Haves - Wants Pt II - May Swap
I've always grown the bellflowers in shade and I know they do well there, even if it's dry shade. I'll save a euphorbia for Becky. I potted up a bunch of the bellflowers and I can pot up more if needed.
Everybody who lost their bellflowers last year, don't give up on them. Sometimes they die back briefly before putting out new leaves. They also pout a lot after being dug. The phlox will pout too but I'm hoping everything, being in pots, will recover quickly.
I potted up about five pots of the hardy ageratum, each with several little plants. I also potted up several pots of the regular and Big Ears lambs ears.
Going to go dig Critter's pussytoes now.

Sadly Diane - I was so enthralled with them I wanted them right beside my front stairs in my SOUTH facing yard....ugh!!! My bad...I have just the place out back...they'll get some lovin' partial sun but that's it!!!
Hey! While I was typing up a really important--summary like-thread ---Chntelle moved it!
Please go back and read mine in the previous one! I was trying to streamline who wants what from me......We only had 4 days to go........:o(
Do we really have anyone here on Dial-Up?
Gita
Gita: repeat after me - "I CAN cut and paste" ROTFLOL
I think the problem was really more the board than that thread. DG is always slow on Mondays.
We probably do have people on dialup, you city slicker. LOL Except in my county, where the local phone company offers it here only, it's really difficult to get high speed out this way. There are rural areas where it's not easy to come by.
Chantell, it's no big deal. I always have plenty of the bellflowers.

miata, may i also have some black eyed susan vine & bear's foot hellebore....thanks :-)
i'll double check what non-pink daylilies i have....i do have stella d'oro (sp) for sure, others tbd
I also have a little of:
Adenophora Amethyst (I think it is amethyst -- it might be bulleyana -- I got both at bluestone last year and got the tags mixed)
Lysimachia Punctata 'Alexander'
Lysimachia clethroides Gooseneck Loosestrife
They all run, so be prepared.
I'll look again tomorrow.
Miata: If you really have extras and no one else wants it, I'd love:
sorrel (I adore it)

Bears Foot Hellebore (Stinking Hellebore) baby
If there really is no other home for them, the fenugreek, and jalapeno and thai peppers
I've been trying to root the Mona, but so far no roots. I haven't given it long, though. I'll bring it, rooted or not. But if there is something I should be doing to move it along, just shout.
Larlienda, I put your requests on my list. Happy this is the first time someone elses list for me is longer than yours. Whoops, just read your post just before I posted this. Forget what I just said ^_^
I've got a surprise for you Happy. Something I wanted to get for you last year but it wasn't big enough yet. I'll add it when I update my list with what you just asked for. If you want it that is. Is the suspense getting to you?
Jill, notice I took the garlic chives off the list. I picked them up tonight after work. Thanks so much!
miata- I'll take sorrel and coleus- if you tell me what to do with sorrel- gotta remember those books !!
miata paid money for garlicchives !! we gotta smack her, critter
This message was edited May 19, 2008 9:17 PM
Sally, I picked them up from Critter. But you may dope slap me because I did buy 2 puny plants at the nursery because Rick just had to have Chinese Dumplings before I could see her.
Happy, I had the most luck just dusting with root harmone and sticking them in some soil. I had sooo many last year. I had several going into fall. One was really large too. I just don't know how I managed not to keep any going.
Did you see what I added to the list for you?
Miata, I have tons of the mondo. You can have all you want. Would it be possible to also get some of your toad lily and spiderwort?
Happy, can I please have some adenophora? I don't care what kind.
Toad Lily and spiderwort for Hart. No problem.
I think we should follow Miata's example and copy/paste/edit our lists over to the new thread! :-)
Gita, yes, I would love some naked ladies, please! I think mine are the "other" kind.

