Oh but you can, Pine would need to be treated (i think) Red wood wouldn't either would cedar.
OMG can't beleive you even have redwood!! You ARE a packrat, lol didn't think they sold RW anymore.
Best/Worse and What did I learn today? Friends pt.35
BUTTT...Sorry, I have got to say...Don't not paint over Redwood...it's already beautiful...Ok backing away saying nice...just it is already pretty don't know why anyone would want to cover it up. Lip hanging out if you decide to paint a picture...please please...use the pine.
lol they do it just costs a fourtune!
ok now im going to start ha ha drawing this oh this should be a riot!! but first i have to spray a bowling ball.
i'll try maby oh oh i got it! fil has stain i'll do that its not real heavy in color but it will look like its new how's that

one of the magazines i subscribe to had a lady bug made out of a bowling ball so since i have three sitting in the closet i thought i would try one lol
Evening girls, went and purchased my 'pine' 12" board so I'm going to sit now and sketch out my pieces so I can cut it up in the morning, when I'm playing with my table saw I DO try to be wide awake and functioning..lol
I'll look at the bill and see what they charged me, don't think it was very much (leaving the 10' 4x4 until it's time to put it in the ground otherwise I'd be tripping over it each and every day..bought nice deep blue paint, probably enought to do 10 but that's ok..know mom and sister and DIL would like one..so as I go along I'll post what I've accomplished...don't kill yourself to get everything together tonight..lol...let me learn the mistakes then I can lead you in the right direction..was thinking, if I could find the correct plants I'd plant it and let it grow in the house to take root...nope better not do that right???
Lesson 1 - Betty kills plants...did I ever tell you that a young woman who was thrown out of her house rented the basement here (before I purchased it) and the owner who was her friend came downstairs one morning only to find she had overdosed and had died..actually that's why she sold the house but no one told me till about a year after I moved in..feel I've been very lucky with friends/family etc. so she's watching over me, not the bad karma that's killing my poor plants..
Seed,
I labeled everything in EVERY cell pack as to what I had seeded there. Used cut-up mini blinds as my markers, They really work great--and are re-usable....Just a bit of "Goof Off" to erase the previous markings.....
NO! I do not keep track of anything. Been thinking about it, as DG offers you a way to keep track of anything. To my thinking--it would just be another thing to keep me sitting at he computer. I spend to much tome here as it is.....
A couple of things I seeded hve already sprouted. Mainly--some Cosmos and some of the Cleomes. Gotta get the lights in a hurry!!!!
I still have not bought my 3' light bulbs. Have the fixtures--but need to get the bulbs. It has been a hunt for either/or between HD and Lowes. Found the 3' Shop lights at HD, but not the bulbs. Had seen the bulbs at Lowes, but not the fixtures. Bought the fixtures at my HD, now I have to go back to Lowes to get the bulbs......Still a good amount of $$$ to put out for this "fancy".....
I almost dread all the upcoming chores when everything is sprouting!!!! I remember how much time it all took last year! Seems not worth it--except that most of the stuff I am growing from seed cannot be bought at your average plant store. Then again--I LOVE giving plants away because they are different.....Never a lack of takers at work.
THAT is what keeps me going.......
My "Winter-Sowing" has been to the extent that I have put a few seeds, that I thought needed striation, in pots and have been keeping them in my downstairs refrigerator--much tot he disdain of the serious Winter Sowers. Mostly seeds from plants that I know would have dropped them (naturally) last Fall, lived through the Winter outside and will sprout (naturally) in the Spring. Hey! Cold is cold!!!! Outside--or in my fridge!
Just playing with it anyway. I am NOT too serious about any of this stuff.....as you all know. If it works--GREAT! If it does not--NO big deal!
If I had a half acre of land and plenty of space to "play with", I might feel different about all this. I DO NOT! SO! It has become a battle of "desire" vs "reality".....NOT gonna obsess over any of it.......
Booo...Hoooo...Gita
Ok I am home...Liz, Lady bowling ball sound like a cool idea!
