Wow..still working...DS Jeff dropped by so stayed later to gab with him..Paul writting exam at the Law Society tomorrow so Jeff dropped in to wish him luck..

Paul was booking hotel because he's worried about the weather tomorrow so will stay in town and study as well as not have to worry if weather turns bad..told him it had better not, because I have to drive in tomorrow..Suzanne leaves at noon for dentist and the girls have to leave at 3pm to do some work for him so he told me to go home with the girls..so early day tomorrow..might even leave with Suzanne..lol..give an inch, take a mile...

Colin our inhouse lawyer was here all afternoon..he's suppose to follow up on $$$ Bill owes me..funny Jeff said that was his gift to me for my 60th..fees for lawyer's letter..Colin laughed and said he'd try to have it here by Friday..would surprise me but would be nice..

Well Suzanne's ready so off I go..

(Cathy), MO

Hi everyone. Just popping in for a quick hi. Still fighting this nasty stuff. I've heard several say it takes 2 weeks to get over it and that's only if it doesn't turn into pnemonia. I did go to work yesterday and today, but didn't stay the whole day. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry.

Carole good to see your name come up. I've been lurking and keeping up with everything on the other thread.

I got a nice surprise package from my secret pal yesterday. Chocolates (they are already gone!), a nice card and an air freshener. Thanks so much. Nice to get surprises in the mail! Especially when you are totally exhausted, running on pure bullheadedness, and wanting to go to bed at 5 pm!!! It made my evening.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hi Cat, be sure to take good care of yourself.
Yep, chocolates are great!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got in..

Cathy, you look after yourself..some of those flu and virus conditions can sure make you ill..won't do anyone any good if you get worse..so, #1 priority right now is you....

Shar, you all packed and ready to head south..hear that the Florida east coast had no power today..am sure by now they've repaired the main grid..I so want to go down again..lol..don't think Paul would approve another week or two..

Carol, you still gabbing with company..hope you are enjoying your day..
Well everyone else, I'm waving..see..
Rough ride home .. just got in and it's almost time to settle in for the night so off I go..

Hope all is well with you...

Lord willing, I'll be visiting with you tomorrow..

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Hi all you are on my mind but no time to talk, just have more homework.

Glad Cat got chocholates and pigged out. We all need to do that sometimes.

Pacifica, CA

evening all,

well the saga on the girl at work.. the one who left 3 months ago got hooked up and became friends with the one problem we have now she got her on meth and smoking pot now judy the good one was a pretty girl she turned into a toothpick her whole face broken out well this weekend sara got her arrested for possesion i guess they found a empty bag of crank in her makeup bag she was arrested and put in jail, while in there she turned into the canary i guess it scared her quite a bit!
she told the dectives and her mother it was sara who got her to taking the drugs now during all of this judys mom was trying to get ahold of sara to give her a peice of her mind with no responce she went to the house to tell her off when she came into the house she was horrified to see all the house looked like a beauty supply house she asked her what is all of this sara stated we get all kinds of stuff from the vendors.
so judys mom called us today and told us what is in her house and that she is ripping us off big time so tomorrow our district manager is comming to catch her being late and out of dress code hopefully she will let her go as for all the stuff that is missing dont know if anything can be done i know loss prevention is working on it.

betty, this is so funny im embarassed to respond on the rr thread lol
i gave a clue how many miles and hours my sp was omg she posted she would look foward to it now see it dosnt pay off to give clues being secret is what it is all about lol

I have a question.....
How come you never use commas, or periods, or capitals or anything? Your communication all just runs together--in an endless stream of words, and I have a hard time deciphering where one sentence ends and the other starts. It makes reading a bit difficult.

Would it be too much to ask you to type your Posts like everyone else? In proper, grammatical context? It sure would make it easier to read!

Please don't mind-----Gita

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

HA! Gita, you are so funny! I read the posts and the ones without punctuation, I just read as one long sentence and figure the poster is so excited ot get it all out that that's how they were thinking about it. I read it in my fast voice. Afterwards, I go "whew" and smoke a cigarette! LOL Not really, don't smoke!

