Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #40

Victoria Harbour, ON

Finished watching 'Dancing with the Stars' but not without falling asleep half way through..Sailor wa barking and here it was Kyle dropping in for a sec on his way home..he must wonder about Grandma being in bed at 8..but then he's not up at 4:45am..lol

Best...leaving for work this morning and knowing I worked hard over the weekend and soon the yard will be filled with flowers..made me happy

Worse..My tummy is upset tonight, not because I'm feeling ill but today I had a call from from someone fighting depression, hearing that they've looked for a tree to do the unthinkable really threw me for a loop..I'm not sure if I've any words that can truly help..advising to get immediate help seemed so little to offer or saying I'd be near my bedside telephone at any hour of the night also seemed pale...this is not the first time, many many years ago shock treatment was given..it's been a battle throughout the years..and now that dark hole is back hitting stronger than ever!

What did I learn today? that regardless of who you are, what you have, the bright future everyone thinks you have, depression is the enemy looming in the mind...

I'm also thinking of you Shar, know your evening will be difficult, many memories of Bob and his last hours..know my prayers, tears, concerns, and pride in knowing just how far you've come are with you...be strong..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gita and Liz, love you secret pal gift..isn't it wonderful to come home and find such treasures as you both received..Judy, back to nature..doesn't it bring a sense of peace...

Carol, having great neighbors is a blessing in it's own..bet it saved you mega work even though you had to work quickly with the rake today...

I'm off to bed..sleep well my friends..

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Just wanted to cheer you all up with this wonderful photo I took 2 days ago.
For 2 blocks, my street is lined with Kwanzan Cherry Trees. This is the time they all bloom. The blooms may last a week--maybe less if we get heavy rains, but they are so beautiful and fragile-looking.....

Here is a shot i took standing under one of the branches and shootin up. LOve the blue of the sky shining through!

Morning!

Gita what a beautiful picture! I did see it last night but it was great to wake up to this morning! Thanks for sharing it. MG that street must be beautiful. Do people drive by to see it? Pretty gifts.

Wow Carol a job that could take days knocked down to a couple of hours! He deserves a pan of brownies for that. What a great visit you had. Doing things like that is always so much fun!

Judy how nice having an extra day off and you used it to get yourself ready for garden season! You might be sore like me but it is such a good feeling. I just take enough aleve to be able to manevour the next day.

Jeannine while reading about your day I kept thinking at least she isn't camping! Glad you made it home safely.

Well Liz I have to admit your stories about the store top mine! Not that I thought of it as a competition! LOL Cute windchime. So happy there wasn't a blowup to ruin the weekend. But I do sense one coming. Tomorrow is truck day and I'm floating so don't know when I have to go in. Hope it isn't 6 in the morning! How did your truck go?

Yesterday was again a beautiful day. Did a couple of things at home then DH had to get a piece of drywall so off we went shopping. Went to Menards and got my compost. 12 bags. Then had to go to Wal-mart. DH needed work shoes and I needed some groceries. Now I don't have to go back out there for a couple of weeks.

Came home changed clothes and started spreading compost on the vegie garden. So good to have that ready for planting! Then I started cleaning up the back hill and got most of that done before I ran out of energy. So good seeing the plants coming up and wondering if some of them will! Lots of little starts of a couple of them.Hate to destroy them but I don't need them all. Now today it is raining. But have plenty I can do in the house. Like working in the house so much better when DH isn't around!

Better go and get some breakfast and plan my day or just do whatever!

Hope you have the day you need!