Chantell,
I don't have any double white Daturas! I have yellow and purple/whites. Only 2 of each.
Larienda has dibs on one of each--so...............Let me know if you want the other two...or one of them. Which one?
Sally/Happy---If I may reminisce here.......
As children, we used to go to the meadows in Germany and pick Sorrel. Sometimes we would just eat it right there, sometimes we were sent to pick it to bring to Mom to make Sorrel Soup.
Sorrel is quite sour to the taste. It can be used as an ingredient in fresh salads or cooked into soup--much like you would fresh Spinach.
I remember eating Sorrel soup with boiled egg diced in it. Not sure what else was in it.
My sister in AK grows Sorrel in her garden and uses it for all of the above. If any of you would like--I can ask her how she makes Sorrel Soup and post it here.....
Gita
OK! Here is my edited/updated list of haves/wants.
HAVES:
"Naked lady" Lily. about 12--one gallon pots--about 4 bulbs in each. Larienda--don't worry about dividing your clump...I have plenty. As I said in one of the posts--by the time of the Plant Swap--all the leaves will be gone. You will just get a 1gal. pot of dirt...BUT--trust me--there will be about 4 bulbs in there!
Happy--you already asked ME! You can have 2 pots--or more, if you want. More, if there are no more takers...Wrightie--You also asked. Got YOU covered!
Ajuga-about 6-7- 4" pots. Could "scrounge" more...(already did!) Now I have more for hart.
****note on 5/18***--many of these have died out. Hart--you can have all that are left. Can't "scrounge" any more. The people have moved in...
--A few dbl. purple and white, and dbl. yellow Daturas. Grew from seed. I think I have more than I need. Have been sharing with folks at work...
--Oodles of baby Tiger Lilies--one year old sprouts. They are not doing much at this point. I think the cool weather is to blame.
Seedlings coming up--a lot of:
--Sally's Nicotiana Alata (tall, white, pendulous blooms)--5/18--still minute! Will try to pot up some...
--Some of Brent's perennial Salvia--a few sprouting--also micros...(5/1)-coming along nicely! --5/18--still very, very small. Not sure I can transplant!
Hoping for some "volunteers" in my beds from last Summer of:
I see some coming up that I planted in pots. They are ALL mine! Sorry!
-A HUGE, bushel basket sized clump of some kind of Daylilies...My neighbor dug them up and
does not want the clump. It is a SOLID mass of roots/bulbs. Cannot be divided for the Swap.
Whomever wants it will get the whole thing! Will need a chain saw to cut it apart! I do not know
the color--but I don't think they are "Ditch Lilies"...I have a few starts from it. Nothing has
bloomed yet...Dying to see what color they are!
-I have some of the mini-sedum with the tiny yellow flowers that becomes an invasive Ground
cover... Every little "leaf" of it will make a new plant...They must "fly" through the air--as I have now had some of them in my beds...
- A bunch of baby "Pregnant Onions" rooting...
- I could dig up a few of my Shasta Daisies. Every year--I need to contain them in the areas
they are in. They spread---and I dig! These are indestructible!
WANTS:
From hart----some clustered Bellflowers
----Some tall Phlox "Robert Poore".
From the placed orders----
Blue Helebore
Happy's order--4 Astilbes
Wrightie--Italian (flat-leaf) Parsley
Thanks--Gita
From the old thread. Please let me know if I didn't get something someone wanted listed.

Old timey bearded iris - I have no idea what variety. Very old - the house is nearly 150 years old. Light purple blooms. My grandmother, who would be over 100 if she was still alive, grew some like this. A bit darker than this and fuller. WYLDEFLWR, CRITTER, HAPPY
[HYPERLINK@www.worldiris.com]
Pink evening primrose "Siskiyou" - Oenothera speciosa - great for a dry slope or other spots where you want to choke out weeds. Height info in plant files is incorrect - it's closer to 10-12 inches tall. HAPPY,

[HYPERLINK@www.northcreeknurseries.com]
Chocolate mint - spreads like crazy, plant in a pot or coffee can with bottom cut out. A smaller, shorter mint with pretty purple on the leaves and stems. Does smell like chocolate mint. Not very good photos here. SALLY

Wild black cherry seedlings - Prunus serotina - a couple
I love these trees. The cherries aren't really edible, they're tiny, but the birds love them. Nice fast tree, tough as nails.
[HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]
Box elder seedlings - Acer negundo
Very fast growing tree, also very tough and drought tolerant but they tend to lose their leaves in the driest part of summer in my dry yard. I've noticed they don't where they get a little less parched conditions.

Gita, I posted this in the old thread, but could I get some of your tiger lily babies, pregnant onions and shasta daisies if you're bringing any this year?
Critter, I went out this evening and couldn't find any rooted Dorothy Perkins roses. It was getting dark so I'll look again tomorrow but it could be the honeysuckle/woods are encroaching where it grows along the ground. If I can't find a rooted plant, I'll bring you a nice big stem. It roots very easily anywhere the stem touches the ground so I know it will root for you. I hope this makes sense. It grows up the trees in the wooded area in front of the house but there are always smaller ones growing along the ground where they have rooted from the longer stems. I think the honeysuckle is covering where the smaller plants grow. I definitely have plenty but it may not be a rooted plant.

