What pretties everyone has in June.

Tom, I am so envious of your caelsapinia; mine never blooms. Maybe I am not feeding it enough.

Deanna, Lotus what???? Whatever, it is gorgeous.

oh and I meant to tell ya'll I went to the Lowes down in Myrtle Beach when I p/up my son last week returning from Costa Rica (Core - he says the women are beaauuuttiiiful there lol but he didn't run into any angry chicken monkeys while at the Natl Park - but he did get offered a job there next summer for the college for his masters work internship woo hoo, paid too with a house...but of course you know how bad pay is in costa rica but hey free food n housing is coolio)

ok so anyhow went to lowes and picked up some varigated sweet iris that I never see around here and also a Viburnum that I have been having a hard time finding around here( I wanted the old timey one - not the chinese snowball - so anyways was glad to find those two things)

Tried to get the BF to stop at a few nurseries off the beaten path on 378 on the way home but guess what

My car died due to a certain son listening to music all night long on my car radio while we were at round up...we had charged it but obviously it wasn't taking the charge for long so there we were...full from eating a buffet and having to walk to a wally world to get a battery....needless to say nursery shopping went out the window after walking in the heat and carrying a battery...LOL

Oh and IRIS - ur DL's are so pretty....However, do I see a trend here with Americas Most Wanted, Canadian Border Patrol, Trooper????? LOL gotta love the names

Is Dark Star very wide across? I have an unknown pass a long that gets about 6" across, perhaps a little more and it looks very sim. to Dark Star.....

I learn something new all the time on DG. Had to do a bit of research on Red's lotus. It had never occurred to me there was a genus Lotus that had nothing to do with the water plants we call lotus. Red's plant is indeed a lotus and the water plants are, of course, in the genus Nelumbo. Common names got me again............

There must be some connection there; anyone know?

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Rednyr: love that lotus, whatever it is exactly! :)
Iris: I have "Dbl River Wye", too. One of my favorites. That Open Hearth is a stunner! Any idea of a source for that one?

Not the best photo of Society Garlic bloom.

DebinSC, I think the garlic bloom is really pretty! DRW bloomed for the first time this year and I love it too!
You can get Open Hearth here http://www.daylilyandhostagardens.com/
When you go to the site, Just press on the daylily link on the left and go to the O's and you will see it there, I believe the price on it is $8.00. Also, She has a sale going on if you want to see the list of sale cultivars she has just check out the classifide ad link here at daves. She has some GReat plants there!

darn but we are surely a gifted bunch of picture takers...I think we should start a book and aptly name it just how trent named this month with the caps emphasis on the month and all those exclamation marks to get ya drooling....

LOVE your Caribbean Reggae Moon so doubly pretty..no pun intended..ok one was...

and Debin...your Merle Kent puts mine to shame...so pretty pretty pretty...

That's not a bad idea red. Simply "Blooming in SC". 12 chapters of pictures with a little chapter at the beginning and end. Some of the pictures here are top notch and add that to the wild range of not so common plants. Might actrually be a seller.

Sumter, SC(Zone 8a)

well I think its a bang up good idea and I think the cover should be your car moving those poor naner trees....the book title could be "Blowing in the Wind.. Carolina style" LOL

but seriously...u r right Core...there a so many pics of neat plants you just don't see alot of. (but I'm just a yank who is sooo happy to plant anything but evergreens)..and of course we would have to write a chapter on "Zone Pushers..The New Millenium (sp?) Drug"
