Blooms on my Weigela.

This BI will need to be relocated before next season. Needs some color in the background to make it pop. White flower on white fence is not a good thing. The BI is so pretty anyway!

Here is the red hot poker. Planted this last year, so have been waiting for this thing to bloom for a long time. This year added knipfofia 'green jade', but will have to wait till next year to see them together.

Wow..blooms already. Lucky you! Mine has reached the top of my
gazebo..but no signs of blooms. Makes a neat picture anyway. I try another when the sun is shining..

Thanks Bea! I was scared I wouldn't get blooms the first year, but they are wonderful, and smell yummy! If yours is japanese it will bloom after the leafs. Chinese blooms before, but can I can start to see leaves forming.
Arisamea sikokianum, I love this thing!

NWGordon..Your red hot poker is so different than the few I have.
I was not aware that there are different types. Yours looks so much stronger and hardy and the coloration, leaf structure are so different. Learned something new today.

After doing some research on my old invoices, this is refered to as a poker
primrose and not a red hot poker . I purchased it through farmseed.com

It is heck getting old and trying to remember things. I used to be so sharp!
geeze..sorry for the confusion.

Wow! The color of that is cool. A smart person is going to come on and tell us the diffrence. My guess is that you have torch lilies and not the knipfofia. I don't even think I am spelling it right! lol Going to look now!

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Bea, I have the same kind of Red Hot Poker as Gordon - now I want some like yours! That is gorgeous.

Beautiful flower pics everyone! Here's what's finally blooming here. I was afraid they would freeze before they got a chance to bloom, but they didn't THANK HEAVEN cause I LOVE their fragrance! When I mow under them I stop the mower and just sit there with the flowers in my face and take a huge deep breath! So you might say I "stop and smell the Lilacs"! LOL!

Beautiful iris cocojuno..& the lilacs gardner 105 fantastic! I have several little lilac saplings that I hope will grow up to look like yours.

Day started with a emergency root canal at 8am. Fun! But I feel so much better now and was able to get out into the garden this afternoon & even eat dinner. Something that was not possible yesterday. I was miserable. Back into the swing of things I had this lovely Iris just waiting to be photographed.
