Jody, could you add an artemisia limelight to my list? I had some but when I was pulling the chocolate mint this afternoon, it appears the mint has crowded it out. Guess I need another spot for it. I would love an iris too, since you're trying to get rid of them. LOL
Haves - Wants Pt II - May Swap
Hart,
From all the pots of Ajuga I had dug up for you--only 5 pots have survived.....They are all YOURS!
In case any of you missed it--I have dug up some of my Northern Sea Oats seedlings. Have filled 3 cell-packs with them--multiples in each cell. So far no one has expressed any interest in these--but I am bringing them anyway. These grow anywhere! Dry?--No problema! Crappy soil?--No problema! Bugs eating everything?--Not these!
I will also have a few cell packs of extra dug up Red Cherry Tomatoes. ALL volunteers!
Some extra Tiger Lily babies too......
Took quite a bouquet of cuttings from my Bob Hope Camellia for Happy. Have them in water. More than she will need! If you "think" you may know how to root these, you are welcome to some. I am pruning the whole bush back this season. It has gotten too lanky. Can take more cuttings IF you post tonight.
My car is all packed----Everyones "orders" are boxed----the routes are all taken care of----My Pirags are all thawed out----Lithuanian "hooch" is in my tote---got my hair trimmed, so I can look more "beautiful" for you all......well----------for John anyway--isn't he the only male coming? (sorry, Ruby! I know he is all yours!!!)....
Leaving tomorrow at 9AM from my house and meeting up with Sally and Shirley at 10AM. just outside of Columbia, MD.
Still need to shower and pick out my clothes to wear for tomorrow. It is a toss up between my "poodle skirt" with 2 petticoats--OR-- my Nehru jacket with my white, silk, bell--bottom pants....."floods" would also work.
Got the coordinating beads all picked out (chose the long, multi-strung ones and also one made all out of sea shells) just can't decide on the belt! I have the wide, macraméd one--with tiny wood beads knotted in--all over--OR--the metallic one with silver loops all hooked together and closed with some black, leather ties--with little bells on the ends.
Then for the shoes..........I really want to look "in".....I have my black and white "saddle shoes"--in case I choose the poodle skirt, OR--a pair of Earth Shoes sandals. They should be really comfortable.....especially, if I have to trek through some "earth"....
AND!!!!!! I am NOT wearing a Bra!!!!! I refuse!!!!!!
Hmmmmm...decisions...decisions.....
Gita
Now I can relax! I HATE leaving important stuff to the last minute! I need to know everything has been taken care of.....just my "modus operandi"!
The car is pretty full in back... and Bobbie and Terri still have to fit their plants in! I'd better quit. Nutmegnana brought over a huge box of DLs and honeysuckle cuttings... got those in back, too. There are 4 big tubs/boxes of plants and one smaller box with the phlox and some other goodies, plus some pots of taller stuff. It always takes more room than I think it will! With luck, Bobbie will be able to slide a couple of her flats on top of my boxes, maybe slide her table underneath them.
Chantell, my apologies but I ran out of steam before getting to the scented geranium cuttings. I'll see if I can root some and either get them to you another time or ship them. I don't think I've got room for Torenia or basil seedlings, either.
OMG, Cow pots! I'm going downstairs right now. Got to fit those into the car.
Wyldeflwr: The "Blackberry Trifle" Balsam has your name on it.
jody- dwarf iris me if you get this, and yarrow if its big, not paprika
happy- I want burgundy ajuga
Chantell/critter- spoiled my surprise, I have a nice Attar of Roses for Chantell, after taking a cutting to keep for myself- originally from critter of course!
Gita- what a hoot!
Sally, I'm so happy to hear that! LOL, I had a really wretched little leggy thing that I was going to bring Chantell... I will leave it home! :-)
While I was downstairs packing up Becky & Chantell's cow pots, well... there was this chorus of "Oh! Pick me! Pick me!!" from the light shelves. Before I knew it, I had also packed up a little box of assorted basils and another box of (12) Torenia (6 for Happy) and (18) Balsam Impatiens. Gosh, I hope Terri & Bobbi realize most of their stuff is going to have to fit into the back seat, LOL! We'll get it all in somehow. Or I'll leave some things at Terri's place!