I can bring some Achillea Paprika if needed for requests from hart. I have never found a place I love it in my yard.
hart--
I have plenty of all your requests. Not to worry!
So far I have you down for:
Tiger Lily babies
Pregnant Onion Babies
Shasta Daisies
Ajuga--whatever I have--ALL yours!
Anything else?????
Did you see I posted I had about 6 rooted red Epis? Want any?
Gita
Sally, it's probably better to wait until late July to dig/divide my irises for you... but I'll definitely have some. 'Happenstance' just bloomed for the first time, and it's distinctly peach-pink. I've also got this lost-tag variety (probably an IB) with peach standards, and the clump looks big enough to divide. I'm sure there will be others... I know I've got a really peachy daylily or two out there too, but I'm not quite sure which ones... I'll be sure to mark them when they bloom this year. I'm glad you have more than one Carolina Allspice, LOL... I won't have to bring my mud wrestling outfit. ;-)
I have to check my winter sowing containers... my Agastache Honey Bee White & Blue don't look like they're coming back well this year, and if I don't have seedlings then I'd sure love to get some. Sally, you're going to have to let me know what you'd like from me other than the irises! :-) Can I bring you something special from my perennial pots? Maybe a peachleafed bellflower or a chocolate daisy?
critter- happy to take a rain check on some iris. I can cover you with Agastache!!! have tons. I'll re-peruse your Haves...
Lamium Orchid frost ! -sounds like would be awesome with my purple Salvia lyrata, under the redbud
and a variegated creeping thyme would be nice
This message was edited May 19, 2008 11:44 PM
Ok....too much copying and pasting...I lost what I'd written......grrrr!
Sally - my pig's ears a good size so I good for anyone that would like cuttings - thank you so much though! Could I beg some more of the Agastache off of you please? Even a teeny amt will be appreciated. Please tell me if I can bring YOU something (Trigona red cutting?)...ahhh just saw where you mentioned succulents - want any more OUTdoor i.e. cholla - yucca? I'll bring you some spares of the indoor stuff - you let me know about the outdoor ones.
Diane - I would be honored if you'd let me try those bellflowers again & I'd love some lemon balm...can't remember if that was you or Jill that I'd asked that of...the brain goes MIA ya know? And just bring the bitty lambs ears for me....I wouldn't have room for the big un's too where i want to put them. ^_^ (thank you though)
Gita - my bad....I misread what you'd written. I'll take 1 or both of the remaining Daturas (esp. if the blooms have a good scent) if no one else is interested. Let other's have first dibs though - I don't want to be a piggie.
Miata - if you want cuttings from my honeysuckle http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2013/ and/or http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/56089/ (this one's not as big as the other so could only do a couple of cuttings) let me know, please.
Jill - b/c of our colder temps (I'm guessing) the passi's are just now poking up thru the soil...I promised I will get you cuttings though once they've put on some growth....will that be ok?
Note: I could also bring a couple of sm clumps of - moss rose or ice plant....one is hardy the other reseeds and and this point in the year I honestly might not be able to tell them apart...LOL
sally, i'd love some amaranth and if you have extra spice bushes i'd love one of those......also blue creeping phlox, hawera daffs & any other extra bulbs you want to share as i plan to put some going up into our "spooky woods" and coreopsis (i'm determined to have some live!)
thanks :-)
Miata: Disporopsis pernyi -- whoeee! Thank you!
Your so welcome! You'll love it!
Chantell, I'll take some cuttings from the first honeysuckle. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2013/ When I figure out where to put that one and your second grows up a little more, then I may like a cutting from the other one at some other time :)
Chantell,
You are down for the other 2 Daturas. They are good size already--in 4" pots for a long time....
Gita
Yipeee what fun!!!
Sally, I'll fix you up with some Lamium. I'll have to check on the cultivar... it has purple blooms and a white streak in the center of the leaf. I don't think any of my creeping thymes are variegated... I do have a white-edged silver thyme (lemon, I think), and I'll see if there are any stems that have layered.
Chantell, I can pass on the passifloras until another year... frankly, my eyes were bigger than my garden (it happens!), and I'll be scrambling as it is to find places for various climbers that I've got started this year. Thank you!
I'm sending some Willow Oak seedlings, Mums and whatever else I can squeeze into the box! WIll miss meeting all of you but have fun!
Terri
Thanks, Gita. Is everybody getting excited about Saturday? I am.
Chantell, I didn't see anything about lemon balm when I went through the list. Maybe Jill is bringing it? Just let me know because it's easy enough to dig you some. When it stops raining. LOL
We'll miss you Terri! Let us know what we can squeeze in the box that will be going back to you.
Sally: I have Lamium Purple Dragon -- would you like some? Plus an old running cultivar (don't know the name) that I like very much -- it spreads but doesn't reseed.
