflos before leaves. I have the opposite going on. Lots of big leaves and no inflos. I think I'm not giving them enough water, everyone said they don't like water blah blah blah. I think they're like the rose growers. They simply have to make life difficult for themselves. LOL> I need to take a picture of my cutting. It's a little over the top for a cutting.

rednyr- yep I love that plant. It eats flies and I requires lots of moisture in full sun. So... I found the perfect place.. right in the path way of the drip drain from the A/C unit. hehehe worked like a charm, 5 years strong.

deanna- ha ha thanks!

Core- the reason they dont need much water is because plumerias are succulent plants. they store a lot of water in their branches. they do appreciate having water, but really dont need very much. i havent watered mine at all since they've been outside, and they are going great. Also, you want to be careful with new cuttings. they should have been allowed to callous over at the bottom of the cutting (about a week for a good callous). this helps prevent rot, which affects over watered cuttings(new and old) especially if it is cool outside, which you shouldnt have to worry about now. just dont kill them with kindness. these thrive in California and the desert, and are native to rocky South American soil and are perfectly happy growing out the side of a cliff, so naturally they dont need water, yet they can take daily rains as long as their feet arent constantly we and soaked. the best thing for blooms is full sun (not on pavement), heat, and a little fertilizer

I love that coreopsis. Is it Limerock Ruby? I was hoping that it would become available at premium annual prices at the big boxes eventually. I have not had good luck overwintering any of the threadleaf ones.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Chamthy: It's a Limerock, but at the moment, my brain won't come up with the variety. It's not Ruby, but I can't recall which it is. I did get it at a "big box", though.

Checked the tag. It's Limerock "Passion". :)

rebecca I saw your smart set up with the white tube in the back and wondered if you were being water wise diverting to the plant...u r so tricky! LOL where did you get your pitcher plant BTW...it seems like a cool plant to add to the yard...

Nice coreopsis Deb!

Wheels turning, hmmm not a bad idea. My A/C water goes into a butterfly bush which doesn't need it any ways. Pitcher plant might be a good idea.

hehe I love it when I get wheels turning. lol
*wink*

That is a cool pitcher plant and it looks so very happy there. The water that comes out of my AC leaves a hard white crust on the ground. I suspect, since it is extracting it from the air, that it has a lot of salt in it. I tried an EE there and it never did well.

Sumter, SC(Zone 8a)

ahh aredesia the joys of living coastal eh? well there are still way cool things growing in your yard....going back down Myrtle Beach way soon...the son is coming back from Indiana and I told him I was coming to organize his house since his room mate moved out and left the place a disaster I offered to clean in exchange for staying there and not having to pay for a hotel LOL

Anyone been to the Hard Rock Park yet?

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful plants everyone. Chamthy, you've just reminded me that I was going to plant crinums this year. Oops. Oh well, I'll just admire yours. The tapioca is cool, I've never seen that.

Here's part of my backyard. My gardening scheme is "garish." ;*>

This is out the back door. If knockout roses had a scent, they'd be just about perfect. The little plant at the bottom left is one of the heat tolerant fuchsias and it's been doing really well.

Hey Jenny, I am about to rid the garden of a large clump of Ellen Bosenquets; they are yours if you want to dig 'em. The main bulb is about the size of a VW but there are plenty of pups. Eat your Wheaties and come on over.

Sumter, SC(Zone 8a)

bordersand - what is that behind to the left of the cannas that is tall? is that a b'fly bush or ??? I love your mix of colors...you are a man after my own heart...
