Welcome, Ursula.
DG Names.....What's your real name??
Hi all!
Plantedz=Zella.
I'm new as a subscriber, not new to dg and 8+ years of gardening experience - still learning, as you know there is much to learn. My thanks to all of you - my learning will be continuous. :)
Welcome, Zella. We're all here to learn and to help each other. Enjoy!
Hi Zella, Welcome!! Aren't we all still learning?? LOL
Hi everyone~ I'm new here, my name is Sharon, and I live in LaFayette, NY, which is just south of Syracuse!
I love, love, love this site!!
Hi Sharon, Welcome! DG is the best place to get info on plants, tree, bush, ect.. and the members here are some of the best people you'll ever meet!!!
Welcome to all the newcomers! I will need to refer to the list of names unless you all sign your posts occasionally! I like it here, too. - Lynn
Welcome Sharon, Zella and Ursula!
Tom and Lynn, thank you for the tips! Clemen
If you'd like any more info about the area, Clemen, Dmail me. I lived in the city of Po'k for a couple of years and worked in different area of the town. I'm sure there are others with tips as well. You might want to check out the local newspaper:
poughkeepsiejournal.com and click on Education and then Local Colleges.

Zella, how do you pronounce that? Like the Z in zoo? (I've learned to pronounce too many foreign languages -- Z is always different!) HHello everyone! carrielamont is my alias, my real name is Carrie Lamont!! Ha ha ha. The xxxs are blowing kisses! Blowing, not french, cheek, hugs, or any other kind of affection, just blowing kisses. (Wives may stand down now.)

Welcome Sharon and Zella. Yeah! another Jersey girl, welcome Ursula.
Welcome All. Just FYI, Ursula is the most amazing orchidist!
Hi, don't post very often, even though I do visit regularly and I've come to this thread late, but I'm Candy (short for Candis) and I live in Poughkeepsie, NY. Guess I'm not much of a mystery.
WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW MEMBERS OF THE nORTHEAST fORUM!
CAROL
Hey- Happy Spring to Everybody! Just checking in to the Forum and wanted to say Hello! Also, to represent Maine.
I don't really have the creative names that most people do. I signed up long before I subscribed and just kept my name Cyndie Hook.
Funny year-Snow on one side of the yard and Daffodils ready to bloom on the other.
Hope everyone's gardens are great this year. With the price of food these days, I am growing more veggies. If anyone wants to try something particular, let me know. I would be happy to share.
Hi Candy and Cyndie. So nice to meet you. This forum is growing like kudzu on an outhouse! Ain't that grand!
Laurel
Welcome again to the latest to chime in! Candy, you're not too far from me. I'm in Hopewell Jct. - Lynn
Welcome, Sharon and anyone I missed.
Ok......let's see if I can remember to welcome everyone.....Ursula, Candy, Sharon, Zella, Cyndie.....I look forward to hearing a lot from each of you! We hope you join in the rambling here often! We're a pretty stream-of-consciousness, inclusive group here......things just go where they go and we all have fun with that. If you don't like rigidity, you're in the right place! LOL
Louise
Let's see everyone on the other threads!!
Hi all, I'm Becky . AKA mattsmom
Well, looks like we have a lot of new friends here in NE!!!
Isn't this just the greatest place in the world?
hello Becky!
Hi Becky. How's Matt?
Hiya, Becky!
Hi Everyone, I've never been to NE gardening forum before, since I'm from WI. Sure do appreciate the warm welcome.
Matt is my (soon to be) 24 year old son. He is handicapped, still lives with us. I'll always be mattsmom. Thanks,
Becky
Poor Eleanor. Didn't know what you were getting yourself into. Well, I for one continue to be grateful for "THE LIST".
Welcome Becky and Zella...so sorry I left you out.
Laurel
We already have Al (bigcityal) here so we need more good WI people! Regards to Matt.
Hi Becky! My older son just turned 24 last week and still lives at home, too. Big baby, but I love him to pieces! - Lynn
Hi, mattsmom!
Hi to all new people I've missed, too.
By now, Eleanor has probably had to hire a part time DG assistant to help her with this ever expanding cast of characters !
Welcome to everyone and I just hope I don't leave anyone out!!! Eleanor
True. I think this thread should be 'un-stickied' and the list be made into a one-post sticky thread that Eleanor can edit.
Thanks everyone for the hello.. And for some, Hello again. I don't get to post as often as I would like.
New England is a great place to be and each of you ( no matter where you live, LOL) proves that.
Candyce- Do they still have folk concerts in the Nelson Town Hall? I used to go when I lived in Peterborough. ;)
Hi Everyone, and thanks for the warm welcome! What a great place this is! I refer to one of my favorite nurseries as "my church"; as it's beautiful, peaceful, calm, and as far as I'm concerned, as close to heaven as I can get at the present time. Now I have another "church" in DG!
Hi Mattsmom- I'm "Davidsmom"--my son turned 24 on 4/5, and he lives w/us, he's quadriplegic & amputated--a motocross accidnt that happened 3 days after his 20th bday. Seems we have more in common than the love of gardening/growing!
...Sharon
Sharon, We do have much in common, my Matt is also a quadriplegic. My Matt was diagnosed at 7 months of age. Gardening is my therapy, even the heavy dirty work. I love every minute. God Bless,
Becky
Sharon and Becky - you two certainly have your hands full. You will find lots of support, gardening and emotional, at the Northeast Forum. Yes, Gardening is a wonderful therapy. It can help you forget your other cares for a while tending to the needs and creating in the garden. Take care and glad you have joined us. Sharon - I grew up on a farm in Camillus and moved to Glens Falls in 1971 for my first and only teaching job. Most of my family is still in the Syracuse area. Eleanor
