belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i thought she was calling someone a "redneck, redneck."

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

amy, you are just too funny!! Actually, I think Celia did a good job of imitating a cricket!
Love the hair, Celia--red streaks and all! Do you really want to see a picture of my new car? because I just happen to have one handy but I didn't want to brag.

Would you all believe that we here in "The Natural State" are supposed to get another round of snow tomorrow night and Friday?!! As much as 12 inches in some places!!! Unbelievable--it is supposed to be Spring!!

Pau wants to go to Sonic and get an ice cream something-or-other so I'm off.

LOL Amy! That was too cute!
Mau, you just keep that snow where you are!! All that came in Missouri stayed a couple hours away from us, YIPPPPPPPEEEE! LOL

May Princess Kathy not encounter any snow in LA!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Miss C, you got anymore of these (Reedeeck, reedeeck)? LOL Still here for a bit, but donno how much longer.

May Princess Kathy never be tired.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

No crickets chirping here--it's too cold! LOL Currently 40º but our high tomorrow is only going to be 35º!!!! ;o((

Okay, you asked for it, so here it is: drum roll, please--ta-da!
(I know, I know, it is what my grandkids would call "an old ladies car" but, hey, if the shoe fits. . .)

Mornin Mau and everyone! I think your car is purty!!!!

May Princess Kathy drive a pretty car that she doesn't run over her seedlings with! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone. It is now, anyway.

To explain...

I received a call yesterday at work from a woman with the hospice that takes care of mom. She said there was a problem with mom and she was heading over to check things out. This was around 4:30pm. When she called me back, it was around 8:00pmish. She said that mom had had a panic attack and that it took them two hours to calm her down. WITH medication. Mom would not tell them what she was afraid of: she didn't know. They had the chaplain come in and mom was telling him that she was upset because she thought she had been very mean to everyone her whole life and was upset about it. She wanted everyone to know she felt bad and wanted to apologize. THEN she told him he couldn't leave as this was the end and she didn't want to be by herself. He was with her another hour and finally convinced her today was NOT the end, she still had time.

This had all taken place before the woman from hospice got there. Mom was asleep, she said and she didn't wake her. When mom did wake, mom told her she wanted to apologize to everyone in person or on the phone. I went this morning and she and I talked for quite awhile. thongs are better between us but I didn't get that apology, BUT...that's okay because the way she was talking was good enough for me. She called my brothers and spoke kindly to them and it's all better now.

There was more but this is turnong into a novel so I'll jsut end with this...

The woman from hospice said mom is down to weeks and this is a common occurance. We shouldn't worry because mom is not eating. Her body knows what it needs and will compensate. All we need to do is let her know it's okay to go and everyone will be alright without her.

So...how is everyone elses day going?

Mau, the car looks great! Love the color, too.

No actual crickets here yet, either.

Tammy? Thanks for caring. You know what I mean...☺☺☺

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes, Celia, I do! :) BIG HUGS GIRL!

Hi Princess Kathy

(Zone 7a)

It's not quite noon and I'm wiped already. Emotions will do that.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes, they sure will! Not having the best day myself, but I will be ok.

Princess Kathy, did you that the initials PK also stands for Preachers Kid? ☻

(Zone 7a)

I had to put on "Changes" with Ozzy and Kelli. Listening to it now.

For those of you who don't know the song, here are the lyrics...

I feel unhappy
I feel so sad
I lost the best friend
That I ever had

She was my woman
I loved her so
But it's too late now
I've let her go

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

We shared the eve's
We shared each day
In love together
We found a way

But soon the world
Had its evil way
My heart was blinded
Love went astray

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

It took so long
To realize
That I can still hear
Her last goodbyes

Now all my days
Are filled with tears
Wish I could go back
And change these years

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Beautiful, Celia! Hope this will give you a good laugh. It is very dark for some reason, but it is the brats playing!!!!

Princess Kathy loves her babies

(Zone 7a)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I'm tellin ya, they can tear holes in ya! LOL

May Princess Kathy never have holes.