Betty, that does sound like a good plan. No I already have the post to go into ground so that taken care of. Glad you got pine...What are you going to seal it with?? Poly? Rummaging through my basement for some scrap pieces, hopefully I can trace out the pattern too.
LOL, I think you better wait on the planting part too...I am so excited this should be a blast to make and watch grow. Uh Can I use a nail gun probably, just sort of thinking outloud.
Hey Gita, Now mini blind tags is a wonderful idea! Last year LOL I used plastic knives. Did keep an extended journal...Well, now I think refridgeration might work, you never know unless trying. I do beleive that is how they force Spring plants too, never tried it though. Hope you are able to get those up and running so you can watch the display. Pretty neat!
Well my guys are on the way home...Lil man had 2 very tough matches. But i think he is still a winner for making it to State and he has learned some valuable lessons. Can't wait to hear his stories. Plus, mt cut man will be here too!
So, I didn't tell you what I saw the other day, A whole heard of Deer!! Crossed right in front of me, lol I got to see first hand who has been chomping my poor Arbor Vitae's and Oh man the Skunk are awake too, yuk saw my first road kill, eww not to mention smell. So Spring is really almost here!
going to search for wood now.
I can't take the sowing too serious either, I give it the college try and if it takes off I am soooo happy but if it doesn't I just have to let it go a bit after the initial sadness becaus it is a difficult place to grow here anyway. I would be crying all the time or just give up.
Dad is fine and he said that he fought it for 4 years before he had to have the operation Betty. I lied. His doc said he had a lot of scar tissue and almost couldn't do it because of that and the inflamation from all the attacks so please take care of yourself.
Did you all see the story on the news about the deers that were jogging with the joggers in Utah this week, when the joggers stopped, the deer stopped to, when they ran, the deer ran with them. I laughed outloud it was so freaking adorable. The joggers had to ditch the deer.
Gita, isn't that something, I would never have thought to put seeds in refrigerator, but you are right, it's much colder outside..
I've purchased so far about 50 pkgs. of seed..as soon as spring comes I'll get a load of topsoil, find an out of the way area and plant them all..I'll say like you Gita, if they grow-great, if they don't - oh well ...if they do take then I can transplant...
When I was at the farm you'd be amazed, about 100 ft. along the roadside was all perennials..over the years I'd just scatter envelops of seed and they'd take..the municipality had blasted rock for the road and just set it aside so I had topsoil put along the roadside to enhance their soil that they covered the rock with, loved it, until that is I found out that snakes like making their home inside the creveces of rock..I'd be working away and a snake would slither by..OMG..that was enough for me..
Using old blinds is such a good idea, just might try and identify the flowers and shrubs I have in the garden and mark them..someone told me to gather nice stones, paint the name on them and they last for years!
Now for the birdhouse..Judy I took the 8ft. x 12" width (which really is just a titch over 11" after they dress it..)length of pine and carefully marked it..not a spare inch to play with..I'm missing a piece 3" x 17" so it would not have hurt me to buy 10'...would have saved me the trouble of going in search of wood for the missing piece..am sure one of the neighbors will have it..so it's sketched and ready to cut..but not tonight...it's also easier to bevel the roof top 30 degrees when it's cut to length..I'll take close pictures for you...
Glad some enjoyed his day...storm has started in Toronto, everyone in town while I was shopping were all getting together goddies to tide them over until the bad weather leaves..I've got everything I need to entertain myself for the next 2 days..all except a 3" x 17" piece of pine..lol
Dawn, you always have such a way of making me laugh...sitting here chuckling at the mental image..
So he did have the operation...think here they make 3 small incisions and suck it out..is that not so??? hope they suck the fat at the same time...I'm so laughing..not nice is it..I did pray for dear dad though...hope it wasn't too stressful for you today...sit yourself down, put up your feet and enjoy the evening...guess it's late afternoon in your neck of the woods...