Ruby, found on the web an article in the Daily Progress that the Van Halen rumors were greatly exaggerated. The band was actually down in FL Thursday. Some of the crew had come up and were in a bar but no fight broke out. It's amazing how rumors spread!

Well, I've been quite busy. I think I did ok on my test last night. We've got the final test next Monday so that should be fun to study for. Work has been very busy too so no time to check in during the day.

I did come home today and promptly started on the binding for my DD's quilt. I got it back from the quilters on Friday and bought fabric for the binding on the way to class last night. Anyway, assembled my first binding and got it all stitched on. Yes, I cheated. I sewed it on the machine. I have no patience for hand stitching! Anyway, I'll have to show you a picture tomorrow cause it's on DD's bed right now.

Well, off to bed for me! I will check back in with you tomorrow if I can!!!

Hugs to all,
Jeannine

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Just a quick check in before heading to bed. We had a busy weekend and I babysat yesterday and today. Tomorrow is my busy day with doing my music morning. I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts and have gotten a good chuckle. Liz, I used to think that I had it rough with my MIL. It took me about 5 years to realize that it could be much worse. I really like my MIL now so I am very lucky.

Well, off to bed now. I'll have to take time to post more tomorrow.

Best - The massage DH is giving me right now.
Worst - The school bus was cancelled today and tomorrow and it's really cold right now. It gets tiresome bundling up for the walk to and from school a few times per day.
Learned - The snow in our back yard is REALLY deep. lol.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Wo Gita easy girl. That came off harsh and irritated, but I doubt you meant it that way. For all I know you were kidding in a serious way.

Sometimes there is just too much to post on this to worry about all the details of the script. It takes all my energy and little time to race around Daves and I seldom even read the preview.

Typos, misspelled words and all. Who cares, if it is too run on, I give up or go back later. We are all friends. So No Harm No Foul, I think.

No time to talk, just a drive by to check on Betty's nephew.

Goodnight.

god is it so hard to love someone??? I dont ask for much... Im so hurt....

im sorry

Victoria Harbour, ON

Liz girl, you just keep posting, comma's or no comma's, I'm with Jeannine, as I read your post I can virtually see all the excitement brewing in that little mind of yours....doesn't matter one way or another as long as I read your posts...lol

That is some development with those young girls..wow..could change Sara's entire life..still can't understand though how they can't do anything about the theft..maybe they can and are just bidding their time..

Jeannine, do you put quilting away come springtime or do you continue throughout the summer...I find I do different crafts in specific seasons...i.e. stained glass early Jan till spring, in the spring it's yard duty and gardening, in the fall it's decorative painting...know you spend a lot of time on the boat so doubt you'd have enough time to be sewing, but, you could bring it on the boat right? lol..wouldn't DH like that! Anxious to see your quilt..

Gillian, won't be long before the snow melts and you'll be enjoying...was saying same to Suzanne yesterday..won't it be nice to get up and leave for work without having to shovel, wear heavy clothing and freezing to death...have fun with your music today..that will surely cheer you up! You tell Keith I've sore shoulders as well, sure could use that backrub he's using on you...lol

Dawn, dropped in to Bernie's last night, he said that Mathew ordered something to eat, having difficulties with speach and with movement on his right side but the dr's seem to think that when all the swelling and trauma of the operation lessens that it will come back, at least most of it..he may need rehabilitation re his movements..thanks you all for your prayers..I'm sure they are getting to the Lord! Family is tired though..they stay 24/7...

Laura, anxious to see your project...we'll keep praying you find a better job..it will come, just takes time..glad DH is over the food poisoning..yuk..are you back to gardening..photo's please..if you aren't gardening right now perhaps you should be, don't you find it gives you such a sense of peace! How are those grandchildren..

Well, meeting Suzanne in Hillsdale, 1/2 hr drive..takes longer for me to get there than it does for her..so, better get dressed, have that 1st cup of coffee..already bathed/bed made, just waiting for the clock to turn to 'leave time' lol..house is always clean, pretty hard to dirty when you leave at 7am and got home 8pm. then to bed and up and at it..makes life simple..

