Yikes. . . I'm really scared.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Carrie, Happy for you and your family including all on DG who went with you today. Pretty crowded in that room today. I waved from Mass Gen. My dear friend got the A-OK too. Good day. I drove her back to Maine tonight and will head back to Nantucket on Sun to see my DH and doggies. Enough Medical crap, now bring on the bulbs and some real spring weather. Though today was very nice. Patti

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9b)

Great news! I have been praying for you here in Arizona, also.

Congrat Carrie on coming through with flying colors.. From the sound of it, you're not in too much pain.. Either that or you're completely flying on painkillers.. :) Hope your recovery is as fast as your op.. :)

BREAKFAST! (hi guys, excuse me while I eat.)

Icosden, there was no incision; the MD used um, er, naturally occurring holes in an unnatural way...? (This is a family site. . . . .) Not rreally any pain, just feeling wiped out.
David, you hold more in your thoughts than that every day, don't be silly. THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!! Allison, thank you for the more seeds.

xxxxx, Carrie

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Welocme home Carrie!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thank you, Harper. I feel giddy with being alive, cautiously optimistic about next week's follow-up appointment and resigned to the fact that I need a cystoscopy to check for more of these things either IN three months or EVERY three months! They tell you not to make any big decisions after surgery and I can see why - today I ordered a new hot water heater! I'm ready to think about the Next Car. Good God. xxxx, Carrie

South Hamilton, MA

Water must be hot, even though you have just returned from the hospital & you must have transportation. So there, nay sayers!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Yeah, does a hot water heater qualify as a big decision?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

$3000? Yup, that's big for me. It's probably the general anesthesia they're worried about - but I say, "don't drive after being told you have a tumor!" xx, Carrie

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Holy tamales! Is that what water heaters cost nowadays? I guess that is a big decision.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

LOL! In Boston, with my plumber, there was the $3200 tankless one or the $3350 tank-ful one. We've had a tankless one for ten years which has been nothing but headaches - and repair bills. That was the big decision - fix it again, for $1400, which may or may not work, replace it with another hopefully more reliable tankless one, or go back to one with a tank that uses more gas and is less efficient and bad for the environment, etc. etc. We've had this hot water thing hanging over our heads for a month now but we couldn't think about it; we were so caught up in the other thing. xx, Carrie

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Wow! I thought they cost more like $800.
Personally I prefer all things tankfull over the tankless. Life is too tankless as it is.

Carrie, my mind has rested so now I'm back holding you in my thoughts for next week. Do they have mind steroids? I should look into that.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Gosh, thanks, David! DH wants me to look online and see what they do cost when the plumber doesn't use who and whom correctly. I think mind steroids are called "street drugs". xx, Carrie

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Glad you're home and all is well, Carrie!

LOL Carrie.. "used naturally occuring holes in un-natural way" LOL.. DH had that issue too when they did his appendectomy. LOL.. He was very upset and uncomfortable for a while.. :) At least it sounds like you didn't come out to uncomfortable.. :)

It's all good with you coming out of the procedure safe and sound. Hope you a speedy recovery in the meantime.. :)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm quite comfortable, thank you. I think I'm all recovered. But that was pretty scaaaaaary!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

IT WAS AN ADENOMA! Not malignant, technically or otherwise, what a goofball to ever tell me it was "technically malignant!" He is much too charming to be angry at for very long, but still, he could have said "we'll wait for the biopsy" instead of getting me (and all of you, best buds that you are) all worked up! I apologize for putting you (and myself) through any undue stress and anxiety!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

yay!
congratulations - you must feel so much better knowing that!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I feel like singing but why did he say it was malignant before? Oh well, MDs all think they're so smart (apologies to any gardening medical professionals reading this)! Maybe he was preparing me for the worst so I would think he was wonderful later, but I thought he was wonderful before, now I think he's a jerk! (Sexy accent, but that only goes so far...)

Thank you, Amy. xx, Carrie

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Wonderful, awesome, terrific!!!!!! That is just the best news! Eleanor

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wonderful news!!! Maybe he thought he would prepare you in case it was bad news, who knows. The important thing is he was wrong and all is good. ♬♬♬ So glad you are singing a happy tune again! ☺☺☺

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

The Hallelujah! chorus has been playing in my head all afternoon - I believed him, 1000% when he said it would be malignant. Do you think it was supposed to be a one-man version of good-doc/bad-doc? Whatever, as long as he's right this time! ♫ ♫ ♫

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Carrie - just saw this thread and wanted to add my support. But it's over and that's great. I had (what I think is) a similar surgery.

So I know the worry you were going through and the relief you must feel now. The (only) good thing that came out of this for me is that I have a greater capacity for compassion for other people who go through similar things.

Congrats on the good news!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Katie. xxx, Carrie

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Carrie, I would sing too, if I could. Sleep well tonight, dear lady. Patti
