Best/Worse and What did I learn today? Friends pt.35

Thought I'd move us over...

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

HA! Beat everyone to the new Post--just coincidence.....

I just wanted to tell you Betty that just stopping eating all kinds of Fast Food, donuts and pastries (with your coffee), ordering out for Pizza, stopping by McDonalds or KY Fried Chicken, NOT buying any pre-prepared or canned foods alone will lower your fat consumption considerably. Also--it will put a HUGE dent in your Sodium intake!

Home cooked meals of any kind are always much healthier--even if you do use the more fatty meats now and then.

My favorite "desert" during any season when fresh melons are available is cut up, ripe Mellon's and then dipping each piece as I eat it into "Dannon Light and Fit Vanilla Yogurt" Buy the big 32oz tub. it is much creamier and better tasting than the same thing in the smaller yogurt cups. The combination of fresh, sweet, ripe melons (Cantalope, Honeydew and Watermellon..also Strawberries) and the slight tartness of the yogurt is to die for! PLEASE try it!
I have 'converted" a lot of people to this. Then they have gone home and converted their kids to eating this too. If your grandkids frown at the word "yogurt", just tell them it is fruit dip.....:o)

After a while, reading the backs of all food containers becomes habit and you will be appalled by what is in some of those canned foods or frozen meats dinners!

Look at it this way, Betty. NEW Post---NEW lifestyle!!!..and soon--a NEW YOU!

Cheers to you! Gita

I've time Liz/Judy and all others who said they'd like to do this feeder to post info on it..

Planter found in the Spring 2008 Nature's Garden - Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications..supplied by Megan McConnell Hughes

Green-roof feeder's planting tray has drainage holes in each gutter to allow excess water to escape..

Materials Required...
3/4" Pine or cedar (all pieces)

Width Length # of pieces
Base 11" 14 1/2" 1
Base Border 2" 11" 2
Sides 6 3/4" 16" 2
Roof 9 1/8" 17" 2
Roof -these 2 pieces that form the roof peak are cut at a 30 degree anglecreate
Roof Gutter 3" 15 9/16ths 2
Roof Lip 3" 11" 4

Note: Any pieces to be angles are all at 30 degrees

Construction Notes:

This easy to build feeder is simply a platform with sides and a planting-tray roof. Drainage holes drilled in the roof gutter ushers excess water out of the garden and away from the food. The rood is removable for easy planting and care. If high winds are a frequent problem in your area, secure the roof to the base with screws. As you construct your feeder, follow the guidelines for best results...

-use a long lasting wood, such as cedar - pine can also be used

-protect the wood from the elements, I seal my wood and then can paint in color of choice

-For stability, sink the 4 x 4 post into the ground below the frost line or at least 3 ft, whichever is deeper. The post should extend 4 - 6 feet above so you will need an 8 to 12 ft 4x4. Tamp the soil as you backfill or partially backfill the hole with concrete. Top the concret with soil. Mount the feeder platform on the post with screws.

-deter squirrels and other feeder robbers by adding a baffle (not shown) to the post prior to placing it in the garden...

Will send photo of design..don't want to loose my post..lol

This birdhouse is both functional and eye-pleasing -
A green-roof feeder offers up tasty treats for winged visitors and a visual treat for you...

Once your birdhouse has been completed, follow the following instructions:

1. To begin, spread a 1" layer of potting soil in the planting tray. Quick-draining potting soil such as a mix formulated for cactus or succulent plants in general, provides the preferred growing conditions for the stonecrops and hens and chicks that will grow on the roof

2. Stonecrop, hens and chicks and alpine plants such as the dwarf bellflower that is being planted here are great candidates for growing in a green roof. If plants have a large soil ball from growing in nursery pots, knowck off the excess soil while preserving as many roots as possible so that the plant and roots fit into the shallow planting tray

3. Choose a high-quality mixed seed for your platform feeder. You will attract a variety of birds with a mix that cntains high percentage of black oil sunflowers seeds

4. Once planted, set the removable rood in place. If your roof garden includes plants that are not hardy in your area, simply remove the roof in late falland store in an unheated building. The actual feeder base can remain outside

5. Water the green-roof garden well after planting. Once established, drought-tolerant stonecrop and hens and chicks needs only about 1/2 inch or less of water a week..

