Good pictures. Love all your iris. I think I will have to order a batik collection. They are really different.
What's Blooming Outside Your Door, Part 2
This iris I acquired as a "freebie" last year. Someone in town put a lot of clumps on the curb with a free iris sign. Hit the breaks and took a lot home. They all appear to be this yellow variety, but have grown very large this first year. May have to devide already ..They are pretty and they were free!
This tread is getting to long, start volume 3
I'm with Pix-none of the veggies look good at all. The lettuce is finally starting to look like something-about what I expected to see, oh, a month or so ago. I'm still optimistic about the peppers, but all the squash and melons and cukes are pretty well done for.
Lets all hope for a Indian summer, didnt get time to plant anything yet. maybe there is still time?
Bea - your side yard is really pretty, you must love walking out there to check on it !
Nice flowerbed Bea. Border, lights, fencing and all. I have a group of buds on my tomato plants. The other one is almost showing buds.
I have direct sown seedlings up, hot peppers and tomatoes in addition to a plethora of herbs and flowers, but seems everything germinated then went into a holding pattern. Haven't seen much growth from them at all though I do notice changes when it's warm. C'mon sun...help us out here! The sweet peppers and other tomatoes I have indoor sown (a-gain...third times the charm, right?) and have them variously either under the grow light or on a heat mat under a dome. Hopefully something will happen!
Yes, I love going to my yard. Wish I was there now. Been catching up on laundry & house work today. Boring! It also just started sprinkling and I think they forecast for rain. Enough already! I did find one tiny tomato yesterday. I sure hope his friends come join the party soon. I have lots of flowers on my tomatoes, but that's about it. I agree..the veggies need some warmer weather to get jump started.
Here is a blurry picture of my tomato. It is the size of a grape. With my luck it is a cherry tomato and the girls & I will have to fight over it!

Your squash & artickokes look promising. Your CA weather will help them along I am sure!
popped out quickly in the rain to shoot a few daily shots of pretty things in bloom today. We had sunshine until about 4pm. A few roses decided it was time to show themselves, Yeah! Sorry, but do not have identites as it was a quick trip..no time to read the names or their tags.
A yellow one..
Gorgeous. I'm drooling.
Oooh, love that purple on purple one! Gorgeous pictures.
oh! I tell you... I keep seeing these Iris pictures here...and then I see those Iris co-ops going on.... I am doing some serious damage to my retirement fund! LOL! I dont even remember how many I have ordered...but I know they are all arriving in the fall! LOLOL!
This thread is becoming dangerous :o)
You all have got me hooked LOL I just order 12. 6 are everblooming and 6 are German. plus what I have and others coming, need to make a new bed just for them.
HI Joel ~ Welcome to PNW. A friendly and chatty lot you'll find here. And all enablers. Trust me, this I know from experience. I was new 6 months ago and have never looked back. Your rockrose is beautiful. It looks like you had it wadded up in your pocket, pulled it out and tried to smooth it down for the pic. Love the wrinkly look of it!
Kate ~ Love that peachy color of the Halimiocistus.
Anjl, Bea, and Carla ~ a great big GRRR to you guys with all your bloomin' flowers and veggies! They're all gorgeous! If we could have a day or two of sunshine here we'd probably get another growth spurt from the seedlings!
Welcome, Joel. Thanks for posting. Outta's right - all enablers (more like enforcers) here, so be careful.
I just noticed several cistus blooming on my way home from work last night. I do love them.
Hi Joel , welcome! My sis lived in Renton until about 5 yrs ago... so I know right where you are!
I too have zone envy... cause now all my iris and daffs and hyancinths are long gone... just browning foilage now :o(
Glads are starting to come up tho... whoo hoo! no flowers yet, but I have one glad that surpassed all the others in height....just shot up over the weekend and has buds! This guy is close to 5' tall! all the rest are still only 3'
