Quite the success story Amy. I have some colored like that - don't think they are multiples though.

sjms, dang, why didn't I plant 'China Town'. Gorgeous.

Here is one of the changing ones. It starts out white and yellow and turns through several shades to a strong coral pinkish color. Here it is now. Single Late Tulip 'Antoinette' Patti

But then, on 5/11...

Almost would be pretty if they were SUPPOSED to be like that.
Yup. Bulbs eaten away.
It happened to some of my saxatilis, too, and assorted others in bud, but not after blooming.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Amy, what happened? Who is eating them?

Antoinette then changes to this combo (last year's picture)

The moles or voles or whatever is underground that got probably at least 2/3 of all my bulbs this year.
Out of the around 3 dozen Queen of Nights (my favourite flower in the world) i planted this year, i got 4 in front of the house, and 8 of the 10 extra small ones i stuck in a container because i'd run out of places to put them. (O, and 2 returners from last year - one of which got its head knocked off the day after it bloomed.) All those white Maureen tulips i went crazy trying to get last fall? i got not one single bloom. Out of 15 Renowns, they left me one. (3 made it to bud - but then 2 flopped.)
And most of them were planted caged in chicken wire.

sigh.

i'm done. i have moved on to the next plants.

sigh.

Anyway, i really liked the Candy Clubs, and definitely will buy more next year. If i ever plant bulbs again.

Poor little Pulmonaria's.. the young leaves aren't ready for the heat (88deg) yet and they're wilting (yes, they had plenty! of water), I'm such a sap that i just had to water them down to cool them off. tomorrow, fri, is going to be really rough on all of the plants with fresh new growth :-(

people seemed to like the pic of the falls so i figured I'd put in another one. This is "Fourth Fall's" and it four mi. up the road that I live on. Very slight falls, but still pretty. Maybe I'll just show the picture of it to the plants tomorrow to keep their spirits up. Just kidding.
