Mango tree.
Tropical garden #9
placenciarita, thanks. I started my mango from a seed so the fruit is not very good but I'll use it as a shade tree. It's shame I can't enjoy the mangos. Live and learn. I have clerodendron pups come up some time I can pot up for a trade if you like one. I've heard someone said clerodendron is invasive but I don't see that many pups. I hear you about the grand-kids, we don't understand some things they do but they are wonderful fruits and reflections from own-self.
You have a wonderful tropical paradise!!!
Rita, Colin's hair does look better cut. And I'm jealous that Jerry's Konjac is blooming. Congrats.
Nice pictures you all.
Sunshinesw, I sure would like to have one of your clerodendron pups, thank you for the offer.
Truetropical77, you made me go out to check my bromeliads for blooms--nothing yet.
Dean_W, thank you from all of us. We sure would like to see pictures of your garden, or of your gardening interests.
candela, all the begonias are doing fine ,sadly, the tree orchid died.
first bloom for this plumeria
Your pics are absolutely beautiful!!
I am just curious if you ordered your alocasia stingray online???????
I think I need one of those!!
LOL!!!
Janet
Rob, Could you get a closer picture of the Farfugium Japonicum "Gigantea". I can barely make it out. What's wrong with your Cycas Revoluta in front? It looks like it needs water.
I have one that's turning yellowish. Any ideal what's wrong with it? Iron deffiency, magnesium defiency, or should I add some Nitrogen. There in front of my house in huge pots.
Yes, great hibiscus everyone.
Dean, I will try to get a closer shot this weekend! The plant in the pot is actually a Dioon. It was already in the house when I moved in! Believe me, it looked much much worse before...I think it just needs some TLC, it's getting better little by little...
I'm also getting the yellowing problem on some of my palm trees...and I am also trying to figure it out! I actually posted a question and was told to fertilize. Here's the link!

Thanks for sharing the link, Rob. Okay, I have some Dioon too. They are still small though in one gallon pots. I guess I need to go over and post a picture and ask my question.
Thanks again,
Dean
Teaxsgal77, we are always behind you and RJ when it comes to blooms. His ginger was blooming a long time before mine started, and I have only one bloom on the iliies.
Texasbigleaves, the hibiscus is 'Amazon Queen' bought at Calloways in Duncanville, $39.99 in a 2 gal. pot.
JanetOS, thank you for the nice words. I found the alocasia stingray at a nursery here in Dallas. My favorite mail order nursery is Natural Selections Exotics for aroids. Their plants are usually very big and healthy.
robcorreia, I am not familiar with the Farfugium japonicum 'Gigantea'. I will have to do a little research on it. It sounds very interesting.
Truetropical77. What are the names of your new Hibiscus, and where did you get them? they look very healthy and big.
Sunshinesw, that is one very impressive bloom.
picture of alocasia lutea from NSE that I bought last week.

Rita- I have some of the farfugium which is a nice shade plant that blooms yellow in the fall for me. Nice texture and good sized for shady areas. I am looking for the one with yellow spots on the leaves sometimes called leopard plant. It is really stunning in shady areas.
Also had the A. stingray but must not be going to return this year.
I have a friend that buy the plugs of EE's from Agri-Starts and may get to share some of varieties with her. Think they are coming in a few weeks. The price is good but they are small plants. With most of them they grow fast in the heat.
DD
DdeTex, farfugium would probably be something that I could plant for fall blooms instead of mums. They are about the only flower that I do not really care for.
Truetropical77, are you going to keep where you bought those hibiscus a secret?
There is not much going on in my tropical garden right now. They are recovering after being covered up for winter. Most of them are just now popping up.
Here is Xanthosoma sagittifolium variegata.