Pacifica, CA

morning all,

vicki, we had our shipment come with quite a bang yesterday our drivers lift gate was small and the pallet quite tall and large he missed his footing and down went the pallet on its side crushed boxes galore had a few things crushed to smitherines lol but fortunate no chemicals leaked out!! the second pallet he got smart and unloaded part of it, im telling you is there ever a week when we can have a smooth operation going on lol ha ha im with you on quiet in the house!!!!! :) yep he did talk to her but he said he isnt going to start anything just yet. good job on your gardening i have fallen behind maby i can get something done on thursday on my half day off.

jeannine, that was quite the storm! glad your home safe is their any break soon from all the rain?

carol, looks like you girls had loads of fun, cool bird house very unique, what nice neighbors you have.

im working on nothing lol cant focus on projects to tired maby thursday

lol all of us at work were saying we need a extra holliday to!

hi shar, hope your having a good day to

hi ruby, got to get planting those seeds soon

hi cat, still enjoying the warmer weather..

hi tropicanna, rachel, gilli

everyone have a great day

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drove in with the girls this morning..wouldn't have taken much tostay hope, sit and enjoy (but I wouldn't have)..lol..

Had a restless night worrying about my sister, tried to reach her this morning and no answer, but I'll not panick..

Liz, I was finding garden like patterns for my faux windows for the back shed near the DG friendship garden I'm attempting..they are calling for rain Fri./Sat. so if I get it sketched out, I can at least paint my inserts..so today I brought in the 2 front panels and will decide what to put on them, then I want to purchase some nice lace so I can use it as part of my curtain design, use the lace as a stencil.. so that will be my day..Paul and Suzanne downtown at a convention and I'm on my own filling in my day...

Went in and watered all my seedlings, do hope they survice the next month, some will be extremely leggy..but I'm going to make paper cups and fill them with soil and put the sunflower seedling in a cup of their own, that might help...I've so many seeds that I got from my plants last year that I was thinking of making a paste of water and flour and brush it on strips of newspaper then drop my seeds..and plants...see how many take..

Carol, bet you have a place to set that lovely birdhouse..how lovely..I sent to my birdhouse swap a birdhouse - quite primitive that I really liked, now I want one and must go shopping on Friday...your friends look as though they certainly have enjoyed their visit..OMG that's a good deal on geraniums..I looked out at the big frame in the back yard and so want to go purchase a hanging basket for it but I'm afraid they are calling for cooler temps coming this weekend along with the rain, so, had better be patient than sorry...

Vicki, is it far to Walmart, seems you are often shopping for extended amount of time, is that because you've a long way to travel? Do you purchase 'compost' rather than creating it? I should check that out..I don't have a composter, guess I should but my knowledge of it's process is very limited..I know, I could learn right..but if you can purchase it, why not...what are you doing with the drywall..

Jeannine, driving thru those conditions must be much like our blizzards...makes for a long trip but bet FIL loved seeing you all..

wow, almost went back to look at your photo Gita, thank goodness I didn't press click or this message would be floating in cyber space...

Well, off to look at my patterns and try to reach Sharon...

Hope it's a gardening day for you all...

Carol, here's the birdfeeder I want to go pick up..Susan 51 says she likes hers...

Greeting All - I started a post yesterday afternoon and of course the stupid thing went poof and gone. I was answering Gita's message about taking the memory card in to have things transferred to disc. I didn't knot that, so thanks for the tip. I had already ordered a replacement stick and it was in the mail yesterday, so.......Good info to have though.

Now I cannot remember what I was posting yesterday but must have been telling you all about my visit with Emily. She learns new things in between each of my visits. She will be walking soon. She holds herself to coffee table and couch and walks around there. I sat on her bedroom floor with her for a while and we went through her two large bins of toys. We played with each one to see what they do. Been a long time since I have been in the market for toys, so some of them were very new and interesting to me. ha-ha

I swear that she grins all of the time and it is an ear to ear grin too. She was napping when I first arrived so I walked around the yard of the new house that my son and his wife just purchased. I found lots of little starts to many plants that I want to get and bring here and plant. i will also share some of the stuff that is growing here that can be divided. I am going to try and go over to their place in the next week or so and help my DIL plant some bulbs. I told her that Walmart has all of their bulbs on sale now, so she will go and buy waht she wants and I will help her plant them in exchange for the things that I want to
get from their place.

We are still having rain today. This is either day 4 or 5 straight, but we need it so I won't complain. The plants are really loving it I am sure. Well, good to see everyone posting. Welcome back Judy. See you all later on.

