Laura, here is the bracelet you wanted to see. I should have placed it flat so you could see some of the other charms, but at least you can see the NANA on it.
You all have a good day. And please stay out of trouble.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.42 Visit with Friends
Love the tulips Vicki..now tell me, those of you that have such beauties in the yard, do you cut and make bouquets for in the house??? Saw that perhaps my lilac tree might bloom shortly, those I do take inside..they will be few this years as I cut so much old out last fall and this spring..think I might pick up 3 or 4 more bushes this weekend and plant them as fillers..saw some nice pink ones at Home Depot for $14.98...think that's a good deal...do you have much 'deer' damage or do you have enough food for them to eat that they don't bother..when I was on the farm we always had deer but they didn't come near my gardens...bears did, but not the deer...
Bev, loved the poem..I shared some time last year a similar happening..my DH showed extreme illness the day after we celebrated our 25th..within 3 weeks he had died..I had never been alone during those 3 weeks..the last night in the funeral home I asked everyone leaving between the aft. and eve. showing to let me stay all on my own, they brought me a chair and a pencil and pad and I simply said, "Roger, if you were here what would you want said" and within seconds I wrote and wrote and wrote, looking back it was nothing I would have ever said, but I'm sure I was the tool in which he could speak to everyone..the morning of the funeral I read this writting..Roger had given me the courage to do so..my SIL had it framed for me..amazing how we get the courage to write such intense feelings from the heart as guided by the deceased...
Was worried about you all, OMG so much bad weather all around the world..we'd all better start behaving..someone UP THERE is trying to tell us something I'm sure....
Liz, how wonderful they loved the hand-made gifts...always better getting a gift made of love...yep, you'd better finish your 'red/white/blue' project...just a couple more weeks left...I went to 2 garage sales Sat. morning, but nothing to convert into a treasure..so this weekend I'll be on the look-out...bet you are thrilled to see FIL taking up a long forgotten craft...he certainly did a beautiful job on your piece..again, where will you be putting it???
Ahhh Laura, thought your boss had gotten over her needs to be mean and spitefull..have courage, DO NOT let her get the best of you..it hurts you and does nothing to her..don't let her do it..nope...sounds as though you enjoyed Mothers Day as well..
OH, it's so dark outside one would think it's nighttime..sky looks mean..
I decided to drive in on my own this morning..sometimes it's nice to reflect before starting the week, although it's $$$ out of the pocketbook and at the price of gas..yuk..I have to drive in Wednesday as well as my appt. is mid aft. which reminds me, must add it to the schedule..told Paul but should have entered it in..will do so..
Shar, I've quite a few roses coming up, didn't think I planted many but must have, so now if I get get a rose or two I'll be hooked..you know those little rose shrubs you purchase for your table, mostly in grocery stores, planted 3 of them before I killed them in their pots and my goodness they are proving to be healthy plants..
Theresa you'll have to share some of your poetry..both Shar/Judy and Laura enjoy writting as well...most should be published...now Bev has shown us her ability to write poems as well..we sure are a multi talented group..and believe Theresa..those young ones Judy/Liz are always full of mischief..that they are, but then that's what endears them to us..what one doesn't think of the other does...
Always enjoy Dawn dropping in, one never knows what she'll say, brings me joy..as does our Laura..
Gita, did you work in the greenhouse yesterday..must have been a madhouse....know you had the family on Sat. so you've also been busy...
Ruby and all others looking forward to hearing about your weekend, gardens and life in general..lol..nosy me...
Betty I am heading outside. Deer pretty much leave all my garden stuff alone except for a nibble here and there sometimes. Glad the roses are growing. I have no luck with them but maybe next year try again. Oh yes I leave the tulips outside. Those are all I have and I can enjoy them just as well out there.
Shar..love the bracelet..charms are not dangly type right they just fit on the bracelet..bet I can guess who got you that treasure...
And you'd guess right, Betty. No they don't dangle, it is a really nice gift, one that Laura had mentioned earlier.
I do hope your roses bloom. Mine are unbelievable. we had a windstorm all day yesterday, and limbs are down all over, but those little roses just held right on. Still beautiful this morning.
It is truly beautiful Shar..I had a charm bracelet before but found those dangling ones were always getting caught..did you get to see Ethan this past weekend, were they up? Know it's hard when your DS has work in other areas taking him far away...
I had a special memory of Roger..a client Gino (sure wish he was 10 years older - I'd be making a play for him lol) came in to talk with Paul regarding using his tow truck operation, anyway he wears the same after shave as did Roger..he came in and gave me a big hug/kiss and the scent is lingering on...hope is does all day....love it...
Hi everyone. What a hectic weekend here. My daughters bday was Fri so we got together and went shopping for that and Mothers Day. We've done that the last several years and have a ball. But she lives almost 2 hrs away and I drove over and then drove all day. Got home about 7. Sat, a few of us DGer's from this area met at a gals house almost 3 hrs away. I drove all day again & got home about 7 or 7:30. Well worth it both days, but I crashed yesterday. Had laundry to do and household things to catch up on. I jokingly say I have to come back to work to catch up, but sometimes I'm not really joking! :-)
We had high winds and rain but most of the tornadoes were 60 miles or so south of us. It got bad down there. This has been a crazy year for storms. Tornadoes & thunder storms in the winter time!
Hi Theresa & welcome. I don't post as much as most but I still follow along as much as I can. Work gets in the way sometimes.
Hugs to everyone
Cathy, so glad you didn't get hit..how much fun is that, getting to meet with other DG members...the closest DG member to me is in my home town but I've not seen her post for 1 year, then comes our darling Carol and it's my dream to visit with her..nice that your outing with daughter was filled with laughter and good times...as for going to work on Mondays for a rest..I can agree with you..only way to keep us out of mischief...that was a lot of travelling for one weekend...
