longwood trip
I was hoping someone took pics of the names since I forgot to do so. I was so overwhelmed by it all.
Thank you so very much Jen and Wind for posting these. It will be later this week before I will post any that I took. You took the words out of my mouth jen when you said it was all so overwhelming. It was awesome, and awesome is not really a word that I use very often. ha-ha
Gita tells me that we really missed some gorgeous things in the Orchid Room. We definitely plan to go back at some point and do the Conservatory first next time. We also missed touring some of The Du Pont house and I will definitely want to see all of it the next time.
A wonderful day all the way around. Thanks to all who came out for the day. I believe that every one had a good day.

I know!! We missed some things, too and I would love to see it each season. I was checking out Longwoods website again, I kept saying to myself-I didn't see that or that...oh man I def have to go back
Ruby,
You know--there were a lot of people driving around in those motorized handicap carts. Everywhere! I think, maybe, you can get them for the asking--FREE? Just like in a Grocery Store and the other big stores.
That way, you can enjoy everything and be comfortable.

The picture above is the back of me & Harry (Diana Wind's DH) admiring all the Orchids. They were incredible!
P.S. I was a walking advertisement for Dave's Garden!

What an incredible day! Perfect weather and wonderful gardening friends to share the day with walking through such spectacular gardens. A big thank you to Chris (Ladygardener) for organizing this wonderful trip!
A have a few gazillion pictures, but I'll try not to duplicate anything.
Here we are by the sundial in the Flower Garden Walk.
Candee (haighr) this picture of us in the tree house is for you! We missed you & Steve being with us and we hope you can join us on our next excursion. I know how much you wanted to see the tree houses. Here we are in the "Canopy Cathedral" which rises 20 feet into the tree. The house does not rely on the tree for structural support, but uses a "pin support", which anchors the structure to the ground.
I uploaded all my pictures last night. Just finished ID'ing them all.
Shirley--the pink blooms that you called Hardy Hibiscus are Tree Peonies. There were about 4 different colors there.
OK! I will post a few also--trying NOT to duplicate anything too much....Hard to do, as we all were there--
Jill--This is for you--some serious sized banana trees.
