Very nice, Harper.
What have you bought so far?? Pt.5
Harper thats beautiful!!! I want one!!!
Beautiful, Harper.
Well nothing is permanent like Victor said, well maybe a tree. DH is going to put in a 3 foot walkway. Until he does I will be twittling my thumbs. NOT. I think I need different shrubs on the the ends. So it will go shrub, to Emerald n Gold Euonymus, yellow & purple Dutch Iris, yellow DLand then to purple Rhodi - is middle. Once rototilled, I can then come out towards the border with some yellow and red flowers or yellow blue. Then the boreder with Blue Fecus grass. That is my 1st little vision. I have Canterbury Bells growing, by the time they mature it will be freaking December...........
Sherrie your vision sounds lovely and im sure it will be beautiful when your done. Gardening takes time...don't be so hard on yourself....we are all still learning!!!
Harper, that's the most beautiful 'cloud' of a tree that I've ever seen!
Sherrie - we New Hampshirites are made of such stern stuff. We won't get too discouraged about our garden plans.
Would be nice if they can hybridize trees that can flower for months!
looking good Victor
Thanks - probably will have to wait until next week. They will go in hanging baskets, window boxes, a couple of containers and a few in the ground.
Seneca Hill is about 10 miles from me, and I've never been. I do need to get there this year. The owner is the one that 'found' in her garden Ellen's Blue buddleia, which was named after her. They are only open a few times a year, she does mostly mailorder. Unless that has changed, I will have to check the website.
Apparently she has some quite rare plants.
Thanks for the tip, Polly--I used to love Roslyn Nursery for their rarities--almost cried when the owner retired & closed it! Those plants look super, Victor, & Jo Ann. And I loved the cherry---I do wish the trees flowered longer--only good thing about cooler temps. I'm going to try to get my tree pic on.
Can't believe it worked ----only waited 15 min. While I waited, I looked into the tree, & there was an oriole---but the colors clashed--that's OK--I'll take an oriole anytime!
I haven't bought anything yet for my own gardens. I have bought quite a few new flats for the nursery, but they don't count for this thread.
But let me tell you, I have had some fantastic trades. Lots of iris, daylilies, various perennials. Just wonderful.
I am enjoying seeing all your new purchases, and lving vicariously through them. When I find some time to go shopping, I can show and tell, too.
Oh, I did get a few new Japanese iris from Ensata. This one is my favorite, so far.

Beautiful shot, Robin.
Wow, beautiful iris, Polly!
So, wanted to share what I've bought but wasn't sure if Indiana would fit in the NorthEast. We're kinda, well, I don't know exactly where we're classified, but I have several books on NorthEast gardening so i would say NorthEast. But, before I posted my list and details, or join the thread, I wanted to get permission to participate and to confirm what part of the State Indiana is classified. No, I'm not really that dumb just confussed sometimes:).
Your permission please?
Absolutely!!
I have a saying about being northeast of somewhere - that qualifies you!
Jump right in, Lisa, no permission needed. Welcome!
Great. Well, I've been real busy in the yard and having an OCD episode on my flower beds. So much to do, and so many other priorities to ignore.
So, I've purchased the following. Long stories with some of the purchases but will spare you the lengthy details. Note: You'll discover I'm a chatter box. Sorry.

and http://www.ensata.com/Japanese/GreywoodsZebrina.JPG
And one I'm really excited about, as it is used as the pod parent for the new eye shadow iris. It looks just like a regular pseudacorus, but it's not.

Here's one of the eye shadow irises to come from Gubijin

Well, guess I did have some stuff to show off.
Hope I'm not boring you guys with my iris talk.
Great list, Ira! Have fun. Beautiful irises, Polly. That one sure does look like pseudacorus. I'm trying my first JI's myself this year.
Got my Ensata Iris order today, holy crap-o-la...again...
"Believe in the Power of Pirl" and Polly and Pixie!
I love all of you enablers!
In this order I received:
JI: 'Cascade Storm,' 'Chihayajo,' 'Dino,' 'Great White Heron,' 'Greywoods Mulberry Casc,' 'High Cascades,' 'Imperial Presence,' 'Setsu No Hama'
DL's: 'Jackie's Choice,' 'Joan Senior,' 'Magnificent Rainbow,' 'White Illusion,' and 'trahlyta'
I received JI 'First Act' as my gift from ensata gardens.
First pic is of the JI's I received.
Great plants, as usual. Have fun planting, Victor.
Thanks - next week, most likely.
I love all the JI's Polly and Thom! They're wonderful. I've been watering mine daily and I've even fed them!
What do you feed them? Sushi fertilizer?
Victor!
Azalea food.
Really? And now is the time to do it?
Yes. In spring they want all the water they can get.
"Believe in the Power of Pirl" and Polly and Pixie!
is that like the power of three from charmed?
The power of P!
Oh my...Pixie Power!! LOL Glad your order pleased you Thom!
Polly...those blues Iris's are too die for...why did you show me that?
Oh Honey......
Yes?
Good JI mother, Pirl.
I water mine daily too. Miracid one week, Miracle Gro the next. Plus I put down 10-10-10. They grow good without it, but they are really growing with it.
Thom, don't fertilize yours when you first plant them, but keep them well watered, and then when you see new growth use Miracid or Miracle Gro.
