got those notes. that first part was trying to make the copyright sign. but how do you hit 0174 with the alt. key? i see i did it a time or two.

As long as she is using a latin based font without wingdings it should work. Are you holding the alt key down and not letting up at all while you press the other 4 numbers on the keypad?
I dunno then, it worked for me? Make sure you Num Lock is on and use the number keypad on the right side of your computer. Thats all I got, lol.

if you ever get to meet bronc and his wife it will be a treat. we had a real good time and stayed until around 9pm. it was so much fun to sit around and talk and laugh and begin to get to know everyone. usually at swaps that's all we have time to do but this one was different.

All the newbie boxies that went out in this last batch had a gallon bag of plants that are hardy outside things and I have no idea what they are, they look a little ruff cuz they were just dug and not up enough for me to ID them but if any one wants to send picts to my email, growit7@windstream.net I will ID all I can. Gotta thank you for mentioning the classified ads too. I have a box of Daylillies coming from bluegrassmom... Teresa ... thats where I found and met her and should get them today..sooo I am excited to see what I get!! They were only ONE $ each!!!?????? Heck thats the same price for walmarts dried up DLS.. and I mean dried up !! ( I already bought some this year)... She also gave me a GOOD frilly I call it for a dirt cheap price !!!!!!!! opps.. maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that.. but I bet she is like that with everyone.. She is soo nice.

Hi everyone, being somewhat new, I want to introduce myself & to tell ya this conversation I've been eavesdropping on has been so much fun to read! Such an interesting group hanging out around here.
I moved last fall to a cleared out spot in the woods. I have some bushes and a few perennials that made it over the winter & are doing well. I need everything it seems & trading is my best option to try new plants. Thanks for all the tips about trading, it doesn't seem quite as intimidating as it did before I found this thread. 'Course I haven't started yet. :) I look forward to sharing & learning about plants, trading & all of ya'll here!

welcome davis. you will be surprised how fast your garden will grow now that you have found dave's place . still can't believe 'ol dave thought something like this up.
what kind of plants are your passion "right now"? lol. that's what we all say. because in a few months that's apt to change and certainly by next season you'll be just having to have a new thing in order to continue breathing. this was my year for mums and crocosmia. always lilies and daylilies and lycoris. iris too. and now it's species glads.

Thanks beck, I agree this place is cool. Nice to be welcomed here. Mama, you are right about the "latest passion" thing. If I wasn't so curious & never saw anything else, I'd be all right. But like the rest of us, I love to grow things & I love to be outside piddlin'. Right now I'm trying to figure out if I could grow some brugs & then overwinter them. They are so pretty. Otherwise, I love colorful blooms! But all flowers & plants make me smile. Guess I'm at the right place, huh?
In your area I would bring the brugs inside for the winter. Some people have had luck with cutting them to the ground and then mulching them real good. But, heck why do that when you can bring them inside and still enjoy them, they seem to still want to bloom way into the winter in the house, in a sunny location.

I just saw my first brug today. It was a varigated one. And it wasn't in bloom and I thought it was just beautiful. No wonder why you guys collect them! It was a 2 gal pot with a $25.00 tag. I wasn't sure if that was good or not. Thought I'd hold off on that for a bit. But I know where it is when I want it :-) Hmmmm.... Isn't Mother's day around the corner???
If it's named that is a very good buy. Check and see, but what the heck Mothers Day only comes once a year. You'll love it when it blooms and then you will be addicted.

Brugs.... my latest LOVE !! Oh they are sooo pretty. I am just starting out, but hope to be able to put them in the ground here. I sure would hate to lose one though, and I see that they will bloom in the winter if indoors... that would be nice, but I have noooo more room. Instead of a brug for Mothers Day... I need a green house... I am sure DH will be delighted to get me one...LOL

now i'm going to tell yall something about those brugs. 'ol rjuddhuddleston of WAITIN' ON MAMAJACK fame on the tx. gardening forum does 'em this way......course he lives in houston but when he gets ready for a new brug to Y, he tops the plant. and guess what......it y's and then it blooms. and if you just want to take cuttings of your brugs...they will live in a glass of water all winter on your kitchen window sill. now i just heard him talking about it and don't claim to know very much but i know i've heard about people "waiting on the brug to Y" and 'ol rj found a way to make them Y on his own. lol.
