butterfly bush 'pink delight'
Blooming in JUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to be continued....
DebinSC, Your Welcome! What an awsome photo of Merle Kent ! Quite the eye catcher!
Champthy, Really like that Caribbean Reggae Moon and nice photo of Salvia chamaedryoides!
diehrdsouthrnr, Love that lady baltimore, plumbago, And baja breeze!
Hope you all can bear along with me here, I just moved to SC a year and a half ago and had to start all over again with the plantings and there was nothing much at all here to work with! It's been so hot and humid here lately and not much is growing or looking as it should and I don't want to take a photo of a plant thats not looking as it should just to be able to post something so the best I can do right now is my Daylilys, At least some of those look good, Hope you all don't mind seeing more of them..... I'll get other photos as soon as things start looking half way decent again. ....Siloam June bug
I haven't seen any hummers yet? They usually love my MG's around dusk. Think I'll have to look for them tonight.
IRIS I love ur Peacock Maiden! that has got to be the most beautiful DL I have seen in a long while..(ok so purple is my fav. color so that may have something to do with it) My bee balm just bloomed - I planted it last year and it did not do diddly squat...this year it is giving me some color..in course...purple LOL
Trent - gotta love the Ermine...tell me how you grafted your root stock on the Plumi! UR so smart....You will one day be the most famous Horti from SC..you got it in your blood young man...u r gifted!
core _ I am with you I have't seen an HB yet either...weird huh...
and Chamthy - your Delphiniums look awesome! love the color mix....
loving the balloon flowers right now...
Rednyr: I'm with you. I just added "Peacock Maiden" to my "gotta get it" list!
Iris: You're an enabler! ;-)
Deb
I had my ffo on Peacock Maiden this morning or i would be right in there with y'all. That's a great picture of it. What software do you use? I have photoshop but am just learning how to do the basics so far.

coreHHI, The little flying jewels have been at my place for about a month now, Keep a close eye out at your MG's.
Great photos as always everyone!
chamthy, I really like the depth in your catanache pic.
rednyr, Thanks! you need to post a pic of your purple bee balm, Would like to see it! Is it the dark purple or light?
The Balloon Flowers look great! And resuing that lily 'Did" pay off, That looks Great too! ~"So pretty I could eat it"~Had to laugh on that one!!! hardy begonias are nice, But my eyes were stuck on the angel! Just love that Angel statue!
DebinSC, Is that a bad thing??? lol!
Chamthy, I use Paint Shop Pro 7, It's an older version, But, I really like it as it is easy to use. Can do a whole lot more with photo shop though! I hope your getting help on learning how to use yours, As I've heard it has quite a learning curve.
diehrdsouthnr, That silver squill is so neat looking! I don't know why but it really reminds me of toad lilys for some reason.
Love how exotic looking BOP is!
I guess lady baltimore did show off! Always nice to have a lot of blooms!! So pretty too!
Heres mine for today.. Sambo wilder
Trent - ahha!! so thats what you gave me...squill....it is doing awesome and bloomed already...so glad you posted a pic of it so now I can remember what it is!
Iris next time we go up to see the grandkids in Simpsonville I am gonna have to steal by your house and swipe a Maiden LOL of course I could bring you a cutting of the Dutchmens pipe - which has several more baby pods all over it and another pod just bloomed yesterday
Anyone else get that storm last nite! Holy Toledo we had so many lightening strikes I told the kids unplug anything you value cause my mom had sparks come out of several of her electric outlets...she needs to call someone to check their grounding I would think....
Yikes, she surely does. I have told this story before but when we were in Columbia we got hit often and I can't tell you how many TV's we went through. We finally discovered that our grounding wire, which came out of the meter box and goes down into the ground, was not properly clamped to the grounding rod - which is in the ground (DUH).
Corrosion had built up between them. A bit of steel wool action and everything was fine afterward.
Good luck to her. And, I envy you the rain, none here at all.
wow Aredesia thats pretty scary, I just called my mom and told her your advice...she will call NEC
redyr, I wouldn't have a problem with that at all except for the fact that all I have of it is a double fan with a little shoot coming off the side, Am really thinking about going up to the DL place and getting me another though!
The storm sounded scary for a lot of people in different areas, Got a few bits of lighting here but nothing really scarry.
ardesia, Good thing you found out about the grounding wire, Thats really scarry!!
Few Blooms for Today ...Sorry, It's mostly daylilys again.. Yellow Mammoth..
ardesia, That Blueberry Thrill is so neat!!
coreHHI, The little flying jewels have been at my place for about a month now, Keep a close eye out at your MG's.
Looked last night and they're here. I can never get a good picture of one though.
Iris: Don't be sorry about posting photos of DL's. I love them! That's a beatiful shot of that Time Window.
Ardesia: The Blueberry Thrill is amazing!
I hadn't seen any hummingbirds in a few weeks but spotted one this evening feeding on some Cuphea. I think you're right, Core. They seem to like to come out at sunset.
Deb
Iris - LMK if you go...BTW do you know about the visit several of us are planning to Plants Delight in July? U R welcome join us...Bev and Kara have the thread here:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/829151/
...The first bloom of the dutchmen fell to the ground today - I am anxiously awaiting to have it dry out to see what seeds can be had..if any will mail you some so you can try your luck that way!and quit apologizing for your passion for DL's ...you have so many beatiful ones you should show them all off to us..I for one am loving how pretty they all are....
Core - send some HB's this way please...still none...but then again...they were always most active in the am when I am already at work now so who knows....the ants however, have climbed up one feeder and been staking out some sweet juice LOL
Aredesia - I concur with Iris...your Blueberry Thrill is something ...Fats Dominosurely had that in mind when he sang his song! ( ok so Fats din't write it but neither did Louis Armstrong who sang it first..but they both would gladly climb that hill LOL)
