Underwater arrangements

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I'll get to it Terri, but don't be holding your breath LOL!

South, TX

Doing pretty good! I need to do an arrangement. I have to do some violet work first. Just got new shelves, photos. I have been doing lots of repotting etc. Little at a time.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Take it easy Sally, don't over do it now. I know you are anxious with all the new shelves and lights but Rome wasn't built in a day either!

Listen to Ms. OCB over hear ^_^

I like repotting, it's one of the more relaxing jobs in gardening!! Still, it's nice for you to get your hands in the soil again!

What is OCB? BTW!!

South, TX

I pot my violets inside, not hot, nice and cool. It is really nice to work with them again. I can't do any work outside in my flowers, just watering...

I have a new arrangement. I will post in a minute.

I have a new arrangement with an orchid and coleus.

Very nice Sally. Is the Orchid really big or is it in a small container?

South, TX

The orchid is HUGE! It is from my hubby's plant. Gigantic plant.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Love the color Sally and it fills that vase nicely. How do the coleus do underwater? do they last a bit? Terri, OCB is obsessive compulsive behavior!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

You asked for it, you got it.
This is what I call "Thrown together, I almost drown, Over Under"

Blonde moment again - I actually started trying to make this while the water was in the vase LOL, then I realized my stupidity and emptied it and made the arrangement, then filled it ^_^

Well, the last arrangement with the big orchid and coleus still looks PERFECT! So, yes, the coleus lasts, it may depend on the exact kind though. No way to tell, you just experiment.

Your arrangements are great! I just love glass, water and plants! I love your blond moment story, ha! I would NEVER do anything silly......:) I have done plenty of goofy things and water ends up ALL over the counter and down to the floor.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Thanks Sally, I did have water everywhere on my potting table and my shirt was soaked in the front so much I had to change again before going to the dentist. I actually had it filled to the top and then was sticking my hand up to my "elbow" in it to arrange the flowers LOL!

Candee, It looks Beautiful! the textures look so interesting, great job!
Sounds like you had fun making it too.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

It was fun and good thing it was a hot day as it made it cool arrangement to make. Thanks, glad you like it. The ismene out of the top was a bit much but it was left over from the bar at the cafe.

Ohhh that's really beautiful! Love the way you make your arrangements Sally, so calm and soothing!
Flower Aquarium eh? I'll be on the lookout for one of those! Your flower looks like Frangipani? or is it an orchid from Hubby? LOL!!
Are you feeling better?

South, TX

The flower is a Plumeria and I used my ever favorite coleus.

I am feeling better. I have been making my tiny fairie gardens! I just have to be careful and not lift etc... Plenty to do with my violets, arrangement and tiny garden fun. In a few weeks I can work a bit outside!

london England, United Kingdom

I wish you would start a new thread showing your fairie gardens, I would love to see those!
Sounds like you are getting stronger all the time, thats good!

Look in the Tiny Garden's forum here at Dave's. That is where my pictures are. I hate to put them here in case they are supposed to be separate.

What with your underwater arrangements and the fairys, it's the facinating world of Sallysblooms. LOL!!

BRAVO, posting here!!!!!!!

South, TX

It is just kind of magical! ha. I love underwater things and glass. Have fun with your new garden. Some people make BIG ones outside, some in a small container outside. Mine are inside.

london England, United Kingdom

Now, tell me how you made it, Please! Is that soil in the glass and moss? are they real plants, like in a bottle garden?

South, TX

Yes, all real. Soil, then moss, fern and another little plant. There is also a big Burr Oak acorn, pine cone, little mirror, flagstone she is sitting on, and a little fence in back.

london England, United Kingdom

Everything but the kitchen sink! I get the picture. I can't wait to find all the little bits and pieces to make one tomorrow.
AND I'm also making an underwater one, Sally style! nite nite!

South, TX

Happy 4th. Have a great time, can't wait to see!