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Too blurry, Betty.
Going to take a look now, Gita, thanks.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

A good site, gita. I book marked it for future reference since I have not been able to think much a bout food yet, but soon maybe. thank you.

Nap time again.

Shar, can I presume you are feeling just a little bit better..reading your posts lets us know you are feeling somewhat better so whatever you are doing must be working..just don't overdo..

Good Afternoon!

Was a good debate, glad it didn't offend.
So smiling and shaking hands with Gita.

I enjoyed getting that web-site too, My Breenie is also a vegetarian, so good to show her ideas on the kinds of foods and we will have ...enjoy the different recipes.

Betty, I am so glad you got to the doc and find that just a change in eating habits is the thing. Thank you for posting the directions to Bird feeder. I still have a bunch of cedar pieces so look forward to checking out the different sizes.
Very exciting as I do have chicks and hens already so I could plant the babies to this house! If it is easy wouldn't they make a nice present for people...Have a couple friends i could send them to.Oh yeah, Liking this already.

Ruby, LOL, will be fun to see the finds in your closet. Sounds like you are making really good progress on your office room. You will be able to use it very soon. Wish i had a special room, but then I guess I do right in the middle of everything, hahaha guess it's good for me to not have a closet, would be stacked high with craft stuff.

Thinking of Carol...Hope she is enjoying her visit with Sister. Waving Hello Carol.

Dawn, You are just the sweetest lady. I enjoy when you come and visit.

Liz, When shall we work on the birdhouse feeders?? Still got a clean work space, looking mighty lonely, LOL

Hi Shar...Are you feeling a little stronger. I hope so.

Ves, did you enjoy your day off. Hope the isn't insane back to work.

Well Ladies, my lunch break is over got a decent project to work on so hoping my afternoon goes quickly.

See you in a while.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, I'm doing mine this weekend..only thing that is required is to have someone take a length of pine or cedar and cut it at a 30 degree angle so the roof fits together..that should be easy enough..find a man with a saw..lol..we could do it together..working on another feeder but you all can't see it..lol surprise to my 'secret pal'..

Speaking of secret pals, check my mail yesterday and voila got a gift from a secret pal..lovely note paper..it is what I needed because I'm always looking for something to jot down numbers etc. so dear 'secret pal' thank you...

Glenview, IL

Great Betty,
Do you know if jig saws can be angled?
If not will ask my neighbor to make cut for me.

DH and Jacob leaving this afternoon for his State wrestling match!!
Saw your bird houses on the BH forum, My gosh Betty they are stunning!
After painting did you seal them with polyurathane??

Nice about your notepaper. Since I don't have to rush home think i will make a stop at michaels...hmmm maybe I''ll go home and pick up the girls. Oh,oh that good be trouble, at least a good kind anyway.

Crozet, VA

Hi Ladies - I am pretty much done for the day. This is the time of day that I begin working myself towards the couch and vegging out. My friend came and painted the bathroom cabinets. She too has had the flu and said that she was still too shaky to do the mirrors. John will paint them tomorrow evening he said.

Judy, the office room held more than two large plastic bins of "gifts." I just boxed up something for my secret pal and came here to get her address. I told the Professional Organizer that I could most likely go through about 2 or 3 years worth of holidays and birthdays of all my friends and family and never have to step in to a store. I am not exaggerating. Well, might have to purchase some "men" things, but as far as gardening and girlie things go, I could open a store. ha-ha

Judy, you will love to hear and see what is awaiting my attention in my bedroom closet. A few years ago I got in to ebay bidding on a lot of east indian wear/ware. Jewelry mainly but also veils, pillow covers, silk wall hangings and harem pants. I had gone in search of something to dress up my windows and ended up buying a lot of the floor length veils for that. All of the stuff was so beautiful. I mentioned this on another forum a few weeks ago and have made a few sales to a lady who plans to use the items that she bought to have a "dress up" box for her little nieces and family friends. I need to do my own here because it won't be too very long before my grandbaby Emily will want to drape herself in sparklies. Oh yeah, there are also sari fabrics too of some of the most beautiful prints that a person has ever seen. I will eventually use them as window drapery or wall hangings. I will take photos when I get to that closet. Might be a while.

