I can't remember what this is called but I love the color.

note: don't you love the laundry basket? It's holding up a pice of fencing so the dog doesn't get in the garden!!

Sharon---

I am just busy--busy getting all the details and plants organized for this Saturday's Plant Swap at Becky's in VA. Lots of changes of plans and times. Lots of back and forth as to who wants what.
Separated all my plants in boxes today for everyone that asked for whatever....
Tomorrow I will load up the car and then, sat. AM around 9AM, I am off to meet up with Sally and Shirley.

I am also working 4 partial days a week right now--so I don't have a lot of time to post on every site. Mostly concentrating on the Mid Atlantic and the Swap right now.

I DO read all your Posts.....staying with yo here.....

Ready for work, waiting for Suzanne to call for me to pick her up and off we go, short day today..have lots of places to go so won't get home much sooner than my normal time, in fact, Zellers has a rocker seater I want to look at for front deck, 2 nursery stops, Home Depot for paints, Carol's to pick-up packet for my Muskoka Chair class, Canadian Tire to see if they still have white Muskoka Chairs and by then I'm most likely ready for bed...lol

As I try to decide what color I want to stain the frames for the Antique Golf insert I painted awhile back (getting ready for Christmas) Sailor and Missy wait patiently for their treats..Riley, well she just spent a night hunting so she's laying comfy on my bed!

Will re-read all your posts and gab when I get to the office this morning...

Is Sailor sticking her tongue out at us? LOL

Today will be much like yesterday. Planting and figuring. Same type of weather.

Best:: The weather

Worse::the mosquitoes and how early they were out.

Learned:: relearned how big and pesky those mosquitoes are. Not looking forward to them!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Morning LIz! The weather is fine. I have the next truck day off. The boss is mad at the 2 other girls. They get together and talk talk talk and don't work good. Made a comment how I am favored by the boss as we are friends. That is why I am unloading truck most of the time since we opened. So on the schedule she gave me truck day off! Whoohoo! Well if you keep the place looking good you don't have to get frantic cleaning up. Did that come out right? I know how stressful it gets before those bigwigs show up. So work it off girl!

Have a good day at work.

Pacifica, CA

hey vicki, good for you not to have to unload!! whoo hoo.

were good to go but we know were going to have a point or two knocked off for our cash return log hope they dont pick certain days maby we can get away with a perfect score now i know today will be a kick back day for sure lol

Crozet, VA

Cat, you sound like me about having visitors. I have hardly any room for anyone and the culprit is mainly plants. I did get to begin sitting them outside for the summer yesterday though. I only have a few more to go but they are mainly large ones and John put all the other plants on the screened porch tables where they all did beautifully last year. I don't want them going on the front deck because they will get too much sun there. So, I will need to re-arrange before taking any more outside. The life of a gardener.....aaahhhhhh.

I have not been able to keep up with the posts on here this week. I did scan the beautiful plant pictures. John and I are gearing up for another weekend away. Well, just away on Saturday and home that evening, but quite a little ride to where we are going to a plant swap. I get to see Gita again this weekend. Yippie. She was overly nice and concerned about me last Saturday. She kept asking me if I was okay. I did pretty well and only had to drop out a couple of hours before the rest of the group. I will be going back at some point in order to see the things that we missed.

Tomorrow's plant swap should be fun. Most of the same group met together last June and swapped plants also. I enjoyed meeting everyone from Dave's Garden then and am looking forward to meeting more new people tomorrow. I can't wait to see the plants that I will be bringing home. More yippies!!!

Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well. I am fine, just overly busy. Take care and have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Ruby

(Cathy), MO

Have fun Ruby. It is great actually getting to meet DG'ers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can tell it's a long weekend for you all and I can feel the excitement in your posts..so many things planned, great weather (for some) but all and all days off to do just as you please is wonderful! Now Jaye, how come you didn't telephone my boss to tell him because I'm not an Honorary USA citizen that I can't have the long weekend? You messed up girl...