OK have something very important for you all to do..we change the clocks this weekend, please, please go out and purchase batteries for your fire alarms and do them at same time..if your alarms are over 10 years please replace them...
They were just saying on the news that 18 people (majority children) have burnt to death this past month in Ontario..showed a house on fire today and said the mother of 7 had to make a choice, pushed her children out the window while home was burning, it was either that or they'd all die..the 3 year old is critical, some have broken bones..so perhaps a prayer might help..so, a lot of times it seems like yesterday that we replaced our batteries and it's much longer...I replace mine twice a year..each time we change the clocks..becomes almost natural thing to do...better to be safe than sorry!
No Betty you are right, he had it othriscopically too, but if a person is very overweight or having an emergency surgury then they cut, here or over there in Canada too most likely.
I am glad I amuse you. I amuse myself too sometimes. If I worked all day, we would have so much fun and crack up all day long. I love that with a good group of people that you love to go to work to see them so you can laugh together.
My old job was like that until we all started getting our big lay off, one by one, the ones still there were waiting for their turn.
The only animals we see here in the wild are coyotes and rabbits and quail. So that is the road kill and hardly ever see it, usually it is a domestic pet. I saw a chihuahua on the freeway dead the other day.
I laught when I go backeast, the roadkill is sooooo different and a lot of it.
We did see a couple skunks on the side of the road alive but not in the desert, in the mountains and in Bakersfield which is a different zone all together.
I think it is neat to hear about your skunks and deer, though Liz would beg to differ, or Judy, one of them. lol alzheimers
OMG Dawn, it is so funny to see you say that! Remember, when I started within this thread?
I used to get you and Liz mixed up!! Hahaha, too cool!
Sweet D. I so, see your dilema at work, right there with it. You make me Smile and happy too, what a fun friend you are! yeah, smilin some more.
Hey, my bird is plucking at my hair....ohoh.
Well, thinking about Tropi, and Rachel and my girl Gilli!! Waving Hello, hope to see you soon.
Shar..trying to keep it short, huggs for feeling better.
Good Night Betty, Ruby, everyone falling asleep.
See you on the Morrow...Hi Starz!
Betty and anyone else,
Here is how functional cut-up mini-blinds can be as plant markers.
These are short, as they are all stuck into cell-packs, You can cut them up any length you want.....Easy to write on with a thin-pointed, permanent marker. Buy ONE mini blind--and you are set for many seasons....
Gita
Helllloooooooo!
I am finally able to sit! I left work at 2:00 today (planned to "work from home"). It was pouring when I left but I wanted to go to Lowes and get the paint for DD's bathroom. We're going to paint the walls a pale limey mint green and then have brown and periwinkle stripes on the walls. I think it will look really good with the new fabric for the shower curtain and window. Also bought the 4 - 2x10x12 treated pieces of lumber for my new tomato bed. They were fun getting into the truck!! Also bout more fencing for around my flowerbeds and I thought I grabbed 6 sets of them - told the cashier I had six and I get home and I have 7! I was like shoot! I will go back tomorrow and pay for the 7th one. My DH said (as a compliment) "well that is very honest" and I told him I wouldn't do it any other way. I couldn't sleep at night knowing I have knowingly kept one without paying. Anyway, I'm sure I can put the 7th one to good use!
I just finished my last quilt top for the "season". I can't wait to see this one all done up. I just love these colors!!
OK - off to watch the tube for a bit then bed! I'll chat w/ y'all tomorrow!
Hugs to all!
Jeannine
PS - DH is standing on a kitchen chair - he's not that tall!
Jeaninne, that sounds so nice, it will look nice. I am laughing at myself again because I thought the pix was your man holding your quilted shower curtain for your bathroom. Not a bad idea though, with a liner behind it and not backed.
Hello Dear Friends - It is the weekend. Yippie!!!! Day to spend as we would like, for most of us anyway. Not sure what I will get in to this very rainy day. Sorting through papers is one things that needs my attention today. I have already found two car title's in the past 24 hours. That is good news because one of the cars we have for sale as we speak.