The organizer comes again next Thursday and I hope to have the office room completed before she gets back and we can address my bedroom closet. I found that having her come and spend a few hours and give me some hints on how to do things, has motivated me to continue to work on the room while she is away.

While in town yesterday I was able to get rid of a good portion of the magazine that are riding around in the back of my Subaru Forester. Some went to a freecycler who wanted magazines to take to a nursing home. The place where I go for massages took a bag and I snuck in ten or so to my doctors office yesterday when I had an appointment. Shoudn't take me too long to empty rear of car if I leave a few each place I go. ha-ha

I am the long poster today it seems. I did want to tell Betty that something she posted a bit ago struck a chord with me. Betty said something about turning 60 and then falling apart. Reminds me of how I felt two years ago when I turned fifty. That year I was told I had breast cancer. The same month that I heard this news, my teeth began giving me problems. It took about one and a half years for me to lose every tooth in my head and now I have both upper and lower dentures. I have taken daily medications for about 25 years and many have mouth drying effects and when the tooth problems began they didn't quit until every tooth was gone. Emotionally the teeth were harder to lose than losing my left breast. As if this wasn't enough, I also began showing signs of scoliosis which is curvature of the spine. The curvature of the spine is also associated with numb legs and feet that has made it so that I am way off balance, don't have any strength in my arms and come close to falling a lot. I did fall twice last week. My big toe on right foot is black from the fall that I took during the middle of the night. I haven't been able to babysit for my granddaughter because I am off balance too much to hold her while walking or standing up. I try not to envy my ex husband and his wife who keep Emily over night every Saturday night. I am telling myself that later when she is older and can walk on her own, that maybe she will be able to spend some time here then.

So.......for a year or so I was so in shock at my body turning on me. I said more than once that I turned 50 and began falling apart. I haven't voiced that sentiment for several months now. The cancer and resulting reconstruction is over, (4 surgeries in 14 months) the teeth are in and I am doing what I can to begin strengthening my arms and legs.

Life is good. I mentioned when I first showed up here that I didn't want to be labeled as the sick girl. I have been making a point to not talk about my health, because for about a year and a half it consumed me. I made it up until today. I feel for those of you suffering with the flu. I am scared by the word. I am hoping that this household can stay flu free because the very last thing that I need about now is the flu. Say prayers that I won't get it, please. I don't feel like going through that, I have been enjoying not having so many doctor visits.

For those who are having health issues, this is not to negate what is happening with you all. Sharran, I still want to hear updates on the pneumonia and flu and Betty, it will be interesting to hear from the others what sort of diet you need to begin practicing, because I was told recently that I am border line for high cholesterol. I am always intrigued with vegetarians. Tell us more Sharron.

Good day all. I am off to the couch now. Will most likely check back in during the ungodly early morning hours. Thanks for letting me share ladies.

Ruby

Judy, nope a jig saw will not cut on the angle..am sure your neighbor can run it through a table saw at a 30 degree angle..it's very/very simple, that's the only part you'll need help with I'm sure...watch those deals at Michaels, they can end up costing a pretty penny..

Ruby, can sympathize with the teeth..when my kidney's stopped functioning and I almost lost a battle with life, I could virtually flick a tooth with my finger and it would break so out they all came ..wasn't 21 yet..on my 2nd set of dentures..lol..when I hear of everyone going to the dentist I smile, no more visits for me..sounds as though you've had some pretty major trauma's with regards to health issues but dear friend you are on the mend..I was thinking of a game I had years ago, forget what it's call but you'd have a body and there was a hole for heart, bones, eyes, teeth etc. and you had to put the plastic match inside, if you touched the edge all would pop out..think that's us..hit 50 - 60 and everything falls apart, lucky thing, dr's are so brilliant right now, they can fix almost everything..will say prayer so you don't catch the flu...thanks for sharring..

