Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - Spring Ahead!

LOL an idea, to be sure, but if she couldn't find it then it rains and I have to live with her . . . . ♫ ♫ ♫ not worth it. xx, Carrie

Victor - his sister is 7 and a Girl Scout. When she grows up your sons may be more interested than you.

My 16.5 year old granddaughter is a great help in the garden but not in March.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm not much of a help in the garden in March!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I still can't even walk on my soggy clay lawn.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Parts of my garden are still very muddy as well.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

It's sandy here so it's very hard on the surface (top 6"). I planted a couple of rose bushes Friday and when I broke thru the surface the bottom 12" had warm water vapor billowing out, so it's warm underneath... enough for the roots. But the winds keep the temp down under 30° at night, last night I had a windchill of 19°.☺

Geothermal potential?

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Hmmm... interesting. Actually the County offices of Brookhaven use a wind generator about 40' high with 20' blades, next time I go there I'll take a pic. You can always count on the wind here! ☺

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

Ok...not to totally derail this current thread...I was at work last night, looking through some gardening catalogs, and low and behold...I figured out why Ensata Gardens, is called, Ensata Gardens. I had no idea, that ensata is a species of Iris. D'oh!
I just thought it was someone with a semi peculiar last name...lol.

Sometimes the light bulb comes on ....

LOL!!!!!
(Don't feel bad. I've done that LOTS of times!)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Funny, Thom!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I filled 50 eggs last night with earrings, mini puzzles, bracelets, candy, money, and little pocket-pal type dolls. One of them was a Pixie...hope I didn't give myself away! LOL
I have come to realize that even though I want a grandson, Grandaughters are really easy to buy for!

Kids are easy to take care of. I got sick of all the fur

Oh Sherrie, that puppy is cute! What kind? How old? I just want to hug em!!!

She is a Keeshond and is 8 years old and a professional theif of food on the counters.
Her name is Roxie but her nick name is RUBBER NECK. Candyce had a dog like this.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Where is her sweater? It is still cold outside, Mom!

Greensboro, AL

Wouldn't she be embarrassed with no fur?

She goes out and literally rolls in the mud, not feeling how cold it is nor did she get wet to her skin. I got her clipped early this year. I normally have it done in June. She got a spring cut not as short as she would in June. Bet she wont go roll in the mud now!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Bet she will!

She might get whooped. Rolls in the mud, comes in jumps on the couch.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Some governors would find that very appealing...

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Victor!!!

I really had high hopes for you since you've behaved for so long.

Hey Pirl. If a Govenor would like a muddy dog on couch - let them have it.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I did have a Kees. His name was Simon. Simon liked to stay indoors so that he could 'surf' the kitchen counters. We used to laugh that he could hear a Cheerio drop on the floor from three rooms away.

Here's a photo of him from five years ago, about a week before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Simon was a sweetie and so is his girlfriend.

ohhh sweet both of them. This is my 3rd Keeshond. Rocky (lost dog but I got him) 2 years I gave him insulin. Then Fritz - had a large heart and had to be put down. Now Rox. They are all Keeshonds with good training but THEIFS and phanatics (sp). With the 1st - 2 KEESHONDS - I bought 2 big spathaphylums (sp) at least in a 2 gallon container, a good 3 feet in circumfrence. A big living room 40 feet long by? to boot. Left home came back and could not see the living room floor.

You want to call going green = THAT, was green! On the rug, chairs in the kithchen and going up the stairs to the second floor. I will never forget it.