Shar, those bags of yours sitting at the door yet?

Carol, know you are out painting the town red with your friend...we'll be waiting for update on you visit..

Cathy..so nice so see you post..hope today is a better day and you are all fixed up...

So dear friends, be kind, be safe, do something special for yourself today!

Talk to you from work this morning.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Laura, we crossed posted..you know sweetie I was once told that the reason I get hurt so easily is that I give, give, give of myself because that's my personality, and I have great expectations as to how we should live our lives, i.e. kindness, looking after ones neighbor, being a true friend etc.etc. and in doing so I think other should do same, but that doesn't always happen and I'm disappointed...you can never love someone enough for them to love you back with same intensity! Did learn that the hard way...no one loves the same way Laura, some show it, some don't, some see how intensely we adore and love and it frightens them..you and I are very much alike ... perhaps let some of the anxiety you are feeling towards this issue settle a bit, see it as a chance to do something totally for yourself, put all that energy, the need to love and be loved into 'LOVING YOU!' and maybe then your situation will improve...know one thing..WE as a group are always here should you need us, you'll not find better 'healers' we joke, we laugh, we feel the hurt not always written by our friends in these posts, but we've become so sensitive to each others' needs that we know when the other is hurting, as we know you are..don't back away, we've years of experience to offer you and if we don't know how to rest assured we'll be checking out cybrespace for links that may do so...

Know you can trust to have your best interest at heart!
Love you Laura...keep in Faith..that is where it's at -at all times...

Hi Trop..I popped over there as I am trying to catch up on the posts here...and saw your request.
Sounds like a hornet's nest.....I don't quite understand.

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Good Morning all..

I picked Cathleen up at the GO train station in Oshawa on Sunday afternoon. My daughter and her fmaily came for a visit in the afternoon.Later I made my famous Peach Chicken salad with Poppyseed dressing for a light supper.

Cathleen and I had a lot of fun catching up.....watching the Oscars and had a score sheet. Of course Cathleen won the prize. LOL..she is a big movie fan. She had seen every movie that was nominated for best picture..I had seen none of them.

Monday we had a walk in the Secret Garden....and then went to the new MOJO's cafe for Caramel latte, shared a Pannini sandwich and had an ice cream cone. We sat in club chairs and giggled and chatted..and told the waitress our "story" as she took our photo eating our ice cream cones and having our lattes.

Came back home and had a glass of wine ..more chatting.. we laughed and said our jaws ached from talking so much.
later on we had dinner... Shrimp Alfredo.

Yesterday we opened little gift bags we had for each other...and then Cathleen was picked up by Classique Airport Van to wisked off to fly back home to Victoria B.C.

It has been a bright and light few days.... I am so happy we had this time together.
This is Cathleen in the Secret Garden

I showed Cathleen the painting with all of us in Betty's Garden and tried to explain all about the Birthday in a Box.
She was so surprised and thought what a fun bunch of gals.

Here we are with our Ice Cream cones at MOJO's. Pralines and cream for me..Moosetracks for her.

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

This is me and the Hidden Gazebo. Cathleen has never been here in winter..so it was quite a different look this time.
This is the fourth time she has visited.

I haven't said before..but 12 years ago we both were in a chat room online....and she saw I lived in Newcastle..and she thought it was Newcastle in England..so she started to chat to me..as she had some family link to Newcastle in England..and we became e-mail pals.
We have a lot in common..and can really talk about anything and everything so easily..and laugh and be playful.

Last time she was here was for my 60th birthday in 2004. Her fella came too..and he built a trellis for me then..so there are memories for her out in my Secret Garden

Hi girls........

yes I have grown Elephant ears for a few years. I bought a tuber in Myrtle Beach one year when I was there and brought it back.
Have grown in a pot.
Only thing is that you have to bring it in over the winter.