Laura, glad you are enjoying your sewing..think it will be 2 weeks tomorrow that I shipped of the blouses wasn't it?? maybe this week coming..must go back and do more shopping at the warehouse..glad you had a talk with the boss..sometimes that's all that's needed..just to clear the air..so let's hope...hope all is well with DH and family..will you be getting a long weekend come Easter??? Do you change your clocks as well?... nosy aren't I...

Almost time to go home, another 10 minutes, the groceries in Barrie, new lenses and just maybe a 'treat' for me..it's payday remember..always buy myself something as a thank you for working so hard Betty reason..lol...well maybe not hard but working..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Everyone must be busy tonight..just got in, of course I found so many bargoons that it made the stop worthwhile..some of which I didn't even need..

I'm just a laughing as I take this photo...thought it was about time to say 'goodbye' to this poor plant..another one bites the dust..lol...did purchase another to take it's place..the saleslady asked if I wanted it double bagged so it wouldn't catch cold, said 'nope, don't figure it will last the week with me' gave her something to chuckle about!

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

Managed to find undergarments..that blew my weekly budget by $100. so I didn't count it in, it's not something that says 'thanks for working this week Betty' so went ahead and bought the following, and a new wallet and another gift for 'secret pal'..so I'm able to go to post office tomorrow and ship things out....someone is getting some treats...lol

Did find these, one is for me, it's a warm blanket that forms into an outergarb to keep warm while watching t.v.
So up I go to try it on...

Didn't think you wanted to see all the outerware...just kidding..must make you gals laugh..I'm in a light mood, not sure why....

B that sounds like a good project. I may check it out and see if I can fit it in. Tomorrow I am getting 3 skips of decomposed Granit (dg) for my 380 blocks and pavers so I can lay some hard scape before the heat on the side I am somewhat plant wise ignoring for this year. Next year's plantings.

I will start a couple of lasagna beds too and build planters this year.

Gita I am just giving you a big hug. Group hug on Gita, everyone.

Gita I am so glad you did have some fun and that you are not mad at us.

Betty my dad is having GB surgury tomorrow and he put it off with diet for about a year and 1/2 but now he is dieing in pain so many days in a row where he is in the ER, that he is finally done fighting the surgury. You will need it eventually.

Sorry!

Shar I hope you are clearing out the old lungs some. I agree Mucinex is your best friend. When I had it, I took it and it didn't get as bad as everyone else.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Isn't that a lot of work for you to be doing Dawn..hope Greg is helping out..do you plant 'drought tolerant plants' because of the heat?? Do the lasagna beds take a lot of effort and time to decompose before you can plant them?Got to start reading up on all those things..

Sorry to hear about your father..sending prayers that everything goes well for him..that's a long time to be ill..not sure why we all fight illness..guess we feel we are falible if we're ill..Dr. looked at my file last night and made comment on how long ago since my last visit..think it was about 2 1/2 - 3 yrs. ago..asked me how long my tummy ached, said about the same amount of time, lol..shouldn't laugh though, if it was something serious, which it's not, there would be no chance of healing it...

Shar, hope you are feeling better today...

Cat, Trop, Murmur,Rachel and those I may have missed, hope all is well...

Judy, you are not home, am sure you picked up the girls and have spent your allowance already at Michaels...

Jeannine, guess you are just a quilting..

Carol, no sitting in the sun for long periods of time...hope you are having a drink on us!!!! Lemonade of course..

Victoria Harbour, ON

All settled in, no one to play with tonight so I'll make my last post...

Best..call from Mom, coming home around the 22nd of March..will be nice to visit with her...

Worse..Suzanne was having such a terrible day..she called me a couple times joking etc. which means she realized that she wasn't herself...

What did I learn..Wayne at the office is getting awfully protective of me..lol..

So dear friends, hope your day went well, that some of you got to play in the garden, some housebound due to storms yet enjoying the day, some resting in hopes of regaining their strength and then there are the lucky ones who are vacationing....sleep tight all..

