Central Texas Near I-45 Trade List June 8th RU 2nd Thread
Edited trade list to reflect all requests.
Kim, it might've been me that gave you Cerise Queen at the fall RU in Arlington? I'll bring you another in case that was a reversion. CQ is a very deep pink. Pomegranate is more scarlet.
Most of the coleus I have right now actually prefer a little bit of sun. I've had trays in full shade and some that get morning sun, and the sun ones are bigger. But I do have a couple that prefer full shade. Do you remember which ones I gave you in CS? I can tell you which are which. Also, if I know what I brought before, I'll try to bring something different this time.
If you have any extra of the coleus that likes sun, see if I have a trade for some of it for you.
Charlene
Or was it me that brought you the Cerise Queen? I just went back and looked and I did give you one. Dang it, the tag was wrong!! Sorry about that Kim. I have had mine for over a year and it still hasn't bloomed, just expanded. Enough so that I took one division to the swap last fall.
That makes me mad because I have been so patient, waiting all year for it to bloom last year with nothing and waiting all this spring. It finally has tiny buds on it, but there is no color to them so far. If it blooms white it's being pulled out as I bought it for the tagged name/color not the blah white original (no offense to anyone who likes it. Oh well, now I will have more room for something else.
Charlene, most of my sun coleus came recommended for full sun, but I wouldn't do that here. In Texas they seem to need some protection from the hot afternoon.
With all the questions about the coleus, I posted some photos on my gallery. http://www.pmblonestarlady.com/gallery/album38?page=1 There's a brief description about them. With a couple of exceptions, I have (or can start) plenty of most of them. Remember, though, that almost all came from tip cuttings, and then we had that cool weather in April. So they're not very big yet.
Here's a photo with a couple of coleus, and Barb, that little gold moss sedum is starting to spread in here. You can see it on the bottom right. This spread from just one accidental sprig last summer. It does better in the sun, though.
Sweezel, do you want me to bring you a division of Cerise Queen too? These are not going to be big, because I divided the heck out of it last fall. But I'm sure I can find a small start for both you & Kim.
Cocoa, PF says it's only hardy up to zone 8. I would not bet on that, though. I mean, you're not that far away.

I noticed that on the PF page Mitch said he wished it would self-seed more. I've only had mine part of the year, but they seeded quite a bit in that short time. I'll be glad to bring you some seedlings if you'd like to try them.
No that's okay, thanks. Just give Kim double so she'll have a nice size one.
PB can I have some pavonia?
pbtx....not sure but I know I planted a greenish one and a purple one. That probably isn't much help...lol.
I don't remember who I got the yarrow from, but it doesn't matter to me. I like them all!
beck....got you down for the brug and salvia cuttings.
cocoa....any chance I could get some artemisia and russian sage?
Thanks! Kim
Kim, I like all the yarrows too. :)
It sounds like I brought you Sungold and Hot Lava. Those are the ones that are the most vigorous and probably what I had best cuttings of back in April. I'll see what else I can find for you.
Madrid, yes, I'll bring you some pavonia seedlings.
Pbtx, I'm going to pass for now on the pavonia.I rember those now! I had one last Fall that didn't overwinter. Forgot that I got another this Spring. If it lives, I'll hit you up for another one of them next year ;0) Your photo of them was too cute!!! Thanks
Kim, I'll put you down for artemisia and russian sage.
i have root beer plants if anyone needs any more of those.
I forget who listed the pride of barbadoes.. I think it was called... but if anyone has any more, I sure would like a little start of it...please
pbtx: thanks for the pavonia
mama: I would love some root beer plants. Anything that smells good finds a spot in my yard.
beck: It was dawninTx that had the pride of barbadoes, but I think she may be out.
ok.. ty madrid.... BTW.. did you want some kind of blue morning glory seeds on your want list? I have a pack of "rare" mg seeds that I got from another dger. The best I can figure out, there could be 7 different vines from the seeds, but she shows pics of the flowers and they are all very pretty, and some unusual. Anyway 1 is blue, and I thought I would bring them to you if you want them... I am not much on vines
I teach first grade and let my students make a seed collection every year. If you have any seeds that are probably too old to germinate, but you hate to throw away, I would be happy to use them for educational purposes (students gluing on paper with a name and crayon picture next to every seed).
I also have a collection of buttons, beads, keys, foreign coins, metal objects, rocks, sea shells, seeds bigger than a pea, and things that sink/float. If you have anything around the house you would like to add, I would appreciate it. (It would be nice if the objects were smaller than about 2 inches so they fit into a peanut jar.)
Thanks a bunch!!!
Tabitha
Edited to say: All the collections are for my students to sort. It helps them to be able to ID stuff better if they can sort stuff by different characteristics. If you have an idea for a new collection, surprise me.

Hello all, I need someone manage keeping things updated for a few days. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll d-mail you my password so you can edit my links.
Some of you may remember me telling a story of a little girl not wanting her dad to kill a praying mantis becuz he was praying for her Great gramps.
Her great gramps has been my moms sweetheart for the last 12 years. I am not positive, but I think he is 87 years old. He passed away this morning. My Mom needs me. His only daughter is like a sister to my sis and I. She needs me also.
I will be out of pocket until Wednesday evening. I need someone to start a final headcount thread, and to keep anything posted to the links that need it.
Heck, I'll just post my password here and change it when I return. It is "rememberthis". Just appoint one person to make any edit changes please.
Charlene
In order to make edits, you will need to log in as charlenesplants and use my password. I don't think it is unsafe to give that out since it is only for DG. I will change the password when I return.
Prayers for our family would be appreciated. My mom is turning 81 this Friday, so she is kind of fragile herself. Eddie Farris meant the world to mom, and it will be hard for her to be without him.
Thanks everyone!
charlene i am so sorry. let us know when you get back. i would do this but i don't understand one word about that password. who understands it?
well it's kinda hard to talk after this... so sorry Charlene for ya'lls loss of this dear man!! We don't know her, but I still feel her pain and disbelief.. please tell her we love her, and will be praying for her, and all of you!! Drive safely!!
Your family will be in my prayers.
Tabitha
Praying for you and your family, Charlene.

Sheila.. I just keep going back to this one????
Has anyone given any thought for the Door Prizes???? Just wondering what to do, since I have never attended a RU??
I believe Charlene had planned on having door prizes, I am answering this because Sheila may not have been following the thread at the time.
You bring something inexpensive for each person in you party, so if you are coming alone, just bring one.
Josephine.
TY Josephine!!
Thanks Josephine.
Beck, I am not the one in control but we usually have some sort of drawing. As for the links taking you back to this one, this is the 2nd trade page, but the link at the first post has the previous one I think.
I just wanted to say if anyone has any pipevine or milkweed seedlings could you please bring them for me? I have a bunch of monarch and pipevine cats hatching and I am worried I will run out of food when they get bigger!
Once again to my rescue... TY Sheila!!!!
