Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - Spring Ahead!
boing.

Carrie, i know your DH works for Jet Blue. Do they by any chance fly...
Boeings?
...Boeings?
......Boeings?
Spring Ahead. Yes. This is the weekend to change the clocks. If you have any.
My baby brother works for Boeing Aircraft but he designs space shuttles, not flying airplanes.

I smile when people say we get an 'extra hour of light'.
THIS Saturday? We change this Saturday? 'm not ready.
Do you need to prepare??
Yes! I start getting up 1/2 hour early the week before so it isn't such a shock to my system. I'm gonna be grumpy come Monday morning.
It effects me weird for about a month. What's worse is the kids are going to be all screwed up.
The cats will be happy. They get fed an hour earlier!
Actually, They'll get fed an hour later.
Spring AHEAD.
There was a kid in HS who actually used the excuse that he did not do his homework because the hour he normally devotes to it was the hour that was taken away! Very creative.

I'm not ready either... maybe I can postpone it to next Saturday. ☺
I don't have my decorations up yet either.
good one Al
I guess that kid normally did his homework at 2:00 a.m.! My decorating and wrapping are done and I'm looking forward to it being light out when I get home!!
I like the clock turning getting done earlier. It will seem more like spring is really getting closer. Tomorrow the sun is going to be out so we should be able to see the lovely effects right away too. Still light out after supper, sounds a lot like spring to me. Yipee!
Good day to plant thyme.
That's one of my old ATM trivia questions - what did TYME mean? Unless you didn't have those around you - early 80's.
We had 'Mac' machines. My mom's bank had 'JiffyBank'. Never heard of TYME.
Oh no! They were the first ATM's in this area, nice indoor buildings.
Never heard of either.
Oh well - it's Take Your Money Everywhere. They had the atm monopoly for quite a few years here.
That's cute. Did they charge a fee back then? Were they really around in the early 80's?!! I don't remember that.
Fees galore in the whole banking industry back then. I remember my first checking account I had in 1983 I went overdrawn without even writing any checks.LOL But then again savings account interest was 5% also.
Even the regular accts. had fees. I seem to remember though that the atm cards didn't, I was outraged the first time they charged for not using it at one of theirs, I worked retail for years and hated using the atm card at the mall it was so expensive, one of the machines was $3!
Spring ahead day is one of my favorite days of the year. Right there with Thanksgiving, Christmas and pool closing.
Happy Spring Ahead Day Victor!!
Thanks Harper! Same to you and all.
I think we Sprung Behind. I woke up to 3 inches of snow all over my world.
Hope you're feeling better, Sharon!
Thanks, Victor. I might be back among the living.
Sure looks like I slept through a bunch of major insights in the NE forum though. Rats, I always miss the good stuff.
Y'all have rain, snow....what??
Rain, rain, rain here in Southern New England.
In 1980 I lived in Key West where they had Tilly the Teller. First ATM I met.
Victor-you really hate that pool don't ya?
Any warm summer nights to remember with Tilly Dave?
Happy Spring Ahead Day, Everyone! Today we went to Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel (Wish you had been there THIS weekend, Patti!!!) at low tide and saw some great birds! In the middle of this group of white pelicans (2nd largest flying birds in North America) you can barely see a smaller brown bird feeding. It is a rare sighting of a marbled godwit. It was extremely windy today, so I had to stay in the car to avoid a relapse of the YUK, but I got some good shots even from the car......
....and one of a Snowy Egret down in the rocks under the culvert........What a nice way to start Spring off here! ....and Red Sox games as well this week! Oh, it's so nice to be up and around again!!!! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend and springing ahead! That always feels like the beginning of Spring to me!!
Oh, I just realized by looking at the Pelican shot, that the little godwit is too small to see unless you know where to look........he's between the 5th and 6th pelicans going from left to right......He is so cool......his long bill curves up on the end......wish I could have gotten a closer shot to share!
Spring has sprung this yucky cold on me, everytime i think i am getting better, it springs up again.
Nice shots, Louise! Yes, Jen, I am not a pool lover.