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Well, gosh, I thought I'd lost y'all! All day long I'd come on to DG and nothing for the BWL thread so I figured everyone was busy. So I checked again tonight and again, nothing. It's like the site forgot I was watching this thread. Then it moved up to the next one so I've gone back and skimmed over everything and man, looks like I missed some "fun"! LOL - Sorry!

Anyway, I have been busy. I have two more things to sew on my latest quilt top then it's done. Won't take 10 mins to finish. I'll post pics when I'm done. Let's see, last night we had to head over to one of the local malls because the county was displaying art work from all the schools. Well, DS had one of his pieces on display so went to check it all out. I was totally amazed by some of the art work some of the middle and high school students have done! Some of them will go far!! DS made a mask that was part devil, part army man. Camo colors with horns! Got home after 8 and sewed some then hit the hay.

Very busy at work today! Barely had time to pee! Got home and sewed some more before heading out to the middle school for a meeting on picking their new principal. Just finished watching Survivor so I figured I check in with everyone.

I hope to get outside this weekend but they are calling for rain tomorrow. I want to till up the area I'm going to put my new bed on. It should be easy to get all the wire grass out after tilling if the ground is wet. Muddy, but easy!

Well, I'll check back in w/ y'all tomorrow. Don't go disappearing again!!

Jeannine

Don't worry, GG, if you were gone for very long we'd back track and pick you right back up. Can't wait to see the quilt.

Tell me about it Gita, if you miss 1/2 the day, you can get lost. We are not short posters either.

Thanks B.

Shar hope you feel better and are laying around with a remote or a good book in hand between naps

Trop I forgot to look at your link from the other thread but I can't look tonight because Dad is having me be at his house at 6:15 in the a.m. and he is 30 minutes away. I gotta go to bed.

Just peeked outside, not snowing at the moment but are calling for yet another storm, let's hope I'm there and back before it starts up...

Crozet, VA

Thanks for sharing about your teeth Betty. It looks as tho ugh you had lots of fun shopping. I love shopping too. Do any of you have stores called The Christmas Tree Shops near your homes? or have any of you ever shopped at these stores? Last September John and I visited some friends who live on Cape Cod in Masachusetts and I was introduced to that store. Great bargains and lts of very unusal things.

I literally filled our SUV with shopping bags from there and Macy's. I don't have a Macy's nearby either. The prices at the Christmas Tree Shops were great and I couldn't pass by so many cool gifts. At that time I was shopping for two new baby girls and also household items for my son and his wife who have recently set up housekeeping.

Not much to report this morning. I am waiting for my helper to arrive in a bit and together we are going to clean and sort office closet and then the closet in master bedroom. Small steps still being taken.

You all have a wonderful Friday. Will check back later on today.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Morning, gang...
Well I think I am sleeping about 23 hours a day now, and the rest of the time is spent checking on you.
Dr. tells me that sleep and liquids is what I need, and that is what I am getting. Trouble is I never know if it is morning or night when I awaken. Last night Ashley called, I thought it was morning, this morning at 3 I woke lights were on and I thought it was afternoon. Geesh. I have nothing to do, no place to go, and Kay has a key, so guess it doesn't matter.

My Ethan article is up today.....it's called Green Shoelaces, and it is a project to do with little kids this time, so if you have little ones, you might want to take a look. I was thinking of Gilli when I wrote it....also of some of your grandkids, as well as what is working with Ethan.

But Gilli.....I just thought of what a fun thing it would be for Sonora to do especially if she were making it for Ella, and it can be made out of scraps.

Can't keep my eyes open again. Will check in later.....have a good day.

Pacifica, CA

shar, enjoyed your article what a terrific idea!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Shar I will post here first then go and read your article. Looking forward to it. Have a good nap.

Liz oh to be able to just fire a person for good reason. Where DH works they start out new every year. So someone on the point of being fired gets a new start. In a way it doesn't seem fair. You and Judy keep us posted on your project.

