I almost picked that date for the bloom... then I realized the anniversary wasnt quite as 'around the corner' as I thought lol!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

That is one beautiful flower!! Congrats Kimarj and Anjl.

Anjl that pink brug will perfectly complement your roses...

This has been so fun. Kimarj, Abbis, Beck, Anjl, Sami, and of course, Lady Clem, it has been a pleasure meeting you. We have a good brug newbie group and I think we all had a romantic side come out. Tee hee.

I'll be watching for your posts. Since I don't have a brug, I'll post you a morning glory pix. :))Peg

I have enjoyed this tread also.. TY KIM for all the fun!!

I have also enjoyed meeting all of you... and becoming "friends"... we'll see each other again!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Was indeed fun! I love MG's but unfortunately they take more sun than I have in my yard. The color is very nice.

Take care everyone, I am sure we will meet again.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Yeah I'll miss you all, I am crying already! And Peg, your morning glory looks like a brug, looking up to the sky, goegeous color! Love to all, Clemen

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

wow peg! that is a beautiful color! I have MG's but I dont like how they die off and then reseed themselves all over my yard :o( If I could get them to just stay put, and grow with an evergreen ivy.... oh well!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

You gals crack me up!! lol. Were not breaking up...we just got started : }.
My MEM...Miss Emily Mackenzie is opening!!!!

Kimarj, So when fo you start the next contest, we're all waiting right guys??? Clem

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Need for things to grow some : )... anjl your cutting has tiny buds I hope they survive the trip.

Last year noid

Thumbnail by kimarj
(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

ohhh Kim... I love that goldy noid.... that is a gorgeous color.... keep the pics coming... I wasn't ready to leave ya'll yet anyway..LOL

I have been sooo worried about my brugs... the wind has been terrible the last 4 days... dry and hot to boot. I bought some metal rod things and I put them in and they helped a bunch... have ya'll seen them? They have a circle at the top and you can slide the stalk inside the circle. Pretty neat!!

Midwest City, OK(Zone 7b)

Clem, you nailed it. That was the only "trumpet" flower I had comparable to a brug. And yes, they can be invasive, Anjl but the color reverses on me, so out they go. I replant every year.

Kimarj, your MEM is very pretty. How many brugs do you have? We have the one that is our favorite pink, the MEM and now the noid...

Beck, I know what you are talking about. We have had 96 + degrees and about three days of 35 to 40 mph winds. I thought it was Anjl's warm thoughts going through here. :) "Whoosh" Tee hee. But, brugs are actually related to Jimson weed, which grows wild in our area. Ask any cattleman. I think they will survive the winds, though they may not look like "specimen" plants all the time.

Abbis and Samigal, you need a brug for your well-being and,,, oh my mind just went blank on what else to add. My work shift starts at 3 a.m., so I lose it about this time.

And take time for an old comfortable hug, everybody needs an extra hug... from an online friend, a lover, a dog, a child or a beautiful flower that shows its face to us.

Peg

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

Peg... sorry! LOL! I didnt realize I was blowing in 40 mph warm whooshes! I guess I got a little carried away! LOLOL!

((HUGS)) to all!

AnjL

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Rotflol!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yeap, you are so right. I am fighting temptation about getting a brug as it is. Want to learn more about them and decide on a location. My yard is sun challenged! My trees are in jeopardy. HOA to deal with also --about removing unhealthy trees! Thinking, thinking,

Stay safe everyone with this really weird weather.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Too funny : ) ... I had three brugs last summer....then I was gifted cuttings from some very generous DGer's...some made it others went to brug heaven : ( So now i have about six named brugs that should bloom for me this season. Don't work to hard Peg!! Love me some MG's...those stakes are cool beck. Hugs all around. Nite!!
Kim

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Peg, did I say Brug, looking up the sky is a Datura, oops.

Kim, it took two years for your cuttings to bloom? I got quite a few cuttings too this year and I got some y, I was hoping at least one of the new cuttings would bloom. Do you think I have a chance? Clemen

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

hey clem... I just got my rooted cuttings in April.. I think it was, and I think I might have a Y too..... since I don't realy know what I am looking for it might be wishful thinking... better go check that thing again...LOL