As I have been following the thread on what people are bringing I can not WAIT to see all the stuff gathered in one place!! This will be something to see for sure :-)
So looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow - of course it is now 12.40 AM and I am nowhere near sleepy!!
Hmmmm - Where for art thou (post that I "thought" I'd put here - ugh)
All - please do not stress out over anyone's requests....just cuz i ask for it doesn't mean I want the guilt of thinking you were pressed about getting everything together...I honestly just plain can't wait to see everyone!!! Plants or no plants!! That being said - Jill you gave me cuttings last fall (I think fall)...that you'll be happy to know are still alive (amazing, I know). Not sure what they were...but they're in their own whittle pots. ^_^
Sally - please don't give me YOUR plant...I'll take the cutting...gracious...the guilt will kill me, I tell you!!
Gita - TMI re the bra...ROTFLOL....good nite - I haven't given a thought to what I'm wearing...Becky will tell you it's just not high on my priority list. Unless of course someone's bringing me a single guy that i'd be interested in...then I'll put forth some effort....even brush my tooth...I mean teeth...LOL Ok...getting silly...time to go to bed...nite all...see you in a few.
Larlienda: You asked for Sedums, but I never confirmed whether you want the low growing kind, or the tall ones (like Sedum Autumn Joy). I assumed the former, but for no particular reason. I also have Autumn Joy, but everyone has that so I assumed you wouldn't want it. Let me know. (I posted this question for Jody a while back by mistake -- I meant it for you. Hope you catch it!)
happy, any kind is fine as i have plenty of places i want to have a different kind of ground cover than poison ivy and poison oak :-)
lynda
wyldeflwr - you dmailed me about the pig's ear and night blooming epi - I didn't hear back from you.....last call!! ^_^ If I don't "see" anything before I head to Becky's in a couple hours I'll at least bring the Pig's Ear....just don't want to cut on the epi (she's huge no worries) unless someone wants it.
Chantell, in that case, you've probably already got cuttings of my larger scented geraniums... and the ones I just bought from DeBaggios are barely big enough to spare a tip cutting or two, so we might have better luck propagating from them a little later on.
Becky,
Did you get my box o' plants? The tracking says it was delivered but I know from experience it doesn't necessarily mean the right person received it, LOL!
Oh my! Dragonfly! I just realized nobody had responded on this thread... I hope you know that your box made it to the party just fine... we only wish it had arrived with you carrying it!! Thank you so much. I hope you'll be able to make it up another time... I'm hoping to host a fall swap, and I know Frederick is even further away... but maybe you can make a weekend trip of it!
Critter,
thanks for the response but not to worry I dmailed Becky and she let me know they had arrived.
I might be able to do a fall swap, the problem this time was that it was our anniversary weekend and the "kids" had all descended on us, so DH wouldn't leave his precious tractor alone with them in order to accompany me, LOL!
Bec: You know that pretty Pink Knock Out rose you have? Park has it on a buy-one-get-two-free sale -- works out to less than $5 a plant. http://www.parkseed.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?storeId=10101&catalogId=10101&langId=-1&mainPage=prod2working&ItemId=34441&PrevMainPage=textsearchresults&scChannel=Text%20Search&SearchText=knock%20out&OfferCode=V1H
By the way -- most of my order from Parks has arrived and the plants were much bigger and healthier than I expected -- really huge. An incredible bargain.
Good to know Devon....as I've heard many complaints recently
None by me. They needed a good drink of water; that would have been my only concern. But I was really stunned by how nice they looked. They are almost too big for where I want to put them. I need them to go into a rocky area, and I thought that small plants would be able to take some time to get adjusted and for their roots to have a chance to drill down deep to find some good dirt. These ones are so big that they may not be able to do that. Complaints, complaints.