Ruby

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Betty My suv doesn't get good mileage. I work one hour a day to pay for my gas to and from work. My shopping and banking are done in the opposite direction which is further but the deals are better and there are lots more stores. So to save on gas I do as much in one trip as possible.

DH knocked out the chimney in his garage this weekend and needs to fix the ceiling. That is what the drywall is for. They had pieces and he only needed half a sheet. Which was a good deal. He is getting everything ready for the new wood boiler installation.

I don't compost. I should but I don't have much stuff. I use the few newspapers we get under the mulch. Then when I need to change it I can just move what is good and underneath has decomposed goes in the flowerbed. We have no leaves to speak of to rake. He hates trees in the yard. So I buy my compost. Last year I buried the corn huks out in the one flowerbed. Don't know how much it helped. But since that is such heavy soil it should of done something. I just know since I started working back there there are now worms. Where I didn't see any before. So I think I am doing something right! LOL

Ruby it sounds like you had a blast with Emily and learned lots besides. As she gets older and remembers more you 2 will be so close.

Gotta go and take out the dog and put mail in the mailbox.

Crozet, VA

I hope that I will be around and be involved in her life for a good while. I had only one grandparent growing up, due to the deaths of the others. My dad's dad lived until I was about 20. i always felt a bit cheated.

Ruby

Victoria Harbour, ON

When do you think these gas prices will recede..telling you what I think..think we were all complained here when it hit $1.00 a litre so by upping it to $1.20 a litre when we see it go down to the $1.00 we'll be jumping up and down with joy...

Hearing you talking about newspaper...Bernice next door has the most beautiful flower gardens, no upkeep, no weeds..what they did is put down roof shingles and covered with top soil and planted..the grass doesn't even go over into her flower bed, nice tidy edge..so might think of doing that in my DG friendship garden..

I'm so bored, let's see what I can do..

Victoria Harbour, ON

didn't accomplish it..took a photo (video) and was sending it to you...
Liz, wore your necklace again today and had 4 people stop me to admire it..

Glenview, IL

Happy Happy Earthday Everyone!

It's beautiful here. So early this morning, I watched the birds in the yard while having coffee.
Have you ever seen a bird doing jumping jacks? Thats what I witnessed brought a grand smile to my face. Of course by the time I grabbed the camera and returned, it was done and flew away.
Then, as I was reminding a co worker it was earth day, I notice our little tree out front was still trying hard to bloom...so went over and gave her a hug. Ok, my co-worker looked at me a little funny as well as a few passerbyers, so I opted to not kiss it too. Will save that for my trees at home.
Anyway we are expecting rain here this evening, I can hardly wait to go out when it is done to smell the earth's perfume...LOL have I told you I love the smell of soil.

Ruby, I am so happy for you and Emily to have such a delightful visit. I enjoy hearing how she is getting around. Ever hear of the "The Giving Tree" by Dr. Suess, great for young children, especially those who already have gardening tools at 6month. smile.

Ves, Well, I hope your unload goes well. Yep, feeding the the worms even a small amount of Vegtable scraps is really good compost. You should notice how well the composted soil is too, much healthier crop you will have as well. If you shread the newspaper and whatever veg. scraps will help them (worm) to work easier and faster. And actually smaller section at time is faster process.

Betty and Carol...What awsom Birdhouse your received and gave!

Gita, Thank you for the Smile this Morning!! Your Blossom photo is stunning. I agree would make a great painting.

Well off to finish my mailing...

Go on now Hug a tree, and thank it for it magnificance.

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

I planted 3 white lilacs I dug up into pots. So their roots could develope more. Does that count Judy????

Glenview, IL

Yay, Ves, I think it, you have shown some extra love to nature.
Big smiles to you. LOL and a hug too

Victoria Harbour, ON

Paul just called, said to head out, 15 minutes early is better than right to the end...

Shar, thank you for the lovely note, it was our pleasure being here for you..you've helped us as much as we've helped you along your journey..everyone needs a friend...

