Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - It's spring!

Maypop funny I have a purple bowling ball coming! It will be here Saturday.

Maypop:

Welcome to our family! The last time we had snow here was on Sunday.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

We're all done here in MA (knock on wood!). I'm uncovering the perennials and turning over the veggie garden.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I just went and knocked on the woodpile for you, too.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Hey!
Did you guys see this thread?
Maybe some of us can help out here?

Welcome MaypopLaurel from me and the cats.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

I haven't moved my snow shovel up to the attic yet.
I'm always afraid I'll jinx myself.
It will stay behind my front door until the last week in April... just in case.

Nancy ---- tired of being cold!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

There's a co-op going on for marking pens ($2.04 each) that Tony Avent of hosta fame even uses, meaning they're reliable and won't fade. It's great for tags (also on another co-op and so cheap) or for garden gifts for others.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hahpeh, dahlin', (Harper, darling...for all you NE'ers) If we ever met face to face and had even a part of a conversation, we would both laugh.

Might be fun!

But about Victor's nostril.....

A Yankee Cat, I have my Jazz almost talked into joining your Manly Cat Club....he is thinking about it.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

He should do it - it is really fun! When he joins, send me his picture and I will send an o'fishal membership certificate for him! There is also a purrsonals thread now for cats looking for friends or? LOL! Wallingford keeps me really busy as his purrsonal assistant. But watch out - summer is coming and plants take first place in my schedule!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Mine, too....we'll see what Jazz decides.
Daisy is non to happy about it all, so I'll have to find a place for her, too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Is that a good price for the pens, Pirl?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, Victor, but if you ordered them direct they're only around $2.50. They're not the paint pens I've used before but just on the word of Tony Avent I ordered 14 of them.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I want to acknowledge all the attention and welcomes. Move on to other topics if you must or let me know if you need an address to ship the fruit basket and restaurant discount coupons.

Dave we cross posted, but I promise never to cross you again. Thanks.

Schickenlady, I have two balls (hush Victor; I'm on to you), each belonging to my deceased inlaws who both had very perverse senses of humor. I'm making memorial balls and leaving the engraved names exposed (LOL). I'll have more on that later as this ball project is requiring lots of good colored glass (read wine and premium vodka). If anyone knows anything I can drink that comes in red...let me know ASAP.

Candyce, the first time I ever saw snow, I was a near adult visiting NYC. How stupid did I look scraping it off the sidewalk and eating it? BTW I can send them rutabaga and turnips. Rutabaga are Fall only because of our short Springs.

Sharran, old time Atlantans have that lovely drawl, but Notch Gaga...well that's where we grow Arsh (Irish) tatas, collerts and put the rest up (can). We do actually have a Plotthound, Pepper, and a Lavatory retriever, Budwinkle, a chicken house Shepherd (one leg shot off), Pogo and, according to our country vet, an Ingles I named Goober. You may know the other breeds, but Ingles is the name of the grocery stores up there. Where every kid takes their Spring box of puppies to sell. This one got dumped, like the others at our place.

Yank, we also have two cats that came to visit and didn't get the hint when we started yawning. I was so hoping to have white carpets and furniture someday. Perhaps a really tiny Rembrandt etching. I've traded that all in for hairballs and clawed furniture. Those two would be Romeow and Purrl.

Gabagoo, what exactly is a snow shovel? Why would you want to shovel snow? We get major snow in Cleveland, GA...why I've seen 4" at a time and we don't shovel. Is this an excuse not do housework?

Victor, I hope your sinuses are on the mend. What would Spring be without a smeller? We have just met, but I want to stand by you regarding Schikenlady's comment on your nostrils. Schickenlady!!! Size does not count. Well...when it comes to nostrils (ROFL).

I better be out of here.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Laurel, YOU BELONG HERE!!

Victor's nostrils were once featured in National Geographic. Watch out for the stalagmites.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

But all anyone has seen of him is one foot.
(Well, a shoe.)
(bless you)
Actually a picture of a reflection of his shoe - which i presume was on his foot at the time.
But then, i've been told i presume too much.
Better than assume, cause we all know what that makes...

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

You obviously missed the spelunking article in NG

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You do indeed seem like a hardy one, Laurel. You should fit right in. On your balls, everything goes red after I've been drinking. Sinus infection is on the mend, thanks. I have normal sized nostrils, thankfully.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Victor, you spoiled the intrigue!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If you're referring to me, Amy, various parts of me have been posted on DG.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Quoting:
On your balls, everything goes red after I've been drinking.

Firsthand knowledge?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Both hands, if you must know.

Fairmont, WV(Zone 6a)

*sticking fingers in ears* LA LA LA I'm not listening

Laurel - Welcome! I for one didn't even need any parentheticals or translations in your Jawja drawl, honey! I am also a multiple personality - half southerner who reverts to saying "y'all" quite naturally during the winter in my Fla. home town, but half New Englander who can also say "and whatnot" without smirking these days......love both places, and really enjoy the difference in dialects and slang expressions.....djagetthat? You will fit right in here, I swear! ^_^

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Good for you, Pam.....take the high road!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Louise, I expect you to go in and out of both when we meet!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

What's it worth to you, Victor???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll emphasize my NY accent even more!

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Amythystsm, I'm so flattered to be your kind of girl, but won't we need to relocate to Northampton? Hope you know something about snow shovels. BTW, please mail some great Italian food. I can't get to Miami until summer.

I can already see ya'll are unfairly dumping on Victor. PTL, I have arrived in time to save you, Victor. I'm here for you hun. BTW, where can I go to see your parts I just recycled twenty years of National Geographics. Perhaps your parts looked better prior to '88.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I can do that too.......relatives on Longgggg Oiland.....When I cross the Throgneck, I lapse into that dialect as well..........I lapsed into LawyerSpeak today when an a/c serviceman tried to push a vague guarantee on us. It was pretty embarrassing actually.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Didn't all of ours?? Thanks for watching my back!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Now there's an opening....but I won't go there.......I'm in my prim and proper southern girl mode.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I remember a joke about lawyerspeak for 'trust me.'

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Guys you are so funny! i am glad I am in your forum, Cemen

Fairmont, WV(Zone 6a)

Well...I probably won't be on the high road for too long...gotta warn ya...

I'm eastern Massachusetts born and bred, but unfortunately I've moved around so much I lost most of my native accent. Darn, I knew I had it around here somewhere, now where did it go...

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

probably quite accurate for some! But certainly not for all!! ......trust me!! LOL

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i turned 17 in 1988, so i think my parts were illegal (whether or not they looked better).
Northampton? i thought maybe Eugene, Oregon...
; )
i drive to Northampton for concerts multiple times a year...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

17 is legal in NY.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hey there, Cemen.....welcome to our party! This almost feels like a Saturday night on DG when we are trying to break the record! I noticed that while some of us were down and out with the flu, the forum started its slide into second place.......I can see we are all pretty much back in chatter mode!! Look out!!