John is in the kitchen painting the bathroom mirrors. Yippie!!! It is always exciting to get him to do inside things. ha-ha Poor guy, I wouldn't take a million dollars for him. This is my last thread to read of the ones that were awaiting me this AM. After this I will get up and try to be productive. i will check in and out as the day goes by.
Here is wishing everyone a great day!!!
Ruby
Good morning all..
Looking out the window, called for major storm..no snow as yet, better not get too cocky because it could yet fall...
Moving around this morning with a bit of a headache so had better get something for it..I'd hate to waste this beautiful day on a 'headache'
Dawn, I probably should loose a few pounds just incase it is 'gallbladder' and they have to do something..we've plenty of wild animals here, moose, deer, cayote,wolves...yesterday on the way to town the field was full of wild turkeys' ..never tasted a wild one, Suzanne said they did have a bit of a 'wild' taste to them..I'll pass but it sure is nice to see them..is that also a sign of spring, not, they've been here all winter..
Gita, can't believe how organized you are with your plants..what would you say your success rate is, does it vary from year to year depending on what you plant..my sister in law does mega sowing indoors and has great success but I must say she really spends a lot of time on it..
Jeannine, love the quilt! Can't believe your putting the sewing machine away so early..but then, you've nice days in your neck of the wood to prepare for gardening and outdoor projects..sounds as though you've been on a shopping spree as well..
Guess I'd better go have my coffee, take a pill, clean part of my craft room so I can cut some wood..looked all over for a measly piece 3"x 17" and no go..might mean an early trip to Home Depot..they open at 8..hmm just might do that..be back later...
Tell John Ruby that he's doing a good job...paperwork..read (and try to do) that as soon as you come home you go through it, flyers/adv. etc directly into the wastepaper basket, arrange a file for bills that need paying and put those in there, for papers that need to be filed, do so immediately and you'll always have them at the tip of your fingers...guess once you organize a system and then try to do it as much as possible it becomes second nature...
Now you get to decorate the newly painted washroom right with all those gift items sitting in boxes..lol
morning all,
well bad news came last night, dh's uncle john passed away, now he is at peace im so glad we went to see him and dh got to spend some time with him.
now dh is so beyond irritated, his sister called last night to say...
mom is so upset crying and such i just dont know what to do?
omg cant she go figure out to just go drive up to napa and spend some time with her mother to comfort her? our plans were to all go on sunday now she wants to tag along gosh i hope there is not a battle in the car.
vicki, now im ever so curious how was the meeting with that wonderful dinner you cooked? wow now thats different where your dh works..and how is the dog hunt going any luck.
gita, now i wish i saved the blinds, but thinking about replacing one so i will keep that in mind.
now i have a plant i.d for you when it gets daylight.
it is black and looks like a calla lily, but also looks like a picture plant.
when its cut the second day it smells horrible, very slow to multiply, it is in the first stage right now.
when its flower forms it is the most beautiful black/burgandy color, i would love to learn more about them.
jeannine, the quilt is just lovely great job, now look at dh he is such a good sport hope you have a dry weekend, looks like we might, well spring is here i see the paper wasps are buiding again so time to fight with them.
ruby, im telling you you just make me smile,
i know about collecting up until 4 years ago twice a year would be major clean ups and all of the neighborhoods were allowed to throw out 1 cubic yard of trash and what not, my girlfriend and i would have a ball driving around it actually was alot of fun picking up things and the things people would throw out that were in great condition, well they stopped it i guess it was causing to much comotion.
now you call the garbage company and pick your own clean up day :( have fun with your closet.
dawn, lol oh how cute i missed that on the news i bet it was funny to see that,
hmmm i'll trade you your critters for ours lol now how far are you from bakersfield?
dont work to hard in the yard, glad your dad is doing good keep us posted.
betty, take care of yourself another cut, oh my, well we decided to wait till you do yours first please be careful cutting now it is making sence it is a bit larger that i thought now its back to pine. oh i cant wait to see it assembled wait till judy gets up she will be excited to.
shar i hope you are getting stronger every day, wont be long before your out in the garden to!
hello, gilli, laura, rachel, cat, and carol
Liz, so sorry to hear about your Uncle..hard watching them be in so much pain, his suffering is now over..omg don't tell me you must take another trip from hell??? Can't SIL take them...