We got to the city early so stopped in at Canadian Tire and picked up the Muskoka Chair (to you it's an Adirondak (?) chair)! One less thing to do this aft. and if I can accomplish what's on my to-do list I might even get some homework done on it..

My 2 nieces aren't in, guess they've the morning off..can't complain, I was off last Friday..so Suzanne is working away, Wayne is playing games on the computer, me I'm have breakfast and have my breadboards here to paint on..already 10 so 1pm will come quickly..

I saw the most beautiful flowering shrub at Canadian Tire but we were rushing, when I get to Barrie this aft. might just go look at their store to see if they've the same... have to have one, forgot the name, but it's awfully pretty, almost orange/pink flowers..

Judy, you have a wonderful weekend up at the cottage, how did it go last night, did she get her award???was last night was it not?? Wow, love that plaque..will you be bringing to the cottage or keeping it at home.. somebody is very artistic..now who did we say was your SP (?)

Cathy, always nice when you get company, must tidy up all the corners..with my (if I get more energy) B&B it makes me HAVE to tidy all over each and every day - just incase...lol...not that I make much of a mess except for my craft room - disaster area #1...

Liz and Jaye...exciting day .. get to mail my Red/White/Swap piece..smile/smile...lordy I've been ready for a month..you both have your names as well..bet they are getting some pretties, is it me? is it me?
I know, you won't tell...hmmmm wonder what I'll get? Feel like sharing any secrets...hmmmm

Liz, want to see that lighthouse completed..bet there isn't much to do..this weekend is the weekend I'm sure..no abuse to DH Liz, he's getting to be quite the crafter..treat him well...

Vicki, yep, posing for you all..lol..you can sure see she's aging by the white around her face...did you ever try using the better dryer sheets i.e. Bounce etc. they say to include 1 or 2 on your person and because of the perfumes in them, it keep moskito's away...worth a try..

Shar, your roses are absolutely gorgeous, now do you have one particular area that is for roses only or are they scattered amongst the other shrubs/flowers....

Gita..sounds as though you've energy for 2 just to get through all you are doing..

For some reason I'm very excited about this weekend..don't know why, maybe a premonition of something..can feel the exitement within me and yet I've nothing special planned, just a few to do's..

let's see...

Cut all the grass and weed

Try to find those floaters for the pond to hold flowers...

decorate front porch..matt, either swing or cafe set, set up the water feature I got for Mothers Day..make an arrangement in the flower box I painted

Paint - B&B sign/ front door trim/ basement entrance door

Try to finish putting the muskoka chair back together so I can wood fill areas where the screws are...

MUST get the 'trash to treasure' item done and shipped..

by golly if I get all that done I'll be thrilled...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Guess I was writting a novel Ruby, missed your post...

Another swap..wow how exciting..always nice to bring some new babies home..you are so lucky that DH is interested as well.. when Roger was alive I'd have to watch each and every tree/shrub I'd plant, he'd either run them over or cut the shrubs down..didn't like flowers...and you know, I pass his gravesite every day, I've put 2 shrubs, hanging basket and a wreath on the tombstone and I can hear him say, get them off/get them off...lol...oh well, I win this time...

Do enjoy your weekend and don't overdo Ruby..

It's not even noon and I am exhausted just reading what everyone is doing. Enjoying all the pictures being posted. Finally I have managed to grow hosta after many, many years of trying. Red letter day when I found my Blue Mouse Ears popping up!!! They are so adorable. Have finally worked out a landacape design for the front yard. Driving neighbors crazy wondering why all the international orange paint is sprayed on the ground, not to mention my hoses being orange now. Have never been able to use the hose to outline my beds without spraying them too--won't even mention the color of my yard shoes!!

It started raining here late yesterday, continued through the night and more today. The weather says more tonight and tomorrow. Guess it will be an inside long weekend for me. Maybe I can get my sewing machine set up and my sergers a good cleaning and workout. Who knows.

Everyone have a good enjoyable long weekend.

(Zone 7a)

Everyone is so busy!!! So many projects and going places. I'm tired now, too!

Good morning, everyone.

