Good Morning!
I am so glad it's Sunday, LOL I actually slept in a bit, watched a favorite show and now, getting ready to go out and work on the yard.
Temps are still pretty chilly, But I think I will do some planting anyway.
After the shower yesterday, spent time picking up this and that...Worked in the rain, felt pretty good to work in the Spring rain, just prior to I got to use my new Toro leaf vacuume and blower. Pleased as punch with my 20 dollar purchase! And it's not too heavy either so just my size will be doing some blowing today and get the very back of my house cleaned out...Beats raking!
Oh my, I am really enjoying all the Lasagna layering talk! Hmmm, may have to give that awhirl.
Gosh Betty, Just look at all your ongoing projects! that stained glass piece is going to be fantasic, Looking forward to seeing it done.
The one with the rose, and the little house in the backround, looks very complicated to me.
LOL, Ves, Don't ya just love when you can "sneak" in some extra stuff...heheh, I pick and choose very careful like when to go shopping for just one thing with DH, and ohwah...come home with all kinds of goodies! Good for you, big smile.
Carol, You know, I just love seeing your gazeebo! Makes me want to run away, a place to just sit and appreciate nature.
How's the furniture painting coming along?
Hello, hello to all, oh golly I am so backed up on past couple of days, keep thinking of all I want to say...
Now time to write and poof...So will just start over, fresh new today.
Oh Bev, I surely hope you are taking breaks in between everything. Yow I know, all that weed pulling... LOL, doing the same thing. Yesterday, I looked like one of those signs, doing a behindwave at passer byers, hahahah...good excercise tho.
well time is flying so see ya all at a break.
Enjoy the day!
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #43 visit with friends...
Another "Lasagna" question, do I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn't
use colored newspapers?? Only black and white printed ones? Seems like it was something about the dye in the colored print. Or did I dream that?? :-)
Think I read the same thing Cathy...that will have to be our group project...shucks, kept saying I'd wait till noon or 1:00 until it warmed up, but it's pouring rain out there..
LOL to myself, it could rain 40 days/40 nights and I'd still have plenty of projects to keep me going...have no idea why I didn't finish that gardening matt..so little to do on it, few hours work..oh well, I'll leave it placed where it will bug the h..l out of me and I'll get at it...lol
So nice to have you all to gab with..tomorrow I'll be painting with Diane on yet another unfinished matt..lordy it will be nice to complete all these unfinished projects...
watch if it isn't sunshine and 70 tomorrow....she'll probably only paint for 3 or 4 hours as she says her stamina isn't quite as mine...
Morning my friends.
Yah Cathy, you're right. It's recommended not to use the colored prints. I use the cardboards cause they're thicker and moreover, I don't read the local news!
I don't see myself as pastel, Laura. Lol! My colours are mostly strong, bold and tropical nothing soft...but I think I might have a few pastels that were left overs from a child's lap quilt.
Can't bend too much to do any weed pulling, so my garden's going au naturale again.
Betty, I wish I have your energy. You're like the Energizer bunny....
Love y'all.
Blessings galore!
Jaye
Can't believe lol it's only 11:30 - still an entire day ahead of me..Jaye, my energizer bunny batteries usually run out about 6pm..
Sure wish I had remembered to garden floormat when I needed a 'secret garden swap'..oh well...
Been looking through my 'junk' or is it 'treasure' pile looking for what I'll do for 'trash to treasure' and can't believe all the 'junk' bet you all have a same kind of pile right..please say right...
Turned up the heat in hopes my project paint dries..learned that watched paint DOES NOT DRY!...grandma always used to say, 'a watched kettle never boils' guess it's the same with paint...
Have any of you used 'patio' paints..I usually paint with regular acrylic and now I know why, so see through takes dozens of coats..I'd rather do it my way and spray them for protection...
Good Morning, Ladies..
Betty you are too busy.
About lasagna: in my readings and experience I think it is the type of paper that needs attention. Don't use glossy paper, like magazines and ads. Seems that colored ink on regular newsprint is not a problem. Sometimes there is colored ink on cardboard, too, and I have not had a problem with its decomposition. Also no problem with flowers growing in it. I just avoid the glossy paper. But others with more experience might tell you differently, I don't know.
Laura I have tons of fabric. Will go through it tonight. What a fun idea you have.
Judy, nice that you are enjoying your yard. I think that is the first place we all go when we have an opportunity. I usually step outside as my coffee is brewing. Sometimes I forget to come in to get my coffee.
Nice that we all have a place to go where we feel comfort. Nature does that for all of us.
OK, I am so far behind with everybody....I will never catch up.
But my thoughts are never far from any of you.
Have a good day.
Hugs..

d a m...wow, think what Paul and Suzanne had just hit me...yuk as I hold my tummy..wouldn't you know it..long weekend/full of energy and wacko..so off to lay down, doubt I'll finish projects unless of course this leave me...
shooots..
Oh no Betty! Hope it's just a passing thing and not what they had.
So sorry Betty. Feel better soon. BEV
It was an awesome day! Weather was so perfect! We walked and walked and walked-----much too much.
Ruby, especially, had a hard time. Her back was really bothering her....At one point, John was willing to go back to the car and get the wheelchair they brought. He is such a Sweetheart!
So--at one point, Ruby sat down in the grass and rested, and while we went on to explore one more area, she and John headed for the DuPonte house and that is where we met up with them about 45 minutes later. Then we all went to have lunch.
Here's Ruby taking a break...
Here's a Group Shot under the Wisterias.....Oh my! They are EVERYWHERE! Old and gnarly and beautifully in bloom.
This was taken before the 2 people from NJ joined us. Sheesh! I should have looked at the picture so I could tell you who is who....
Anyway--I think, from the left--Shirley, Gita, Sally, Chris (ladygardener) and Ruby
Beautiful photo's, thank you for taking them and thanks for giving each other a 'hug' on our behalf...
Been in bed for a few hours, think I used up all that energy..lol..usually make it to at least 6 or 7, today only till 1:00...
So now I'm awake, think I'll have my bath, get into jammies and will try for tomorrow...
Hope you feel better soon Betty.
Gita and Ruby..what a great picture of you two. So happy...I can just imagine hte converstion and giggles about..

Whew!!!! Just read through a few days worth of posts. You folks are certainly busy bees. Betty, if you are feeling poorly tomorrow, please promise us to go to a doctor.
Yes, Gita and I, plus all the other tourees loved Longwood Gardens. My party left a couple of hours before everyone else and Gita wrote to say that we missed some really lovely things. We will return probably the next time that we go to visit my niece who is not too far The Gardens. As we were leaving I stopped in the Gift Shop and bought a book telling about the Gardens and also bought two tiny plants to remind me of the day. I bought a red Kalancha and a Polka Dot Plant. I will re-pot them sometime tomorrow.
Judy, thanks for sharing the pictures of your daughter preparing to go to Prom. How exciting everything leading up to the dance is for teens and their parents too. Neither of my sons attended theirs. I will have to make sure that I am still around when Miss Emily attends hers.
I don't have too much else to say but I enjoyed hearing from everyone and their busy lives. Welcome to our new people. This is a good place to be. Such lovely women here. Take care everyone.
Ruby