I'll gab to you when I get home....

bye....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Have you read it Amy? It's gorgeous out, in the 70's, many of the neighbors are outside b.b.q.ing..smells delicious..I'm opting for soup though..

Before I get into more comfy clothes I have to decide wether or not to play 'tv' bingo tonight..should if I want to win the $2,000 shouldn't I???Last Tuesday of the month it's $3,000...but I'll not be greedy...

Nice drive home, windows open and tunes on..(just for you Judy) Judy loves her tunes...lol..

Thank you for your concern with regards to my sister..she seems calmer today..going to try and have her come up this weekend...we had talked about doing faux rock containers, could be a lot of fun and it would get her out of the house..she hasn't called a Dr. as yet, don't want to hound her but I don't want to let the issue drop...

Well, better go get those cards, get myself settled in and enjoy what's left of the garden..can't believe just how much everything has grown since Sunday..even the leaves on the lilac trees (what branches are left after Greg got at them) lol and the oak trees out front..each day I see wonders...before you know it, perhaps this weekend, I'll be cutting grass..my favorite thing in the world to do..honest..I'm totally at peace when I'm cutting grass!

So, will be back later to say goodnight...wish me luck

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Thank you all for the compliments on my photo!

Every year--when these bloom--I take pictures.....it is such a fleeting spectacle.....The blooms seem like all the tissue carnations we used to make eons ago.

These Cherry Trees are now old......at least 40 years old.....The branches of most of them are all hollow, thanks to ants and bugs.....but it also provides nesting places for a lot of birds. I call the biggest Kwanzan Cherry tree I have my "bird condo".....They are nesting in every hollow branch...way down deep! What a safe, dry place to raise a brood....NOT on some bush or tree-crotch!

I loved the way the photo turned out as well and now have it on my Desk top. I change the desk Top pictures often......

I succumbed and planted my Tomatoes out today......Woe be me if we get a chilling night----BUT---I have big pots ready to throw over them....
EVERYTHING needs to be planted out NOW-----but I cannot----I just started everything too early......Live and learn!

This is a picture from 2005. We all have these Cherry Trees in front of our houses...They bloom just so briefly---maybe a week-10 days. if it rains--out whole street is covered in blowing, pink petals.....like snow........

Amy, I have read the book, and read it to my grandson whenever he visits.
It is a beautiful book.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Shar you posted. What have you done today? Have you been alone or surrounded by loved ones, sharing stories and laughing and crying? I hope you are holding up, it is almost over babe.

I have bronchitis and missed so many posts I didn't even try to catch up.

Crozet, VA

Thanks for the mention of the book Judy and for the link to order it Amy. Sharon, if you say it is good, that is good enough endorsement for me. I will certainly buy my little gal a copy of it. Thanks ladies.

Oh my gosh Betty, I hate to mow!!! You say that it does for you what watering the garden does for me though.....takes me away to a beautiful and relaxing space.

I hope that you are on the mend now Dawn. Sorry to hear that you have been ailing.

Gita, the blooms were gorgeous. Good pick for your desktop.

Vicky, good luck with the lilacs. I believe that we have a white one too but still very, very small so no blooms yet.

I hope that everyone will have a good day. You ladies take good care now.

It's early morning, calling for rain later today, can imagine the magic it will do to the gardens so it's almost welcomed..

Stayed awake through bingo last night, nope, no big bucks for me - 3 numbers away...watched Dancing with the stars for probably 10 minutes and then into a deep sleep only to wake up the last 5 minutes to see who left..Marley..thought it might be her...

Riley did not return home last night nor is he a round this morning..hope he's just gallavanting and nothing has happened to him..that's the only thing about having pets...

I'm up early because my craft room is a disaster area and the girls are coming to paint today with Darlene AND I have painting class tonight so better get up and at it..never know when Suzanne will call to say she's ready to head out...so, gab with you when I get to the office...read your posts and will respond then....