I spent yesterday doing cleaning and laundry. The house has to be a bit presentable if DS is bringing GF to meet us. I decided not to do a deep cleaning as she can take me the way I am. This morning I made a pan od brownies and had to taste them. Oh to die for. It is just a mix but I added pecans and choco chips. Then I took an apple pie out of the freezer and that is baking. Plus made a lasgana for supper. All DH has to do is make salads to go with.

Ruby so enjpying your sorting and cleaning. It is giving me inspiration to start my own. Which I know needs to be done. With less hours working I will be able to get to it now.

Gita how did work go? Bet it felt good to go.

Betty how is the diet hunt going? Are you finding lots of interesting stuff? On the BBCA channel there is a show"you are what You Eat" She uses a Holistic approach to helping the people change their life styles and it is pretty interesting to watch. Now if I would just follow some of it. LOL

Dawn sending prayers for your dad.

Will not try to catch up to all. You were pretty chatty yesterday. Besides I have to get some more stuff done and try to get in a cat nap later. Then go to work.

You all have the day you need.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Feels good being in new undies..lol..just what you needed to know right???

Vicki will have to check Rogers Cable to see if we carry that show..I'm out to purchase some salad foods and fruit today, didn't make it lastnight..got sidetracked with sales..

Shar, on my way to read your article..meds sure are knocking you out..you do need the rest though..

Sitting here with bobo this morning, we weren't leaving till 7:30 so it gve me an extra 1/2 hr home, decided to cut a few pieces of glass to my project, somehow I ran my thumb against the glass and ooopppss blood all over..lol..that will teach me, should have been wearing those specialty gloves..

Crozet, VA

Same weather conditions here too Jeannine. Yuck.

Liz, I have been known to scrounge through other folks garbage to find goodies, and to not let kids or hubby throw things away. I am getting m uch better at it though. I am out of room to store stuff.

Sharran, I am one of those with a granddaughter who in a couple or three years will hopefully be gardening with me. I have only bought her two sets of tools so far and she is not one years old yet. ha-ha Will read your article aftering closing this thread out.

Ves, you have taken the first step to becoming organized. You have admitted the problem. I have been admitting my problem for years but have only now come to the crossroads where I am ready to do some things differently. Let us know when you start and we will cheer you on. That is one thing that I am getting from this group. Thank you all for allowing me think aloud and in written word and not telling me to go elsewhere.

Betty, you are a hoot!! Thanks for sharing about your undies. ha-ha But, I know what you mean, it does feel nice and fresh to have new things on.

I will probably check back later. Right now I am going to read Shar's article and then get up and work a while on closet. Happy Friday to everyone!!!

Ruby I have had the problem for awhile. LOL Last year I did the computer office room. But I don't keep it up.

A couple of years ago Well maybe 4-5 years ago I did my craft room and got rid of lots. Didn't keep it up. That is my problem. Not keeping it up. I do plan on having a thrift sale this spring. Have to start getting ready for that. I just put out signs for it. Live just off a crossroad between 2 highways. So pretty good location but the pits to advertise.

I decided a long time ago that my house will not be as bad as my moms. She has 4 bedrooms. basement and 3 sheds and started a rented storage unit full of stuff. There's noway I want to put my son thru that. Plus there is stuff in the few rooms she actually uses. So sad really! But her stuff is more important then her family.

Whew I am back to blabby self Warning Very Long!!

Well Good Morning,

Was kind of a bummer yesterday, Went to Walgreen’s found some really nifty items for SP's and other needed necessities anyway went to pay for them and guess what? NO wallet! Gees was a little frustrated over that...so went home to get it and the girls, but Julia had to go to a band thing, used my car so no go on Michaels. Then went to get on computer and poof Black screen, so no computer till late. LOL, I have no clue what was with that, but DD finally fixed the issue, then just too late come say hi.
...So got lots to catch up on.

Betty, nice purchases. Hehehe, thanks for not showing picture of under garments, but yep it is nice to wear new. Your outer garment looked nice and comfy... had to laugh out loud with your plant purchase. Now I think each week we should remind you to water your new house plant. Owwie on the finger, hope it isn't too bad. Mine finally healing over...Didn't even check on wood but, think I have the right sizes if not I'll just adjust with what I have.