I need to ask a favor of all of you. I am coming into a little bit of money soon and DH's and my anniversary is coming up. We've known each other since 1992, first date was 1994, were inseparable between then and 2000 when we were married. I want to get him something REALLY special. I've run some ideas through my head but...

He likes golf, TV, movies, airplanes, relaxing outside, millitary history, history in general, archaeology, astronomy, many other things I can't think of right now.

Ideas? I have a budget of about $500.

High powered telescope? Antique? with its own stand?

You already have a good camera, or I would say that.

Gotta think some more.

Good Morning everybody!

(Zone 7a)

THe camera would be a good idea as this one was dropped and needs repairing! LOL I'm the photographer, not him. We have a telescope, a 4.5" refractor he loves and a few lenses.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Subscription to archaelogical magazine. Son is an archaeologist--husband was geologist. Both loved the magazine. Money left to buy other things too.

(Zone 7a)

Oh, good one, Abbisgranma!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Add an astronomy subscription to AG's suggestion.

(Zone 7a)

He has that one already. We're taking a trip to Oregon next month. And I should add, he'll be getting a new truck out of this, too!!! LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Wow! Lucky guy or maybe you are the lucky one.
AKA Marion

(Zone 7a)

I am definitely the lucky one!!! Spoils me rotten! LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I can relate to that! I have missed it these past few years. ENJOY!

(Zone 7a)

Every minute! Life's too short not to enjoy the moments. ☺

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

You are so, so correct about that. Good luck with your shopping for special birthday gifts!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I am jumping up and down with joy. I can't hardly stand myself I am so excited. My SP I love you, love you, love you!!!!!! Guys I got a gift certificate from NEW HAMPSHIRE HOSTAS!!!!! I ordered On Stage, Stained Glass, and Sun Power. I am dumbfounded. Thank you so much. I had made up my mind that I would not order any more hostas and those three are what i wanted. Who ever this is knows what a hostaholic I am. Hi all I will post later when I settle down. LOVE & HUGS BEV

Thumbnail by dragonfly62
(Cathy), MO

Sounds like you hit the jackpot Bev. I still have hostas to get planted from the last hosta coop! I've about run out of shady spots! LOL
It is muggy today. Feels like it could storm again. I'm trying to get more plants moved ouside so they can benefit from any rain we get.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

abbisgranma,

Have you ever heard those commercials about "Naming a Star" after someone?
The star and the name is registered and, I believe, they send you a "map" of where your star is.

Might be a wonderful gift for someone so hooked on Astronomy......

Gita

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Gita, yes I have but I think Kwanjin is looking for the birthday suggestions. I do think that is a good idea also. Hopefully she will see this post.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone.
Let me just hide in here and listen to all your chatter. It's like being back home with my rather large family, 6 girls and 2 boys relating their going ons and little brother would provide lots of comic relief.
Main thing is we know we're in a safe haven, all that's spoken is safe with us. None judged any worser for mistakes made and offers of help made without asking. The hugs...I miss that the most.
Betty did you know that you've started a sisterhood?
Shar, I am glad you like the basket. When I read up on your artistic genius, for the first time, my gift shopping ability's threatened! But I have so much fun challenging myself, looking for that perfect something for you!
I got a packet from another SP...^_^ She's truly an angel.
My first 'happy' bear wearing a USA cardigan. Never had a stuffed animal in my whole life, until I was given this large teddy bear at the hospital, to help me apply pressure to my chest, when I coughed. Thank you so much, this bear from you comes with happy thoughts.....love you!!
Couldn't do much in the garden, blood sugar played havoc and overdid myself when I moved some stepping stones. But, having a good time with the R,W & B swap. Y'all ladies are welcome to drop in anytime! Betty, shame on you! Only thing I can tell you is that your pal will come from USA!! :P
I better sign off before it goes poof! Next time, I'd use Word and copy and paste on to this!
Long live the "Ga-Ga Sisterhood"! Keep gabbing everyone.
Love y'all! Blessings Galore!
Jaye