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Morning all - Another busy day yesterday. Had to leave work early to take both kids to the doctor for their yearly exams. And once again, our insurance has made so we have to go to a different location to get a simple blood and urine test. It is ridiculous!!! A pee in a cup and a prick in the finger and we have to drive across town to get it done. Anyway, didn't go do that yesterday - not sure when I will drag them both over there. After the doc, stopped by the grocery to pick up a few things and DD started throwing all this crap in the cart (cause she was "starving"). I got a little irratated to say the least - this whole entitlement attitude! So she copped an attitude while there and whined about being tired - but oh, Mom, lets go over and see how much a birthday cake will be with a picture on it for my birthday!!! &^$#@* Got home and went right outside for my free therapy session. Planted some arugula and red lettuce plus a couple of patio tomato plants. Finally came in around 7:30. DD was no where around. She comes bounding in the house a bit later and states "Mom, I want to get an exchange student". I'm like, "do you want me to run up to the store and see if they have any in stock"? She starts in on how wonderful it would be to have a "big sister" living with us for a year and how she can learn all about another country and the student could learn all about us. Of course DH and didn't realize how serious she was and had a little fun with her on it which of course just made her mad and revert back to the "attitude". Anyway, she went up stairs to take her shower and I went up a bit later and could tell she had been crying and that she was really serious about this exchange student thing. So I tried to explain to her that no everyone is cut out for that (I know I'm not!) and that having another person live with us for 6 mths to a year was not something we were interested in. She just had gotten it in her mind that she wanted a girl from England and how she could go to school with her and they could be best friends, etc. ARGH! I tried to appease her by suggesting maybe a pen pal from England (I have a friend over there with a teenage DD - maybe I could get them together). NOPE - that won't work! All because her friend's parents across the street are thinking about doing this (they did it 2 years ago and got a ungrateful real brat of a girl from Germany). So I just tried again to explain that this was not somehting her dad and I were interested in but that I can understand her desire to have this "one true friend". I told her that while on the surface it sounds like a fun adventure, it really is a lot of work and would she really want another person living in her house for a year (she and her "BFF" fight and make up at least 3 times a week!). TEENAGERS!!! So we put that discussion to bed and she finally went to sleep. She got up this morning and all appear fine (the calm before the storm?). She asked me "where are the Goldfish we bought at the store yesterday". Well, I had put them back because we already had snack stuff for thier lunches. I gave her other suggestions for her lunch - like applesauce, an orange, carrots, an apple, etc. Nope, nope, nope! OMG - the attitude was back!!! So I come downstairs, and she tells me "I need a red high heel shoe" (note: the entitlement attitude was back!). I'm like, what? She needs a red high heel shoe for an art project. I'm like, well hon, I'm not going out to buy a red high for an art project - you can take a pair of your shoes and spray paint them!. " I can't do that, blah, blah, blah". So I walk away and take the dog out and she leaves for school without even saying BOO! Do kids realize how they can hurt parents??? I drove by the bus stop on the way out and she just totally ignored me. OUCH! Oh well - God help me make it thru the teenage years!!!!! Anybody have a red high heel shoe they want to get rid of??

Back to the calmness of work........

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Is she by any chance 14?
I remember that age was a bit difficult with my daughter....
and now her daughter who is 14 has moments of attitude too.

It must be in the "Rules for teenagers to drive their parents around the bend"..LOL

Remember Jeannine..
"This too shall pass"

I was at the shovelling the soil this monring..using my Lil' Deere with the cart. It came back early this monring and I got right at it.
But it started to rain..so I am inside for a bit. Looks like it might clear up soon though.

I got two lovely Martha Washington Geraniums, 17 regular ones and a hanging basket of just Torenia..a lovely purple.
I put them in the garge overnight..I wnated to take advantage of the sale..I know it is too early to leave them out overnight.
I put them outside this morning..so pretty.

Cheers,
Carol

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Carol, DD is 12 (13 in June) and you mean it gets "better"?!!! UGH!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I've done it again, got carried away with writting a novel, checking out something for Paul and there it went, cyber space..can you just imagine all those stories floating around for aliens to read..lol..

