Mine was a little mangled (same story as many others ;o) But I shook it out into a planting hole under a hosta. We'll see how it does. I also bought a 2-pound container of Dynamite last week, to add to several of my ornamentals. Thanks for the free offer!!!
Free samples of Dynamite Plant Food for DG members :)
So did I--Terry!
See! Even mangled fee samples have an effect on us gardeners.
I had just bought a big container of Osmacote at HD--but took it back and purchases a 2lb. container of Dynamite--based on all the discussion here on DG! Seems to be the better product--and feeds over twice as long as Osmacote......
I, like many others, do not remember requesting a free sample--but then I don't know what I had for breakfast some days.....Maybe it was all just as trivial as clicking on a link--or something.....I'm always open for FREE of anything.
Gita
I bought two 2lb containers of Dynamite at Home Depot. Had to reach for it on my tip toes. They almost put it out of my reach but I was determined buy it!
Oh, then you needed me to be wandering by...I'm always one to get stuff down for folks...lol
My sample arrived last Thursday. Envelope was slightly damaged but my sample pack of fertilizer was in great condition. Plan to use in the morning.
Thank you Dynamite Team for sending out samples!
Dollie
My mom received hers. They were loose in the envelope, but all there. :)
It looks like I got in late! They are no longer offering free samples! I am disappointed! Please let us know how well it works, so we can think of buying some online and paying shipping fees. Maybe it will be worth it. Does anyone out there have any feedback on this product yet?
Thanks!
Evelyn
Hello, Dave!
Well, it looks like I "missed the boat"! I clicked on the link and it said that they were out of free samples.
Thanks anyway!
Evelyn
i can't remember where i used my sample so i will be useless, as usual.
Evelyn, you might check around some local nurseries if you don't want to pay shipping, I've seen it at a few around here so maybe it would be in your area too. I used it on some of my containers and it seems to work fine, not sure if it's better than other products or not. But I'm one of those people who always forgets to fertilize my containers so this one is great for me because it lasts 9 months. Even I can remember to fertilize once during the year! LOL
I buy mine at Home Depot. I was told 2 years ago by a well known begonia hybridzer that Dynamite was his favorite extended release because it was not heat activated to release like others were. I will say his begonias were incredible! I use it but I use so many other things too it is hard for me to evaluate any 1 product.
I never received mine.
I used mine on a miniature rose that has been struggling along for about 5 years now. I can't say it is a miricle but the plant has leafed out better this year and actually has a couple of buds that should open soon. So I think I am going to buy some and see what happens to my other potted plants.
Thank you, ecrane and kell. I will check at Home Depot when I go there next.
I never received mine either.
There were some problems with the samples--a lot of them got crushed and damaged in the mail so for anyone who hasn't received theirs it could be your envelope got damaged worse than others and wasn't able to be delivered to you.
The response was quite overwhelming, almost a thousand people requested a sample, and actually only one person was responsible for the mailing out of the packets. That was Ted, our sales guy, and he enlisted the help of his wife and children and they worked on the weekends to mail them out.
He has since declared that he won't do that again. :) Some must have surely fallen through the cracks but I think Ted did a heroic job all things considered. Next time, though, we'll have the company do the packing and mailing.
Dave
It ws a nice and generous effort any way, hope it helped their sales. I got mine with no problem.
Poor Ted! I imagine if he tried to volunteer for anything like that again his family would have him committed!
LOL
Poor Ted! I imagine if he tried to volunteer for anything like that again his family would have him committed!
Or worse! ^_^ I'm confident that Ted won't do this again, and I don't blame him. It was definitely a worthwhile effort, though, as Dynamite was happy and most of the members here did get their sample. Next time it'll be different, though.
We are currently in talks with another great company to offer free samples (it's a magazine this time, and I won't say which one but it's one of the finest out there). That company will do the mailing, though.
Dave
Heehee, thank you Ted, wife & kids ... hope the rest of your summer is bloomin' fantastic!
Oooh...can't wait to see what magazine it is! Of course since I already subscribe to almost every gardening magazine in the world I probably already get it! LOL
Are the talks done yet, Dave? Huh? Are they?
Ted -- I can't imagine trying to get all of those samples in the mail. Hats off to you and your family!
I declare, and I was about to take this thread off my Watch List, then Dave goes and dangles a carrot in front of me!!
Sigh...(happily!). Will be waiting to see the magazine sample results!
Shoe ô¿ô
And yes, Ted and Family, ya done gooood! Thanks!
Same here never made it here, but was thrilled that DG just got the chance to be a part of something like this. Maybe the next sample will make it - but will sign up all the same!
Well I have to say, I got my sample, used it one island bed and didn't it the island bed on the opposite side of my drive. What a difference it made. I had some of the plants, like Phlox 'David' for example, in both beds. The one where I used the sample of Dynamite made those plants explode into growth. (pun intended, "giggle")
lol, Cordeledawg, I think you just wrote their next commercial :-)
omigosh, seriously? dang, i wish i could remember where i put mine.
everything in my garden is doing so good this year, but i'm also using the messenger stuff. it's tough to segregate for these things, i suppose, unless you do multi-year trials AND have record-keeping skills.
LOL, yep. Where I used It was an obvious improvement over that mirrored bed that didn't get any of it.
So dawg ... did the mirrored bed get another fertilizer or no fertilizer at all?
I went to HD and bought 3 containers of Dynamite in May when I saw how well it worked. I've used in all my beds. I wish HD sold it in bigger containers than just the Pringle chip sized container though.
ooooo...a magazine sample you say...magazines CAN be shipped north of the border so maybe I'll get to check this new one out.
I never got mine.
Maggie
I'd forgotten about this. Maybe because I didn't receive any either.
Well, since I did not get the Dynamite sample, may I be on the list for the magazine? Is it a new magazine, or one that is already in publication?
I did, however, buy some Dynamite at Home Depot, though I have not used it yet.
I did too--and have used up about 2 of those red 'cans" of it.
See? The free sample worked! Besides, I read some good things about it. Must have worked! My garden tripled in size in the 3 weeks I was gone!
Gita
Didn't get mine either but completely understand...so are ya'll saying Lowes and HD carry it?
Chantell,
I can tell you HD carries both varieties of Dynamite fertilizer. I imagine Lowes would too.
I went through almost 2 bottles/jars of it this spring. It feeds for 9 months! maybe that is why everything grew triple their size while i was away.