Hi Wonder, So nice to see you! You must be having lot of fun with the sewing machine. Gets kind of addicting, huh. So glad to hear your SP gift is coming along so nicely.
Also, I was very happy to hear that you and Boss took time to talk, I surely hope that things continue in the right direction for you.

GG, How exciting to go and see your DS’s artwork on exhibit!! How long is the exhibit? When we have them here they are local Library and at the Park district, they usually keep them up for 3months or so. I agree on the talent of the young people, it is just incredible the ability of some and love, love to see all. Big smiles for you. Will look forward to seeing your new quilt top. Hope you are able to get out there and work the garden before the rain…P.S. Glad you found us, lol would have tracked you down.

Ves, Your dinner sounds scrumptious!! LOL, licking my lips on your dessert…lets see if I can manage a ride, should arrive just in time for dinner! You just enjoy meeting the new GF. I am sure she will love ya, not to mention…LOL she meeting you or the house?
Now, I am sure glad you got some down time again…I am not sure the kind of store you work at but sounds like everything goes in spurts….Ahh, don’t forget the plastic bins thingies for storage. Are you still frozen under? Woohoo, I can actually see some grass area…but talking of snow again.

Dawn, I am praying that all goes well with your dad’s surgery. I am enjoying your description of what you are working on in the gardens…wow, that is quite the tackle with the cinder bed…Please dear girl be mindful of your back, take it small batches if you are doing this all alone, which sounds to me like you are. We are going to be Razzled and Dazzled by time you are done and the neatest thing is we get to watch it flourish with you! Got to tell you I can’t even think of planting until my space is cleaned first…LOL that’s why it is taking me forever, and I work mostly alone. Going on 9 yeas now, but just got to love it.

Gita, Wishing you an enjoyable day! Was thinking maybe you will get more hours in since spring has just about sprung. Also wondering how are all your seedlings are doing.
Do you record as you go as to what everything is? Tried winter sowing a couple of times but never really made it to the end, DH complained of planting cups all over just don’t have the room for it, but I did enjoy watching the sprouts felt pretty darned good when I accomplished such a task.

HAHAH, OK IT’S NOW AFTERNOON!!

Shar, LOL you probably are exhausted from reading my post by now, sorry…Not to blabby now am I. Hahha, and I am trying to keep it short!
Anyway Good to see you are able to stay up for little bouts of time. Glad you are following docs orders for Sleep and Fluids. Hope you are getting some food intake too.
I absolutely love your Story on Ethan and Green shoelaces!! What fun fun project to work on, I think for any age and a great head start to gardening.

Oh Gramma Ruby, Dear sweet lady…I’ve been winging up prayers for all to stay healthy for you. I am sure you do all that can be done to gain your strength, you already know it’s one step at a time. Thank you for sharing your story, I had no idea all that you have been through. Your willingness to help everyone around…LOL(I lurk everywhere) sure is an indication of your strength then you will be up and about in no time. Emily is sure to love you to pieces when you and she go shopping and play dress up. Makes me smile and even cry happy tears in anticipation. Giggling about all your tubs of gifts, you must just love stocking up on things, wish I could but I am afraid not enough money to buy extras, so will continue to use leftovers to make my little items, I find it to be loads of fun, and relaxing for me. Now I can’t wait till you get to the Master BR closet….Love, love material especially exotic Sari and East India kinds, anxiously waiting, but no rush, got everyday to anticipate makes it all the more exciting. As for your magazine drop off…Sounds good! Drop off hear and there..Don’t forget the library, if you got a bus terminal..Perfect. Big armwrap.

Ahhh, Thelma-ROFL, I mean Liz, You got one more hour to go and I hope you shopping day is full of great finds. Will be up early.LOL my time to get things rolling so We could work on Living birdhouse…Betty and I will be ready when you are!

Oh good heavens…I am finally done, now have a good rest after reading this.
