Today's Weather in Your Garden - 17

Very powerful, victor. Were you in Rockland or Westchester?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Rockland. It's the Rockland memorial that honors the county people who were victims. Of course that is a beam from the towers.

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

Where in Rockland? I went to HS in Suffern, close to the NJ border. And I figured that was a WTC beam, which is appropriate for that nice memorial. - Lynn

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

It's still hard to believe 9/11 happened and it still hurts.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Certainly does. I see people crying there quite often.

Thomaston, CT

It was lovely here today, but I was too nervous to do anything much-- my grandson was born today--8lbs10oz--but with fluid in his lungs--the doctors were debating whether to send him to UCONN medical, but at 5:30pm decided not to as he was progressing--my son is staying at the hospital tonight--no name yet--his Mom didn't get to see him until after 6pm, & she wanted to see him first--but since they didn't phone, I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congrats and good luck, Grandma Robin!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Louise. He has three hens now he is trailing around after, all fluffed up his face and waddle or what ever it is called, turn bright blue and red. They are currently roosting high up in the oak trees to one side of the house. Here's another shot of him strutting down the garden path.

Best wishes ROBINDOG. Hopefully everyone will be together soon. Post pictures.

ngam, That is one big beautiful bird. Ours are very shy. We can catch a glimpse here and there in the woods. Hunting season is under way now, so they had better hide if they plan on staying around.

Hey whats everyone doing here.?

I just put 34 degrees, where did it go? Must be in the wrong thread.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

52 now, going to 65 and tomorrow we have a 30% chance of rain but a 50% chance of rain for Sunday. It will be most welcome for the gardens and for me.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hey there, Al! We're departing the Tropics next Wednesday at the crack of dawn, but we will not be coming straight home. It is just too %^&(*(&^% hot here for me now! Thankfully the mornings are still cool enough to walk. I just finished making my orange coconut cake for our neighborhood picnic tomorrow night. This is the friendliest bunch of nice people of all ages here. That's the part I will miss.........AND I will miss the 43 plants we put in this winter. LOL

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

OK Louise - you are stopping by here then?
Hopefully you can find that weather happiness you are looking for.LOL

That would be a short detour.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Actually, Al, I'd like to spend some time in Wisconsin.....I have only flown into Milwaukee so far. I think it would be a lovely state to check out.......but just not on this trip! LOL

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Will the real weather thread plez stand up?! ☺

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Good point, WC........gulp! You mean this isn't the Travel Channel thread???? LOL

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

50's nights and mid-70's days. We are putting out the warm season veggies on the heels of the cool ones. We thinned chard, kale, beet greens, collards and two types mustards for a sautee of mixed greens last night. We will have baby bibbs, beet greens and arugula tonight. So exciting to step back and watch it all happen!

We have not had rain in ten days. Our best chance is 50% tonight. Thank goodness for a spring that never runs dry even though I've manged to run the cistern dry a bunch :). Then DH has to crawl around under the house to change filters. We are in year three of a severe drought. There are bans on outdoor watering with public water throughout the state.

The iris don't seem to mind the drought...

We have not had rain in many days or weeks either Laurel, your bulbs look lovely! Mine have sprouted all over the place, love this time of the year! Clemen
