I've got a couple of little Rose of Sharon seedlings (1 year old) that should be pink (according to the label on the swap seeds)... be glad to put Joyce's name on one! Did that variegated Vinca major come from her?
Haves - Wants Pt II - May Swap
She doesn't have any shade does she? Begonia grandis is pink.
Here's my list of who has asked for--and is getting--the following:
Let me know if I have forgotten anything....
1. Happy--Lots of naked ladies and some camellia cuttings
2. wrightie--Naked Lady
3. Hart--Ajuga, Baby Pregnant Onions, Tiger Lily babies, Shasta daisy
4. Wyldeflower--Tiger Lily Babies
5. Larienda--2 daturas (one dbl. yellow and one dbl. purple/white Metel).
Tiger Lily babies, Creeping Sedum, Pregnant Onion Babies, Shastas, My
big clump of day Lilies. Not sure on the Nictiana Alata--I just thinned out the
tiny seedlings. They are very small. I will bring you a few--then you can
nurse them on further.....
6. Ruby--Shasta Daisies, One each datura (thanks, Chantelle--that was sweet!), and any
Tomato seedlings I have dug up. Mostly Red Cherries.
7. Doccat-- Tiger Lily seedlings.
8. Critter--Naked ladies (aka Resurrection Lily).
That's all I have on my "give" list.......Did I miss anyone? Anything?
Chantelle, thanks again. I can bring you plenty of Datura seeds from both colors. Maybe if you start them right away, they will still grow big and bloom for you. I think there is still plenty of time. They DO take about 4 weeks to germinate......Do you want some seeds??? Let me know.
Gita

****PLEASE TELL ME IF I FORGOT ANYONE/THING****
If anyone has some extra lilac cuttings I'd appreciate it :-) I can do my own rooting :-)
Jill - since I have recently done some considerable adding to my passi collection I will have cuttings for you in the future sometime - I have to find out the correct method to root them - but, there will be some excellent ones if I can get them to thrive!

I'll put your name on one of the little 'Belle de Nancy' lilac shoots (already rooted). I can take some cuttings of Great-Aunt Erna's Lilac also -- it's a lovely deep purple, extremely fragrant. is this a good time for cuttings? How long should they be?
BTW if there are any of you that have NOT tried the Watersorb Polymer Crystals - let me know and I'll bring you a small baggie of them.
I think about 12-16" - semi-hard wood is 'sposedly the way to do it - I know I did exactly that with some forsythia (and Rose of S) cuttings a few years ago and they really came through this year (same shrub I pruned at wrong time of year and it grew wild after I pruned :)) - I put them in water for a week or so - then in dirt they went and I ignored them :-)
I am going to spend some time this summer researching the best way of propagating stuff - like gardenias, vines and jasmines - there has to be information online :-) I know several of the plants I have received this year has come from cuttings propagated by nurseries, so I might contact some of them and ask :-)
IF I have succes rooting Great-Aunt Erna's lilac I WILL make her her own name plaque!!!
She has lots of shade and I'll bet she'd love some begonia grandis. She has lots of rose of sharon already, Critter. That's what I couldn't think of - vinca. LOL Yes, it came from her. Would you like some more? She has oodles of it in the beds around her yard.
Bec, there's an excellent book about propagation that has info on hundreds of individual plants as well as very detailed information on various propagation techniques. It's pretty easy to find at local bookstores if you don't want to order online. Or your library might have it.
http://www.amazon.com/American-Horticultural-Society-Propagation-Plant/dp/0789441160
Oh my - they have TWO perfect books listed - one on propagation and one on pruning & training!!! Wuhuuuuuuuuuuuu
Thank you sooooooo much for that information - I'll be ordering both of them for sure :-) Then I can become the go-to person for that info :-)
OMG the Holy Grail of rooting....
Bec, I can bring you rooted offshoots of the double white lilac. It's a wonderful one with a glorious scent. Nice for a smaller yard too since it doesn't get as huge as the old timey lilac.
While you're ordering propagation books, take a look at this one, which is better for seed germination but also has info on other methods for each plant. It also focuses on annuals and perennials but no shrubs or trees.
http://www.amazon.com/Gardeners-Guide-Growing-Flowers-Bloom/dp/1580175171/ref=pd_sim_b_title_31
I would love a white lilac :-) Thank you - just ordered the two books and also one on Clematis - guess it is about time I learned something instead of going on blind luck! Chantell and I have been busy this spring finding tender tropicals (read Jasmines and Gardenias) and I think the pruning/training book will come in very handy - it'll also show me how to possibly propagate passies and the tropicals so I can share more!
AND they were ALL free shipping :-)