Love the photo of the plant..and it's just blooming, heck, we're having yet another blizzard here..sure wish it would all leave....
Just went back to the cutting instructions for the wood and it looks nothing like I typed..all scattered together so let me try another way...
All done with 3/4" wood...
Base which you need only 1 of is 11 inches wide by 14 1/2 inches long
Base boarder which you need 2 of is 2" wide by 11 inches long
Sides which you need 2 are 6 3/4" wide by 16" long - need 2 and the top of each piece edge is cut on 30 degree angle
Roof is 9 1/8th inch wide by 17" long which you need 2 and also the top of each piece edgemust be angled on a 30 degree angle
Roof Lip gutter which you need 2 is 3" wide by 15 9/16th inches long and must be angled at a 30 degree
Roof lip which you need 34 pieces is 3" wide and 11" long
these 2 pieces are place flat and angled at 30 degree cut to form the peak look
Hope this format stays as not to be confusing...
Before I put it together I took the 2 sides and used a door hole maker and created 2 holes on each side just to add interest..
Will give this one to my mom for mother's day along with the butterflies and make myself another..I've a few ideas..I will take the 2 sides, sketch a nice design and scroll saw it out of the peace...
Also, when repairs were done to the boat my cousin Doug left a little bit of solution (much like fibreglass so I painted the roof (inside) and the feeder (inside) dries clear and that way it won't rot..once it's dry I'm going to seal the rest of it before I paint it...
Golly it was fun to do and took me 1 1/2 ..of course not counting the painting I'll do...lol..could you hear me curse..the sketch showed a 60 degree angle where the roof mounted...NOT..they are all 30 degrees and then the roof gutter was either too big or too small..I either had to cut some off or add to the length..thus it was easier cutting them at 15 9/16th inches
If anyone ends up doing it, I can answer your questions...
Still must drill some holes each end of the roof so water can escape...
Now I'm on the lookout for succulent plants i.e. cactus, hens-and-chicks, dwarf bellflower etc.
Here's the base
Betty,
This will be only my second Spring that I am attempting to grow things from seed--and i do it reluctantly--as it can be very time-consuming. Things germinate at different times. The ones that do--need to go under lights. The ones that haven't--need to stay in trays with "domes" for humidity. Spray....water......fertilize.....Look for fungus.....Transplant.....It is like taking care of young kids! Never a moment of rest!
SO--I cannot really comment on success rate. I do know that EVERY seed of the yellow Datura germinated last year and I was stuck with about 35 plants! Man! I gave them away left and right....Went through a lot of 4" pots! The Purple ones were not so giving....
By now, I have invested almost $100 in my seed set-up. My heart is not in all this 100%, as I will be away for 3 weeks end of June-mid. July. Even though my daughter will come and water--she knows nothing else about Gardening.....I will be grateful for the watering, if nothing else!
Looking at all your wood crafts--do you remember the sitting "Wood Man" I D-mailed you pictures of? Will you ever consider making him? If all this has been lost for you in "Cyberspace"--I will be glad to re-send the pictures to you (via D-Mail).
And--on a lighter note----I find it interesting that what we call a "Bathroom" here---you call a "washroom" in CA ....Same concept--different names.....Do you call a toilet--a "toilet"--or is it a "water closet"--as they call it in Europe?
Take a peek now and then on the Mid Atlantic Forumand see all the frenzied activity there on seed starting....Jill (criterologist) has written about 3 articles on this topic alone. Just click on her name and see the "Published Articles" under her name.
Do you ever take the time to read these articles everyone is writing? Every day, six are published! SIX!!!!