Jeannine do you have a Salvation Army store or the like around where you live that you might be able to pick up 'red heals'..wow, teen years, scarry stuff, often it's a battle of 'who wears who down' .. you'll have to ask her how she would feel if this live in school girl came and they didn't get along, that's a long time to be roomate with someone you have no interests with..is there a program that you can take one for 2 weeks or so, just to give her a taste of how other students live in different countries..YOU could always ship her out to another country for her teen years...could be a good plan..lol (just joking) you will handle all this with tact and diplomacy I'm sure...

Well, got my appt. with the specialist, not that far away - May 14th at 2pm in Penetanguishene so I'll only work 1/2 day that day..

And, just as I was leaving the house this morning, who came walking by, the long lost Riley..within seconds had eaten and now laying comfy on my bed..so no worries there...

Sue and I are taking an early lunch, dying for salad bar but no restaurants close enough to here so have no idea where we are eating..of course the Mandarin has all you can eat buffet, every type of food, if we head there know we both will eat what we should not..I'm being very good, watching my food intake..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Carol, sounds as though the garden center had great buys...it was raining when I left home this morning, in fact 'thunder and lightning', Sailor was going absolutely crazy but as we reached the city the rain had stopped...

Lucky you getting your John Deere repaired...makes the work a lot easier..had hoped to win 'tv bingo' last night as there would be one in my yard today...BUT the jackpot is $3K next Tuesday so maybe the good Lord wanted to wait till then to have me win so I can get the cart to go with it...right? chuckling...

Another great article about Aunt Bett Shar...how are you feeling today, am sure you are totally drained...

Mom called me today, had a few momento's that she's cleaning out and because her mother died only months before my birth and I was named after her (age 34) she thought I might want the plaque that was on her casket which has her name...I was given her watch which had been engraved so will put the plaque with it...I did not mention Sharon, but a few minutes into our conversation she mentioned that going out to find a tree to hang yourself won't accomplish anything..so we talked about it for awhile..watched anything I said that she might go back and say 'Betty' said...sometimes that happens.. I also talked with Sharon for a few minutes today, she was going to the mall to look around to get out rather than stay in bed...mom did say though that last week, one of the girls (15 going on 36 and built the same) was out with friends and they did a bit of shoplifting and now she must go to court..now tell me, here this young girl, adopted into wealth, get's absolutely everything and I mean everything she could possibly want, private school, in all kinds of groups, music lessons etc. why she would have the need to shoplift...so, this along with Sharon's difficulties with her 40 year old son living with her (thinking he might be on drugs) and the daughter no wonder she finds it overwhelming...we did come to the conclusion though that he should move ASAP..so mom will call Sharon and suggest (hope she takes it that way because they tend to buck heads) that she should go out, find a place for him (he says he has one starting mid May but I doubt it) pay 1st and last months rent for him, get hime furniture together and say here's the key...she can afford to do so..money won't do her any good if she's suicidal..so let's see what becomes of that..

Glenview, IL

Hello Everyone.
A glorious day to be out for sure! Except I am stuck in side.

But I am enjoying your days so far.
Betty, so glad to hear your appointment is sooner. Continued prayers for you.
You made me chuckle, with listening to tunes on your drives. Yep got to admit music is wonderful company to me. Also, Advice to Jeannine...LOL can't tell how many wanted to send kiddo's away. Well then we did, for various reasons and I tell ya they had to come back. I missed them so badly.
So, Jeannine, know how you missed your DS when he went on his overnight trip with Grandpa, that feeling is tenfold with your DD. LOL attitude and all.

Poor Baby Dawn, I am so sorry you got sick again, now I am glad to hear your much better. Always good to see you and what you got to share with us.

LOL guess I don't have to tell who is smiling big. And for anyone who doesn't follow Rockin Roll, it is John Cougar Melencamp...Oh yeah.

Carol, Yippee, got your little John Deere fixed and already working. Your new plants sound beautiful.

Ruby, I am in agreement, Hate to Mow the lawn, but I do love to watch, freshly cut grass has a wonderful aroma. And looks so pretty when done.

