Today's Weather in Your Garden - 17

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Patti. Not so great news on my pond. Looks like it's gone down about 1/2 inch from last evening. I'll look again tomorrow AM and decide what to do.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Pirl. There are a number of really nice streams and creeks in the area.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Patti, true about less work, but it is all backbreaking even on easy years (Get ready for complaining). I'm cheating on my vow to get other people to do the stuff that always turns me into a pretzel. Before I "discovered" ibuprofen therapy, I would be in bed for a week from today's shenanigans. Anyway, that year with the tree limb was just horrid. I promise I'll try not to complain so much in the future. Most of the things I do in the garden repay me, but I never asked for a willow tree! Especially when I looked up today and saw why there are lots of woodpeckers-some of those darn big branches are dead! Well I won't stand under it much and I'll enjoy the woodpeckers while I can!! ^_^

It is COLD and windy here in Binghamton!!!

The drive out was rainy/showery (?) with snow mixed in. It had stopped by the time we reached the University just after noon, but that wind....!

Great pics, victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Lynn. It was really windy on top of the mountain.

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

That must have been some cold front coming through. The wind is still whipping through Broome County.

Thomaston, CT

It was cloudy, cool & a few raindrops earlier, but it became sunny late--was able to go out with the 3yr old--to "birdwatch" at the feeder, & to pick my spring blooms. She was fascinated with the hyacinths, as the smell just about knocked us out! I am trying to shame her father, my DS, into putting up feeders & birdhouses for her, but I know they do get a lot of bears--however, they could take the feeders down in Spring. Have been putting cortisone on the tick bite, but it is still a huge, annoying lump! Victor--nice shots of Bear Mt. Wish I could still climb, but my hikes are now limited to flat places! And I still need the Tylenol!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Took a little walk today also... though a nursery! ☺

Nice, WC!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

WC, went into mine (local nursery) yesterday and had the same view - it was beautiful! As is yours!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

WC - beautiful! If they'd only return each year!!!

Looks nice, WC. And big.

DW has decided I deserve a gift...

Either an Acer Paladium:

Inaba Shidare
Dista Mukoyana
Dissec Red Dragon
Dissec. Crimson Queen
Bloodgood
or
Dissect Red Select

- so many choices... so hard to choose. ☺

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nice wife!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

It's one of 17 Victor, the other side hasn't opened yet! ☺

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Lovely pirl!
I havent been able to use the internet since a lightning strike yesterday left me w/o being able to use the tele!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

17 wives?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Funny! That was my first reaction, too, and I wondered if all 17 were giving him such lavish gifts. Now that would be fun.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Harem?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Who would have guessed it of WC? Victor, maybe, but not WC.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's always the quiet ones...

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

It would almost be like me imprisoning the RCMP.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Lovely photos from your hike, Victor! That shot of the neat stone coloration was very interesting!

WC - that was a beautiful shot of the colorful tulips!

Lovely daffy shot, Pirl!! I can't wait to get back and see my bulbs blooming up there!

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

You guys are just too funny!

Great photo pirl! My white daffys are in bloom right now but I realy love the yellow with orange trumpets. You've just got to love spring!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Looks like a good time WC - I always hit my head on the hanging planters it seems.

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

I talked hubby into stopping into the Lowe's up here so I could check out their indoor plants. Ended up with an Adenium, a bonsai ficus, a NOID succulent and a bag of mixed caladium bulbs. Now to find some room when we arrive home!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks Donnie ☺

As for the 17 yes... the '70's was fun, but it was hard going anywhere w/o getting "busted". ☺

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

WC...Really? Where were you in the 60's? Obviously not at Woodstock (nor was I). DH was living in Haight and I was in the Grove. Now those were the days. "Busted" was a status symbol.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Temp 44.4°, Wind NNE 9.7 mph, Windchill 28.1°

WC will never tell... ☺☺☺!

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

I think the saying is that if you can remember the 60s, you weren't really there! I wouldn't know - I was still a child! Ha, ha!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

34 and sunny - chilly!!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

40 with 12 MPH winds. The lows for tonight and tomorrow night are definitely not good news!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

it's chilly mow with sun trying. BIG Clouds comming and going. High expected in the high 40's

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Bright and sunny but cold. Only a very chilly 29 degrees, but it should warm quickly with the sun shinning so brightly. Not much wind this am. Birds are singing and Tom Turkey is still strutting his stuff. Many perennials seem to be growing inches at a time and except for a few still freezing nights it sure is a lot like spring all over the place.