Strasburg, VA(Zone 6b)

hello...it's been way too long, but i found you all again :-)
i think i was back in thread 6 or 7 and had every intention of reading to catch up until i saw 18!!!!
yikes....thread 23 would be in the middle before i finished reading with all of the interruptions from my young ones!

things are crazy & chaotic which seems to be the norm

i am wishing and thinking spring....it's not fair to have to spring ahead without it being spring!

lynda

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Glad you are back, Lynda. You are right about spring! And would you believe--we are expecting 4-6 inches of snow tonight which is highly unusual in our area for this time of year (for any time of year, actually)! Ugh!

Sorry to hear about your mom, Celia. You are going through changes, indeed, and a lot of them in a short period of time. Be encouraged, dear one, you will get through this, too. We are here for you anytime you want to talk.

Cute video of the puppies, Tammy. Puppies seem to have a never-ending supply of energy (just like small children). LOL

Y'all try to have a good evening. I'll be back tomorrow.
hugs and kisses all around ♥♥♥♥♥
Mau

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

All that snow and ice has just hammered the south in recent years. It's like the North moved South. Really weird.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

That's for sure, pepper!

(Zone 7a)

Wow! lots of snow everywhere, it seems. I read that we're going into another ice age and you can sure tell.

Thanks for the support, everyone. LOTS of changes happening. But I believe that change is a good thing. Because of you all and my family...

Good morning, everyone! It's a beautiful 'dyson dark" outside still. (Heh heh heh...That was for Mau.)

I'm so sorry, Lynda!!! I didn't welcome you back. Too focused at home. (Sorry)

I have an early morning today so I probably won't be on for awhile. DD Crystal is driving in tonight to see her grandma. It will be short one, though. Mom can't take much and goes to sleep while you're there.

Have a good day and we'll talk later. BYE!!!

Strasburg, VA(Zone 6b)

thank you :-)

this morning started off with a bang...my oldest has medicine twice a day now for oppositional defiant disorder and attention problems....been having difficulty finding a good time in the morning & it looks like that dosage will have to be split between morning and afternoon....she had extra attitude getting ready and her younger sister picked up attitude getting in the carseat on the bus & then my youngest was fussy when i got back in the house....i think i'm going to get the air & water checked to see if something in those is the culprit!!!!!

we might get snow this weekend and it looks like we'll definitely get some rain....i know it's good but the ground is just oversaturated in some places....lot's of muck

hope everyone has a happy friday....

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey, Lynda, it is entirely possible that there are things in your house that are causing the disorders in your children. I don't know how old your house is but if it is fairly new it could be fumes from formaldehyde in the carpet and also in the paneling, if you have paneling. There is a firm here that inspects houses for that type of thing. You might check around and see if there is someone knowledgeable in your area that could check out your house and give it a clean bill of health. "Oppositional defiant disorder" is new to me--never heard of that one. Also, various food allergies can cause all kinds of "disorders" so you should pay close attention to what your children are eating. Okay, that's enough advice from me this morning.

Celia, your photograph is certainly a study in contrasts! Very pretty. Have a good visit with your DD this weekend. Hope all goes well with her visit with your mom.
Someone didn't know what they were starting when they first used that phrase "Dyson dark" on the weather thread. LOL

Our snow didn't materialize in this part of the state although the west and north of us got several inches. I took this photo this morning of a robin hunting for bugs and/or worms in one of my flower beds. The photo is a little fuzzy because I took it through a window with a screen.

Y'all have a good day!

(Zone 7a)

I'm Baaaaaaack!!! But only for a little while. Crystal coming in soon, mom having fits of crying, DH coming home soon, cats underfoot, computer acting up, motorcycles revving across the street...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

Okay, I'm better now. ☺ Thanks, mau. The pic is something I look at while I do dishes.

Lynda, sorry about the trouble. My DD had the same troubles but she did outgrow them by the time she was 7 or 8.

Tammy, Tammy? Wherefore art thou, Tammy?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

HERE I AM!!! LOL Been out shopping today! YIPPPPPPPPEEEEEEE And not a single plant did I buy! LOL

May Princess Kathy have beautiful flowers.

(Zone 7a)

Hi!!! Must have food! What are you up for?

(Zone 7a)

And what DID you get?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I am having a bowl of Cocoa Pebbles, want some? :)

Mostly got Sienna some clothes and shoes, odds and ends, and a steam cleaner for the floor cause it is easier than messing with the Kirby! LOL But NO plants is what surprises me, but not cause I didn't look! HA HA HA

Hope Princess Kathy is well.