While you are in your "Home page"---on the right is a window that shows you all the new articles for that day. Check them out!
Hope your tummy is feeling better. You just need to learn to take better care of yourself! You cannot go--24 hours a day--like some "Energizer Bunny"!!!!!!! After all--you are now in your 60's!!! Teeee...Heee.....:o)))
Learn to R-E-L-A-X.....
Say: "OOOOHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" as you sit cross-legged on a rug.....
Yeah, right! They say that sound is good for you because it vibrates your "vitals" in your chest....OOHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.......Feel it??????
Liz----
I have NO idea what that flower is! You guys in CA have plants I NEVER heard of not have seen! It is all that "Tropical Thing".....There are plenty of people on DG from CA. Maybe if you post it on a Plant ID Forum, or on the Tropicals Forum, somewhere, you will find out. Sorry....:o(
Gita
Oh, Liz and Kenny, so sorry to about Uncle. Glad you were able to visit with him.
Boy oh Boy I am telling you, This project is not simple for me!! Boohoo, can't beleive it only took you an hour and a half!! LOL it took me that long just to find my wood. Oh I started having just a ball, drew up the Blue print so i can get a little clue...moving right along, went out to look for my wood scraps. All was huncky dory until Tryiing to remove them from the shelf, heavy sigh they were frozen. So then had to pound them apart! Ok so I brought in the pieces That I can make some use out of., As i went along, I got my handy measuring tape, LOL being sure to play Bob Villa Measure twice...Scratch my head reread the size. okaay this should work perfect. So my big issue is I have to cut down and piece together to make the larger pieces. No biggie, have done it that way before, got plenty wood glue...I am a happy camper. Now Get my jig saw out and start cutting down some pieces. Ha, Already...Cut wrong 1/2 inch short so my base is 11x14 not 11x 14 1/2. All the while DH sitting and laughing because I am grumbling how this simple little project is not so simple um and not using such nice language! Hands on my hips... Not to mention, a jig saw isn't a very good tool for making a straight cut!!! So now, DH feels sorry for me and will help me with the table saw...He won't let me use it by myself! We had this discussion first thing in the morning, nope not by myself..LOL I even argued how Betty uses, I said if she can use one at 60 than i am sure I can use one. No, it's too big, I said well don't they make a smaller one....ACKKK, he says yeah, but i don't need one. I hope you are laughing because i find this to be hysterical...
Taking a break...Finally get to use the computer, breathing in and out and will do something else to rack my nerves...
Printing out your directions will go over them again, show him instead of trying to describe...ROFL, I am not a very good construction worker now am I? Hahah, Gita, I am OHMMMMG and OHMMMING.
Ok, now i got to go find another two pieces so i can cut them right! I am tellling you it's a good thing I really love Birds.
I'll be back!
morning all...
goodness betty is there nothing you cant do??
how is your tummy?
caught up with friend i havnt seen in years last night and some family which was nice.
still sewing madly lol
feeling good as summer drifts away and autumn is showing itself...
the trees are starting to turn...
hope winter brings rain....
have a great day all
xxx
Betty, I am ohhing over yours, turned out awsom, holes are a nice touch too.
Dawn, i loved the jogging dear story, LOL what a sight that must have been.
Liz, Oh my gosh that is alovely Plant, good luck trying to figure out what it is.
lol...you silly thing..
Half the work is in the tools..you tell DH that for me..tell him you want to play with the big gals..
You must remember that last night I had my wood out and measured everything so step 1 was already done...
Then remember I have a brad nailer, so I simply put a bead of glue and brad nail, you on the otherhand may have to either screw the pieces together or use nails and that's difficult to do on your own, not diffiucult-almost impossible..
the bottom part was a sinch..really was...and will be for you as well as long as YOU cut the pieces to the correct size..Bob Villa style..
You cannot possibly do a 30 degree angle with any tool other than a table saw or band saw..don't you dare try with you jig saw..go find a neighbor (or two) and have them pass the 4 pieces and the peak parts through their saws..