Here're the varities of nasturtiums I have
Nasturtiums - Dwarf Cherry Rose (1) Alaska Mixed (1) Empress of India (2) Milkmaid (2)
OK, there's a sort of wild branch growing off the back of that lilac that I have to prune off anyway, so we may as well try to root it! I might try to get a few additional cuttings from the bigger tree here at my folks' before I leave on Thursday. After all, I brought a big bag of spearmint with me on the way up on the bus, LOL. Thank you for offering to keep Aunt Erna's name with "her" lilac... she was very proud of that bush! My grandma loved it too, both for its sweet scent and for its deep purple color, "not like those pale lilacs you always see." LOL
Yooooo Hooooo! Wriiiightiiieee! Where are you? You're still coming right? Haven't seen any trading going on here. Tell us what you want, what you really, really want.
LOL the spice girls--!
hart that pink lover- does she have rose campion? talk about your vivid pink. I can certainly throw some in.
I will be bringing Bec a 4' tall, 5 yr. old--in a 3 gal pot-purple French Lilac bush as a house gift. That is what she chose from my list (D-mail). So--she will have a blooming lilac maybe in a year or two.
Might take the stress off some of you trying to do small cuttings and rooting.
Gita
This is the bush this sucker was taken from long time ago.
I am hoping to replace the R of S with the lilacs :-) A little digging will do my hubby good!!
Also meant to mention that for those that like to winter sow or just use recycled items for regular sowing - I go through a lot of Wawa's diet Green Tea - nice sized 1/2 gal containers. If anyone could use a few I'll be happy to bring with. Just can't promise they all will have their screw on lids
Okay, the box has left the building and is on it's way to Becky's. I hope I found everyone's wish list. The only thing missing is your Brug Larlienda, I only had one set germinate that had grown together in the same pot so I didn't want to separate them to mail. Since it was the only thing Wrightie had asked me for I sent them for her.
Here's the list:
Wyldeflwr: Purple Shamrocks, Willow Oak
Chantell: Purple Datura, Trailing Rosemary
Hart: Sweet Woodruff, Rose Blush Mums, Willow Oak, White Datura
Critter: Purple Shamrocks, Trailing Rosemary, greek oregano
Ruby; Sweet Woodruff ( I saw you asked for White Bleeding Heart but I have none of those)
Larlienda: Willow Oak, Sweet Woodruff, Purple Shams, Purple Daturas
Wrightie: Brugmansia (no idea what color, the swap seed packet said Ochre??)
Jody: Irish Linen Mums, Purple Shamrocks
Hope they arrive in good condition, I gave each of them some water crystals and wrapped in newspaper then paper bagged them. The oaks are separate; I had to bend them gently to fit them in.
The Mums are pretty sturdy but the Dats are just seedlings (with true leaves), keep your fingers crossed.
The Purple Shamrocks, Oxalis, will probably be wilted when they get there if not dissolved into slime. The corms will still be good, though, just plant them about 1/4 to 1/2" under the soil and give them plenty of water. They get western sun in the afternoon for a few hours at my house but I keep them inside all year round. The leaves can be put in water and may take root as well.
The trailing rosemary has very tiny roots along the branches, hard to see, just loosen up the soul and put it in. It likes to be in the sun and dryish.
The Sweet Woodruff likes moist or damp soil and heavy shade.
Thank you to Becky for letting me send the package to you! Tracking number is : 01038555749447189488.
I also wanted to let you all know that it looks like the USPS is giving a discount if you pay online for shipping. My box was 5 lbs and shold have cost $6.45 but they charged me $6.03 and are still offering free delivery confirmation.
Have a good time everyone! Hope to see you next year, maybe!
Terri
Hello everyone! Thanks for the very warm welcome. I feel funny adding "wants" without any "haves". I just have never really done anything with propogation - some minor digging and dividing, but I have never experimented with seeds, cuttings, or rootings. I could try digging up a few things to bring for Saturday. I saw mention of 'Hawera' daffodils, which I have. I also have runners of a dwarf Korean lilac that I think is 'Palibin'. I could start off with those two things, and then branch out once I learn more about propogation for next go-round. In addition to what I've gotten from nurseries over the years, I live in the woods where there are plenty of ferns, may apples, and even skunk cabbage :)
For wants, I'd love siberian iris, sweet woodruff, lily of the valley, and/or solomons seal... terri
Terri - I am positive you can dig up some of my Siberian Iris :-)
Please can I have some skunk cabbage? For goodness sakes don't be shy about saying what you want. Check my list. I'm so glad you're going to be able to attend.
Terri, you didn't need to worry about mailing stuff. Goodness. I wish you could be here.
I wish I could be too but my plants will have to stand in for me! And, there was no sense me keeping the plants I had alreayd dug up for the swap, that would disappoint a lot of folks and also I try to always keep my promises, LOL!
I have just one thing to add to my "haves". Not much of it--but I pulled up a bunch of seedlings from my Northern Sea Oats again. I have 3 cell packs of them--4 cells each....
I put about 4 seedlings in each of the "cells". These could be cut in half if many people are interested.
A bunch of you already got these from me at Jills....
Gita
i'm happy to take any extra tomato plants too....i didn't get any started this year
shirley, i'd love to try some of the balsam, pink spiderwort, and climbing hydrangea :-)
Gita, I would like to request a couple of the nicotiana seedlings please.
Jody,if you still have any of the iris crestata, could I have one?
happy, do you still have lamium maculatum ?
wyldeflower--
You do know how tiny the Nicotianas are? Maybe 1/2"....I will bring a few od the best ones for you. I have them in a cell pack. Maybe they will perk up a bit now that the rain has stopped and the sun is out...
Gita
Tomato request- my mom just found a spot for a nice slicing tomato not some monster beefsteak but a smaller one like Celebrity- ?-would be awesome. Red please, none of this 'newfangled' yellow or purple things LOL
Nicotiana- last year I had divided them early and they took off- I think they'll grow fast with more sun and 'leg' room and less rain
Here's my updated list, with some new additions at the top. I marked down what I have been asked for so far; I wish you would ask for more . . . .
New additions:
I also have just a few of the following:

Hosta “Gold Standard” (see photo on earlier thread) (including for Larlienda, Jill)
Hosta “Golden Tiara” (see photo on earlier thread) (including for Larlienda, Jill)

Liriope (nothing fancy)

Spiraea “Anthony Waterer”
Stylophorum diphyllum (Wood poppy) (see photo on earlier thread) (including for Hart, Miata, SallyG, Larlienda, Ruby, 2 sets for Critter)
Tiarella cordifolia 'Eco Running Tapestry' (see photo on earlier thread) (including for Critter, Wyldflwr and Larlienda)

Reminder to self -- office for Miata; Pennyfeather's en route; need gloves & $ for Jill; blue hellebores for wyldflwr, German Riesling/Spatlese, mini-co-op list, table, camera, pad & pen, labels, table
Please let me know if you would like any of these. I'm not sure I'll bring more than I am asked for, because of logistics, but I am happy to bring as much as I know people want (to the extent supplies hold out -- and so far I have enough of everything).

Happy, I desperately want some of your adenophora. You know, I might not have anything to plant if I don't get some. LOL
Critter, I just ran across your list while double checking and I think it was you who had a question mark next to me for the geranium cuttings. I would like some.
Thanks for catching that -- I knew you did -- I don't know why I didn't mark it down.
Happy---
Now I can see why you want almost everything anyone else has.......So you can have this huge "haves" list to offer back......:o)..How wonderful!...
I get dizzy just reading it! Gita
Happy, can I have some:
Coleus Glory of Luxembourg
Coleus Kingwood Carnival
Of course, Miata, I was hoping you'd find something. I feel like the US government with a giant trade imbalance.
happy if you have enough already to go I'd love some ajuga, begonia and coleus :)
Jody: Absolutely, delighted.
Gita: So, what'll it be for you? I'm putting you down for a Special Angel begonia whether you like it or not, because you gave me that lovely begonia last year. The spots on this baby are astonishing.

I think whoever is most piggish in their swap requests should have to stay after the swap to do the dishes. That would be me, so I hereby volunteer!