Strasburg, VA(Zone 6b)

mau, we are in an 1840's farm house....the oppositional defiant disorder (odd) is from what i understand not uncommon with being on the autism spectrum....she also is classified with global dev'l delays with uneven developmental skills...solid skills at 3 1/2 & scattered higher skills....she's coming up on 6 1/2 & i think she deals with a lot of the sensory issues as they noted she has inattention and impulsivity due to both internal and external distraction (i just got the latest write-up yesterday).....we've been going to the developmental pediatrician for just over 2yrs now.....trying to get serious in-home counseling for the entire family (including when the my husband's teenagers visit which always equals total chaos)....

i've been watching "you are what you eat"....i don't know that i could do the total package of recommendations but i do think much healthier choices with out all of the additives & colorings, etc certainly couldn't hurt....i know for one msg gives me a headache whenever i have food that contains it....i had no idea how many things contained it

i do hope that with some age things will work out a bit more smoothly....right now i think we will have to do the meds 3x day....yippie

this weekend i have to figure out where to put all of their clothes so they don't pull them out and mess them up/ruin them....i'm still trying to recover with the laundry from their last escapade.....at least i can now lock them out of the laundry (wish i could lock me in at times!) :-)

even with all of the "issues" they do find a lot of joy in many things and like having their own gardens and helping with chickens, ducks & geese....

shopping sounds like fun!
now that i run most errands once per week i don't take the young ones....it gives a little me time, especially since my ipod is loaded to block out problems if there are long lines :-)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL Lynda! It was so bad at Wally World today one of the girls got irritated and took us to their end cap, even though we had a ton of stuff. The lady in front of us had tons of stuff and flyers from Aldi's and K Mart, Kroger, you name it! LOL The girl just said she didn't have patience and had us find an empty isle where we could get through and go around.

May Princess Kathy never have to wait in long lines

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Sorry you had so much trouble at wally world, Tammy. No shopping done here today--It started snowing about 11 a.m. and continued until just a little bit ago. We probably got a total of maybe 3 inches, which is a lot for us.
Thanks for the crash course on ODD, Lynda. It's always good to be "in the loop" about those things. Sounds like you are right on top of things as far as knowing what to do. It seems that teenagers are difficult regardless of whether they are your biological children or not so hang in there and just know that you have to choose your battles carefully. Some things aren't worth "fighting" over and others most definitely are. You and your DH need to be in agreement about those things, as you probably well know.
My DGD is 14 1/2 and I just have to bite my tongue about her makeup and too tight jeans whenever she is with me. Fortunately, she is not one of those girls who "blossomed" early so her tops are not an issue, yet. ☺☺☺ On the plus side, which far outweighs the minus side, she makes good grades, is in advanced placement classes, plays in the band and wouldn't miss church on Sundays nor youth group on Wednesdays. So we just enjoy her as much as we can and we know that she will outgrow this difficult phase of thinking she is right about everything, etc, etc.
Here's a collage of snow pictures--taken about an hour apart during the day.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Mau. It was actually quite funny. :) She was ringing everything up while we were trying to bag and not miss anything in the cart. We had at least as much as the one lady did, but was outa there before she was! LOL

Glad you got that snow and not us, but I hope your purty new car was in the garage!!! :)

Princess Kathy is beautiful!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

The local Wally World in the next town is a pain. They only have 4 lanes open on busy days and all of them open on slow days. They have gotten better about that though. I think enough people complained about it. lol

(Zone 7a)

So, I go away for a minute and this is what happens!?!? It snows, people gp to Wally World without me, and kids are running amok? ☺☺☺

Hubby and I decided to go to Red Lobster for dinner. Mmm...loooobsterrrr......mmm...

So, very pretty shots, Mau. Especially the cardinals.

Good job at WW, Tammy.

Lynda, good luck with those kids of yours.

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone. 40º and the sun is hiding today. Crystal decided it would be safer to come this morning instead of trying to make it last night. (What a grown-up she has became. Took long enough.) She just called and said it was snowing where she was, (outside Dechesne) and clear roads. We've had some rain and it's mostly going to continue through the day. But that's okay because we're going shopping! ☺

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Good morning girly! :) Hope you and Crystal have a great day shopping!!!!
Morning everyone!!! :)

May Princess Kathy never get a :P at her!