I'm amazed, looked at all the cars as I drove in and all but a few only had 1 person in them so don't think the gas prices are having much of an effect or more would be car pooling...
It WAS fun Betty. We met at Robynznest's place. Pepper23 was there and Hillbilly_gran. Plus a couple others who aren't DG members. Several others in MO wanted to come but it didn't work out. We swapped plants and pigged out and just thoroughly enjoyed the day. Hope we can do it again soon!
Lucky you..tell you I keep purchasing those lottery ticket in hopes of making a tour of the USA to visit all the wonderful people I've become friends with..eventually I'M SURE my numbers will come up...
A great big welcome to you, Theresa!!!!
Betty,
Yes, I worked in outside garden yesterday..(Not the Greenhouse). We were busy, but I think the Sunday before last we were much busier. I would say it was "insane"!!!
I am on such a "high" to be out there for the 4 hours.....chatted with several people--"educated" them.....I was literally stopping people and asking them, "Do you have any questions about gardening? Anything???".....Talk about being brazen!!! This one old lady said she had a lot of questions, but could not think of any. I asked her to make a list at home and then come back next Sunday and i will try to answer them all...
What I don't like is that I get "sucked" inside and people start asking me questions about grills and mowers.....NOT my job! Of course--I look the same as anyone else as we all wear those stupid aprons..... (Theresa--I work in a Home Depot).
We have had 4 days of cool and way too much rain! Last night we got 3" of rain! It is chilly outside--I worry about all my small plants--still in their little cell-packs. Gotta get them planted!!!! Gotta! Gotta!!!! Don't want to lose all those flowers I took such care of growing them from seed....
Bought myself a Passiflora plant ("Lady Margaret") at HD as a Mother's day present to myself. $23....I had one years ago--it climber all over my shed and had the cutest, red blooms....I just keep adding to my "to plant" list. Don't know when I will get it all done!!!!
Gita
Here is a bloom of the "Lady Margaret" Passi.
Lady Margaret is gorgeous...you'll be spending all the money you make during your 4 hrs. on plants...why not..no better place right...
Ruby, how are you doing? will have to go in search of you...so strange that when someone goes missing we fret...lol...and yet we might now hear from family members for days and it doesn't concern us...
I am SOOO bored here today..everything is quiet...
Paul (boss/BIL) came in this morning and said he felt as though he was catching something..now he's shivering like crazy, running a temp but has a very important meeting at 1:00 pm re the Innisfil building so doesn't want to go home..but, I'd not want to be the person he meets with as this flu is highly contagious..lordy, I hope I don't get it..
Wow, is that gorgeous or what...you all have such different plants/vines..truly amazing..keep this up and I'll be shuffling off to Buffalo and points further south to live...nothing that spectacular in my neighborhood...
STARTING TO TAKE FOREVER TO DOWNLOAD....thought I'd move us over...

Good Morning!
Welcome Teresa...Yep you linked up to some of the most Beautiful people in Daves Garden! Gate always open...
How awsom for you Cat! whew, lots of driving but oh so worth it.
Ha, Liz...hand on hip, I read, I read...ROFL brings a tune to mind,
...Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to right...hear i am stuck in the middle of you...
Yep miss tattle tale did text me first thing this AM. LOL...(Um should we give our Shar a call again?)
So glad your visit with family was quiet too. Well mine was LOUD but no arguments!
But I have to tell you all...We kept baby Alexander for the day. Even Great grandma held him! So, left her in the kitchen and when i returned she had him on the floor in the corner, tossed like a ol sack flour! So I gave her a little shove in the arm and said hey is that how ya treat my grandkid?? Picked him up and put him back in the bassinet. Told her I was telling his Ma. LOL...hehehe, I did too later, but Breenie told me grandma already told on herself...apologized even! She was so cute, She said aw it's my first motherday too...so we had to have a picture.
Thanks for the hug Ves! Glad your deer got scared away. They did eat my tulip afterall. But I did manage to get a shot first! Oh How Lovely your tulips are, thank you for sharing them with us. Made me smile big this morning!
OMG Dawn...I can't beleive Parv won on survivor. I really was hoping Amanda would win..LOL poor young Eric.
Shar, yep, hand on the hip here...you do know it's Thelma's fault right? she just brings out the mischif in me...ROFL you should hear us on the phone, DH just shakes his and walks away! Oh such a wonderful bracelet you are wearing!
Hi Laura, You hang tight...the boss lady, Well, since Shar's watching I'll Behave and not say what i am thinking about her...Just know you are doing great so don't let her get to you. Hugging you tight.
Betty...Was so glad to see your day was wonderful...The boys helping you in the gardens. I loved the photo of grandsons...you should have that one framed!
So, I also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and enjoyed my day very leisure like. Julia modeled for grandma, she did get her Shawl and white gloves. LOL don't know who is more excited about her prom me or her! Oh and Liz, she isn't going to go with the hair sytle we chose...So i don't know, wants waves but not curls...holy moly does that even make sense?
Well i best get to work!
So here is my lil ma.
Cute kid there Judy! I wanted Amanda too and she seemed shocked and visibly disappointed. Eric LOL!!
I am just like a butterfly here for sure. I think I am a frequent flyer until I miss a few hours or a day and can not ever catch up.
Bev that is so sad and I am really sorry because I don't know how I would drap myself to my brother's funeral. I hope the words you were inspired to write, were a great comfort to all who heard it and knew the inspiration.
Vicky that probably is true, DS was waiting for you to take the dirt nap when you heard the words. giggles
Theresa that would be interesting to know the far back family medical history, but it doesn't sound like it would be too helpful in preventing it.