As for the 'V' part..another tool you won't have is a biscuit joiner..so you probably will have to glue these 2 sets of angles and leave till they dry so you can nail them together...
Sure do wish you lived closer..you love tools and I live with mine..lol..by best friends..you should see my workshop..need a garage..perhaps another year..that way I won't have sawdust all over .. in spring/summer and fall I'm ok..just the winter..guess that's why I change to stained glass...
Worked on my stained glass piece again but head was just a thomping so after meds went an layed down..as Gita said, I'm not getting any younger at '60' must try her relaxation methods..
Hey Gita, don't know if I'm capable of crossing my legs..that would be quite the sight..
Shar, hope you are resting, pen in hand writting beautiful articles for me to read..so enjoying the ones you've posted so far...need another..
Liz, when will you be going to the funeral or will you be able to get time off? Let's hope so..just wish you could go minus the in-laws..
What a lovely spring tree..you are teasing you brat..blizzard going on here..
Well, going to have a plate of beef stew..smells so yummy, then back to the couch..tomorrow's another day, I'll sand and paint my birdhouse then...I'm so excited..it's rather large and I can see it nestled in a flower bed looking so pretty..
I'm sure the plants will survive, especially when they need little water..lol
Judy, anxious to see how far you are, come on, get me a photo..did my photo help in any way..I hope you printed out the 2nd bunch of instructions..don't know why the first ones aren't positioned in the graph method that I wrote them..don't know how anyone could figure them out from that...
That Liz Judy is waiting, laughing at us learning the easiest method and then she'll do one..you just watch....believe me Judy, the 2nd one will be a cinch..might be a good Mother's Day gift for someone!
Um Sure Betty,
I am laughing so hard...as can see my wood choices. They are all Cedar.
Now I am at a stand still Waiting on DH, I can use his table saw, he ran to store!!
That's pretty much where I am at, so sad it hysterical.......
Oh, I do have nailer, all my very own!
I am going to see if he has a buscuit joiner..doesn't sound framiliar.
Enjoy your stew!
Yes todays directions are much better, was glad to hear all the angle are 30 degrees, big big help.
This message was edited Mar 8, 2008 5:01 PM
Actually Judy the cedar is a much better choice...won't rot as easily..tried to get it but they didn't have any boards that were 11" wide..so the fibreglass type liquid I used will do same..it's pretty well dry..will wait till morning though...
Stupid me, ate the stew and now tummy is really acting up..nothing fat in it..the stewing beef was virtually no fat and then just all the veggies - turnip, beans,cabbage,carrots,potatoes,onions..nothing harmful I don't think...so, I'll find something now to settle my tummy...
Just so funny, turn 60, my head aches, tummy aches, luckily not my back as yet..gee whiz..falling to pieces here...worse of it, is couch looks mighty inviting...
Watching the news, so many accidents..storm right across southern and mid Ontario..Ottawa right now gettng the brunt..and they say within 90 minutes the heavy snow is coming..thought it had been..
Nice to be inside,
Gita, am certainly going to do the wooden plant holder..keeping that for when I can get all the tools outside..it's done in heavier woods..will make a bench for it to sit on as well...oh I can just see my garden come alive...looking so forward to it..just like a kid getting excited for Christmas....
well let me tell you its been alot of sniviling but im happy to report we have lumber lol so im going to patiently wait till later to ask him but i'll have to rub in look all the girls are almost done lol.
no betty there going to have the funeral in lodi its not to terribly far so we dont have to travel to far , but its kennys sister that is just out there and now that she knows we are going she wants to tag along tomorrow so i guess we have to bite our tounge yap at you all later
Glad you have the lumber...looking forward to Judy's masterpiece...we will all be waiting for a briefing of their antics which I'm sure there will be..lol
It's early but I'm off to bed, think that if it wasn't so stormy I might take a quick run into Midland to the hospital..yuk my tummy is full of pain...must be the stew...anyway, going to bed..tomorrow's another day..
night/night everyone...