Hehehe, yet another ingredient for the much pile.

Sharon, I hope you are enjoying the weather these past days. I can’t help but think you are working in the gardens or writing a story…I enjoyed today’s Aunt Bett Story this morning. I miss you.

We are having a bit of excitement in our household.
Julia has decided to attend her Senior Prom. She has been shopping and found the perfect Gown, looks as if it were tailored to her body. She modeled for us and I am simply in heaven to see my baby girl looking so elegant. A Princess for sure. Now we will make hair and beauty appointments. Judy, know you know my age but lordy, WHO is John Cougar Melencamp???? not a good thing that I don't know him right...yikes, boss asked if he could come to lunch with us, off to Vaughan Mills Mall, largest in this area..we just got back..extended lunches are ok when you are with the boss..lol...guess that means he'll not tell us to go home at 4:30 today like he did the last 2 days...

Now you know Judy you'll have to tak photo's of Julia..does she have an escort or do they do that these days..goodness I really am showing my age!

Dawn, sorry to hear you've not been well of late..you've had a rough winter haven't you..sick off and on..how is Greg doing - is he back at work?

Feel as though I could have a nap right now, soap opera is on, not sure which one, I only get a few channels..Paul promises satelite dish hook-up when we move...so perhaps I'll put my nestle into this big office chair and rest...

I will try to catch up with every body a little later tonight.

don't forget the Secret Pal fun will start anew next week....so be sure you have sent your last gifts.

It's been a long day..Suzanne was staying late in the city so my nieces gave me a ride to my car..only problem was, they forgot to put gas in the vehicle, so here we are, on the 400 extension and no gas...was only about 5 miles from DB Bernie, I called about 10 times - no answer so Cindy called her hubby and had him pick up gas and travel about 40k to bring it..just before he arrived, Bernie got my message, brought us gas..I was 15 minutes late getting home for class and all the women were in the backyard enjoying...by the time I put on some gladrags it was 7:30 so, they've just left..

I made sure my boys knew about Kim's mom and about Paul's birthday party on Sat. night..still don't know when the wake is...I'll order flowers tomorrow..

So it's bedtime for me..before you know it 4:45am will be here..

Best of today..Lydia (medicine woman) dropped off some Rheila drops (Salmiak Pastillen..says the meds are good for coughing and asthma and a good rest during the night..my sister Sharon is always coughing and they can't seem to find what the problem is so these pills are for her...I can only hope they help...Shar if it's ok I'm going to print off your stories for her..would that be ok...

Worse of the day..Kim's mom dying...

What did I learn today..that one must put gas in the car to do 100 mile trek home..lol..

Betty, of course. I hope they can be of some help/enjoyment/entertainment for her.

I really appreciate the thoughts and d mails. I worked in the yard all day today and feel much better. Amazing what sunshine and flowers can do for a soul.

The trees are all green, I have tulips , iris, muscari, all blooming, and some of my rosebushes have buds already. Oh, and yes, the azalea is blooming too, and the wisteria trees.

so all is pretty good now.

I wont try to go back and catch up....just know that you all have a place in my heart.
Hugs.

God morning everyone. I am sitting here watching the clock. I need to get up and get ready to go to see the dentist and then do some grocery shopping. When I get back home I plan to begin planting my new purchases and gifts that have shown up in the past few days. Fun, fun. I agree Sharran, outdoors is good for the soul. We just had four days of rain and it sure did help things pop out and begin to bloom.
I am thrilled with the growth of my gardens.

Not much to say. I will check back in later. Have a good day everyone.

Cross posted with Liz. Was reminded that I wanted to say something to Jeannine. I am not sure what to say that will make you feel any better but, this too shall pass. With my first son, he developed the attitude that you are speaking of. It was accompanied by a very smart mouth too. It lasted about three or so years and then he began being more of the child that I used to know. So, it really is a stage that they all have to go through.

I hope that it helps to know that you are not alone in this, but many other parents are going through the same thing. Hang in there honey.

Ruby
