Hi Melodie, sounds really nice-please post pictures-we love seeing gardens here...

Balvenie, what a beautiful garden! And is that a haiku, too?

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Yes, I want to know what is that red leafed bush with pink flowers? Beautiful gardens.

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

The beautiful pink shrub has been in for two or three years and flowered now for the first time. It is Loropetalum chinense 'sizzling pink'. And boy does it ever sizzle in real life.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Spent most of the day planting daylilies. Boy am I tired now!
I have some beautiful Bearded Iris that bloomed overnight. This one is my favorite of the day. It smells so wonderful. So Sweet!
Its a NOID for now. I plan to identify these soon.

switching gears now..check out this dephinium with a potato vine.
This delphinium, if you stare at it..it almost looks 3-D or maybe I am very jus very tired. The color is so saturated.

Balvenie & Beahive - beautiful blooms & gardens - Thanks for sharing!

Horrible weather all weekend, but managed to get a lot done in between showers. Finally have claimed back my dining room it is no longer a nursery/hot house for my seedlings. Still have my African Voilets under grow lights until my shelves arrive..Then the grow lights are back to the garage. My cat watched me clean up the room today. She was a big help. When the table was cleared, she jumped over and layed herself down. She got in trouble after that. Then made herself comforatble on the buffet. Bad Kitty!

Out in the garden I finally decided where to put my Pink "Falling in Love" rose. By my Pink Chair of course! The Climbing red rose behind the chair is also blooming.. Yeah! Smells great !

It is IRIS Heaven around my yard!! Tulips/daffodils have been replaced quickly..It is magical the transformation...

That is OBSCENE (in a totally good way). Wow. What an impact.

We must have stolen your good weather. Three days with no rain (only at night). I'm tired and sunburned and got so much done!!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

more iris's.. peach colored bearded NOID. She is a little crooked..but still lovely.

Bea, your kitty blends perfectly in with those colors! lol! Looks like he/she belongs there!
I love your gardens! I hope to have that many iris next year....have a big order of them coming in the fall :o)
It amazes me that you are not that far from here, yet the season seems a whole month behind us. My daffs & Hyancinth have been long gone, and the iris have bloomed and dying back now. Now my mums are starting to bloom! yipee!

Heres my new tippy pots...transplanted my herbs into the tippy pot so I could plant all my 'nursery plants'--okay well some of my nursery plants... still have lots more that need to get in the ground! LOL!

Katie..glad you had nice weather for the weekend. Be careful in the sun. It will give ya wrinkles...

I always have sunscreen lotion on my face, it's my shoulders I seem to forget about. And then to have to go back inside the house when I'm just getting started . . . I'm not very good at that.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

lol, sunscreen just makes the dirt stick to me, and i hate that :o) think I'd rather get wrinkles :o) I wear a hat... most of the time.....:o)

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Anjl..your new tippy pots are great. I have some herbs I am thinking about moving as they are not doing well on the porch in their small pots. May make one of these in the veggie garden...

Kitty seems to like the good furniture no matter how often I make her get down off of it. She was not listening here. I ended up putting aluminum foil across the couch to keep her off (cats don't like foil)
Now she stays off that part, but I find her napping on the arms of the
couch..She is so naughty.
Pic of her caught in the act not to long ago... Bad Kitty! Got to love her anyway!

She's so beautiful - I'd give her the couch!!!!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Ha - my cats have been known to sleep on foil. Just wait until she figures it out.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

I have a nerd tan. From wearing gloves, tee or tank tops, and the small of my back from my shirt rising when I am bending over. Soon I will be able to wear shorts and have that lovely line across my thighs. Gardening is so glamorus! But I would rather garden & get dirty then get all dressed up and have to wear heals & a dress!
Still like perfume, but not when I am gardening..attract's bee's. Love them, but don't want them buzzing so close to get a wiff!
I think this is called a sweetpea bush or something like that. Very pretty next to my wall flowers.. Lots of purple!!

Thumbnail by BeaHive

Love the iris, but the cat steals the show! What a beauty she is, and she completely knows it! Also, I am coveting your bee pillow. I have a number of Bee things, as my name means 'honeybee'. It's appropriate. I have the attention span of a honeybee . I just go from flower to flower!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Hi Murmur..how about your couch? LOL!! She has the family room couch which is plenty comfortable, 4 beds to choose from, a cat bed, the dogs bed but noooooo she likes the good furniture.
Katie..sleep on foil..oh no.. I am doomed. Just hate it when guest come over to visist , sit on the couch and leave with cat hair on their behinds.. LOL.. :)
This Dutch iris is cool with its stripes.

My cats both sleep anywhere they want - except next to DH, who doesn't like animals. They are very spoiled!

I'm absolutely loving everyone's gardens!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Bea - I have seen that happen. My goal is to make sure that most of the world has their own cat so they won't suspect when they pick up hair from mine. LOL Actually, I have so many cats that I'm just happy if hair is all they leave behind.

Maybe if you put a pile of "clean" clothes on the bed she'll head there. I have squares of fleece material that I put in the cats' favorite spots so I just have to wash the fleece. If I put a stack of clean, folded clothes on the bed, I make sure to put a piece of fleece on top of that.

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Oh, yes - a basket of folded clean towels is an open invitation . . . if the towels are dark, Margie gets on them (she's mostly white). If they are light colored, Friday gets on them (she's black). How do they know?

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

pixy..cute story with the bee pillow. My mom gave to me for my birthday last month. She was so upset because it was supposed to be a lamp shade when finished for a small night light. Well the shade was to small to fit around the shade frame. ( this was a kit)
This is what she came up with as she did not want to throw away her hard work. I think it is cute and smile everytime I think of what it was suposed to be & giggle a little too.. I will cherish it cuz it's from my Mommy! I love Bee stuff too. I saw the cutest baby bumble this evening..tried to get her picture , but she would not slow down..she was going nuts with all the flavors of Iris's to choose from..

My kitty is an outdoor kitty, mostly by choice (he never liked being couped up!) but my son is also allergic. Got kitty and son at the same time and couldnt decide which one to get rid of, so kept them both! LOL! (just kidding, Dusty and Kody are great pals and it would break kittys heart if I got rid of Kody!)
