Anyone see that taco bell commercial w/the cheesy whatever it is they make? it's such a nasty commercial w/cheese string hanging out of everyone's mouth.

OK here's a joke. (DH got in his email.)
INSTALLING A HUSBAND
>>
>> Dear Tech support,
>>
>> Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a
>> distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in
>> the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under
>> Boyfriend 5.0.
>>
>> In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs,
>> such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed
>> undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.
>>
>> Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply
>> crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these
>> problems, but to no avail.
>>
>> What can I do?
>>
>> Signed,
>>
>> Desperate.
>>
>>
>>
>> DEAR DESPERATE,
>>
>> First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
>> Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
>>
>> Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download
>>
>> Tears6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that
>> application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically
>> run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
>>
>> But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0
>> to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please
>> note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the
>> Snoring Loudly Beta.
>>
>> Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus
>> in the background that will eventually seize control of all your
>> system resources.)
>>
>> Also do not attempt to reinstall Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are
>> unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
>>
>> In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited
>> memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.. You might consider
>> buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We
>> recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
>>
>> Good Luck,

Victor, Amy - the Harry Potter books are a great read! They are really well written. You will enjoy them.
Carrie-that is great, I love it!!!!
i've loved the 1st 6, i just haven't gotten around to the last one.
They are such a pain to carry around.
Carrie, that is priceless! Something that any man would understand!
I only read one HP book, and didn't like it. I thought the characters were whiney and predictable. The imagination and creativity in the setting and props are spectacular though. I love her creative names for magical things.
'Whiney and predictable' is how I always found the characters on Seinfeld!
... I find the same characters on DG. ☺
Ouch!
Me, too, WC!!!!
I think a substantial "whiney and predictable" component is probably part of the social dynamics of every crowd.
♫ ♪♫ ♫ ♫ ♪ ♪ ♪♫ ♪♫ ♪♫ ♪ ......
.... humming the glorious 'single life' tune ...
Gloria - yes, unfortunately.
"I sing the body electric. . . " etc. I like your tune, Candyce! xx, Carrie
i like the version in Fame...
Is that the one I have in my head? x, me
I'm laughing so hard!
There is also a Ray Bradbury short story called "I Sing the Body Electric," which was made into a not-very-good Twilight Zone, and in my childhood into (i think) an Afterschool Special with Maureen Stapleton.
But the story is better than any adaptation.
(Of course, so is the Whitman.)
It felt so good to be out in the garden cutting back and picking up stray leaves today! A few hours of pure heaven.
Can't wait to do it myself next week!
I saw a little grass this afternoon!
More to come, debilu! When I snipped way down on the Japanese irises I could see some tips - pure joy. The daffodils are about 4 to 5" all over the garden.
My biggest thrill was hiring a local 17 year old neighbor to help me with things my arm won't allow me to do.
I'm so glad to hear you are all beginning to be able to get outside!! I don't feel quite so guilty when I hear Pirl speak of her heavenly hours!! We went to a Red Sox game today and the rain poured on us. LOL I can't tell you how much it has helped my spirits to be back outside getting my hands dirty after my protracted flu saga. The weeds down here can really take over in 3 weeks time!!! We have been so busy making up for lost time this week, so I am looking forward to getting back in my gardens in earnest next week. Happy early Spring days outside, everyone!!
DonnieBrook, Did the Sox win? My BIL was going today too. He won't care as he a fanatical fly fisherman and is always out in the bad weather, but I don't think my neice would have loved it! Glad you are finally well. It has been too long. When do you head north?
Pirl! Watch it with that 17 year old!
Donnie, I deeply miss the days when it always rained on Red Sox fans.
Dave - I think I'm finally past that stage. ("think")
Louise, please check on a Bill Buckner Sox jersey for me - can never seem to find one.
It's SNOWING! xx, Carrie
We have sunshine and 39 but they did mention the possibility of light snow in the morning.
So, Arlene, what else won't your arm allow you to do? I thought you were the boss!
My 28 Le Creuset pots may not be used much anymore!
Amy, my dd wanted to go to the high school play of Beauty and the Beast, so we went last night.
They rented the costumes, which were dazzling, and the performance was excellent! I wasn't expecting much for a H.S. play, but was pleasantly surprised.
Patti - yes, the Sox won against Baltimore, and as always the Spring Training setting is so nice and such wholesome fun with all the little kids with their baseball caps on and their jerseys that are way too big for them. Daisuke pitched and the starting lineup played most of the game. Manny being Manny hit a home run and didn't move in the outfield unless he absolutely had to. LOL
Victor - that's the ultimate Mets Fan request!! By the way, have the Mets decided to buy the entire Dominican Republic yet? I hear the FBI is sending your former Governor to check on the salary cap.....LOL
Ha ha. The Dodgers have had a jump on the Mets for years in that respect. And we're stuck with our client for two more days.
hey all you Northeasterners.
Its 86 degrees F in Alabama today. I have the air conditioner on.
Its too hot to go out side. I watered my vegetables this morning. Even now they look heat stressed.
YUK.
Global Warming is starting early this year.
Wow - that's warm, Gloria. Global Warming took a hiatus this winter. One of the coolest in a while.
According to Permaculturists the environmental damage that has occurred results in extreme weather - not just global warming.
The big trees were the lungs of the earth. The big trees modulated global climate.
It was cold in Alabama this winter. Not colder than usual, but cold for longer than usual. Not comfortable for a heating system not designed for cold.
