Underwater arrangements

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Sally those are fabulous fairy gardens. I started one for outside this year, but has gone by the wayside until I get more time. Glad it did as now you have given me new ideas. That one is really neat. Now for my stupid question of a blonde moment as I cannot tell, are those fairy garden globes filled with water or just look that way? How do you keep the plants so healthy?
Terri, I really like what you have done with that one. The plantstand really gives it a great bottoms up look.
Here is one I threw together for the July 4 holiday. Double hollyhock, lavender and lychnis.

I make underwater arrangements like this. But none with a fairy. I don't want to have the fairies under water. The fairies I have aren't meant for that.

Your underwater flower picture is pretty!

I love that Sally, that is just like the snow globes I remember as a kid, but much more beautiful!

South, TX

True, like a snow globe. BUT VERY HEAVY. I have two, one is very heavy!

Oh I like your red white and blue arrangement Candee! The Candee floss at the top is a nice touch, reminds me of the fairground! Fun, thanks.

Snow globes now? ohh I'm getting very muddled up Sally! I'll be back in a while with something, LOL!

These go upside down. All glass on top.

Here are two I have right now. Made them yesterday.

One more, the smaller of the two. Just when I think I get all the air out from the bottom, before I invert it... More air comes out of the rose. So I always have a bubble at the top.

The faries are hiding today LoL!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Is there any art you don't do? Pottery class that is beautiful and I mean the basket in the basket in the basket. I can see the fairies visiting there and putting down roots already.
You will have to check out the fairy garden forum, I started one using harry lauder walking stick, it is a bit bizarre and needs me to finish it one of these days.

Thanks Candee! I enjoy all kinds of Art, and working in the Art dept at a college, I am lucky to get use of a variety of materials sometimes. Lol!

See above for comments about the fairy garden forum! I hope to see yours finished one day!

Here is a link to thread I started on the fairy garden I am making if you are interested.

Of course I'm interested!!!!! Hope Sally is too!
Thanks for posting the link, usually the pictures don't enlarge, but this time they did!
I love your fairy garden! Such a good idea making an upstairs, with a cute little door and the sticks are perfect! It certainly looks at home in your Beautiful garden!

london England, United Kingdom

I didn't realise the fairies had been busy in the night. Thankyou it's magical!!

South, TX

I saw that, looks great! I am always on Tiny Garden's. Lots of fairies there!

South, TX

Always making more....

The stock above did NOT work well. Only a day or two. The color ran into the water. I have found that roses hold up best so far, at least for the long haul. For a shorter time, most work fine.

I like them both Sally. I get your drift as I made an arrangement on another thread of rose of sharon in water and they bled as well.

london England, United Kingdom

Hi Sally, Hope you are feeling better, glad you've been making more! The stock one is so pretty, shame the colour ran, but they would be lovely for the day as wedding table arrangements.
I've missed your underwater arrangements, so lovely!

Hi Sally, How are you doing?
These pink Hollyhocks have been underwater for 2 days , the water has turned pink!

I quite like the pink water, all the other flowers were white.

That green and pink are pretty. Nice job! Yes, when the flowers bleed it is kind of cool!

london England, United Kingdom

Thanks Sally, I night experiment with food colourings in the water next!
Have you made anything new lately, or have you been able to do some gardening yet?

South, TX

Well, not much OUTSIDE for sure. SOO VERY HOT and humid. We had lots of rain and now the mosquito's are attacking big time!!

I have just been putting roses in my flower aquriums. Nothing very new lately.

I repotted a bunch of orchids today in my sunroom on the floor, tile floor. I paid for that. I had pain in my tummy later. I think it is fine now. I am two months post op and the doc. said as long as I don't lift heavy objects I am fine. Still, I have quit a bit of healing to do.

london England, United Kingdom

You do seem to have extreme weather over there. It must be uncomfortable in such heat. Does everyone have air conditioning in their houses?
You will probably be sick of hearing to take it slowly, but it's so easy to give yourself a set back after surgery.
SO, be careful! Nice you got a job done with your orchids.
Have you bought anything new from your chair? LoL!

South, TX

Well, I have been doing so well. I would not have thought sitting on the floor would be bad. I am two months post op, so I really am safe. I am just not supposed to lift heavy things. Otherwise it is OK. Things still are healing though. It is hard to remember to second guess everything I do now that I feel better. WOW, I had some pain for a little while though.

Let's see, I have ordered from TWO places online. ha. AV supplies. Next week will be fun to open boxes when they arrive!

I got a box from HSN too. I always get something. Last thing I had delivered was a darling playgym for my Parrotlet. She only has SIX playgyms, at least... ha.

Here is her newest gym.

Thumbnail by Sallysblooms

Oh she's lovely! Whats her name? Will all those gyms to play in she must be the fittest parrot in town Lol!

South, TX

Her name is Chipper. She also has a flight cage. Parrots must be mentally and physically stimulated. Lots of exercise, flying, playing etc. They are active. Flying and playing does keep her in shape!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Hello Chipper, nice to meet you - you have a great set up there. So Sally, glad you are feeling some better and on your way to a full recuperation. How is Chippers' vocabulary, does she say a lot, bet she is great company for you these days. Stay in out of the heat and away from those skeeters, there will be plenty of days ahead for outside chores.

South, TX

She does not talk. Female Parrotlets do not talk as far as I know. Staying cool today, I did some work vacuuming, using the tile cleaning machine etc. I LOVE clean floors!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Oh, well learn something new every day. I have a co-worker who's parents have one and he doesn't shut up all day. Even when she talks to them on the phone from work, he is blabbing in the background LOL!

What is a tile cleaning machine? Sounds interesting.