Wow Liz isn't it good to know you were right about the stealing? But the rest of it is kind of sad. For the last 4 days we have been resetting the grocery aisles. It's been going real good. Anyway I am so mad at the mamager right now. Monday I asked if they wanted me to stop and do my regular chores as it was time for that. It was decided I'd keep working on the foods as it had to get done.

In the morning they were coming to clean the floors. Yes we did leave a mess mostly in carts and a few boxes sitting on the floor. No I didn't sweep or wash the floors as normal. Anyway the manager wrote a note how mad she was as she had to move all that stuff for the floors to get done.

Now let me tell you I have never been told any of that stuff before and I'll bet lots of money the asst. manager never had been either. If we had known those things had to be done we would of done them. But she keeps telling us the shelves have to get done first! So shouldn't something of been said when I asked her if I should do my regular chores? Yes I did get the cold shoulder also until the asst. manager left. Hope you all can understand what I am trying to write. But this happens all the time. She wants something done but you are to do this also!

I'm a weee bit frustrated! Have to get ready to go to work. Tomorrow I am off! YEAH! Then I don't work with her for the next 2 days!

You all have the day you need!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Sorry I don't have time to comment to you all. Didn't mean to sound so self centered.

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi ves..we are all interested in anything you want to say..the posts sometimes are too many to respond to.
I am sure everyone understands. I got way behind too..and will just jump in and start fresh...

Vent away..one you you will be retired..and no more hassles...LOL

Cheers,
Carol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Vicki, hard working under those conditions..you can only do so much..not self centered..you are upset and reasonably so..nothing more than someone wanting you to do your regular days' work and then add another days' work to it and expect it all to be done..

You'll have to do something in the next 2 days to chear yourself up..
Jobs suck sometimes don't they...better not let Paul (boss) hear me say that..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Carol, goes to show you can make great friends over the internet..could her boyfriend come and visit again and make me one..lol

Well if the elephant ears have to come in out of the cold in the fall, that leaves me out..you know how well I do with inside plants..

Last night I took a few secs. and sat on back porch..it's all enclosed with plastic so all my decorative things are still there, I just sat and thought of all the wonderful things in my life..you guys, family, friends, having a home that I'm able to upgrade, my crafts..life's good..well it was last night..lol

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Betty..
LOL
That makes me smile..to think of you sitting outside in the cold....and feeling so happy..I was the same last night..feeling happy..
You got me to looking for the thread about garden art..
I found this thread

Morning,

Have a couple of mins to say hi. I wanted to show you the fabric I am going to use in the kid's bathroom. DD wanted brown and aqua and I ran across this fabric the other day so I bought what was left on the bolt of the floral one and a fat qtr of the striped one. I figured if she liked it, I could make the windo curtain out if the floral one and go buy more of the stripe for the shower curtain. So DD loved the fabric and I decided to try and find 2.5 more yards of the floral cause I really think that would be better for the shower curtain and the stripe for the window. Anyway, I did find it online so I ordered yesterday along w/ 1.5 yds of the stripe. We're going to paint the bathroom the soft lime green and then paint periwinkle and brown stripes on the wall. I think it will look great and will be good for both a girl and a boy.

So here it is. The picture makes it look like baby blue but it's really a periwinkle blue...

Hi, All,

Hey! I did not mean to offend anyone! If I did--I apologize here and now....

I read kind of slow--like every word. I cannot scan over a Post and remember anything I have read there. So--if I am reading, and then something doesn't make sense--I have to go back and read it again. Then I realize that it was meant to be two sentences...

I will just plug along! No one has to change anything.....

Gita

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jeannine, love the print..so soft and pastel..sounds like quite a project..everybody feeling better in your household?

With all this talk of painting I'm tempted to maybe redo my living room/hallway and dining room..only trouble is when you have open concept you just can't do one room..they all run into each other..

Bernice in her living room as wainscotting 1/4 the way up and wallpaper the remainding 3/4 ....looks so pretty..

Looking forward to seeing the before and after photo's

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gita, my minds always racing along so it's simple for me to take everything in as I'm always doing 5 things at once..lol..

Can underestand it when one must focus on reading...
I am going to get those angels done this weekend and get them shipped off...

I'm excited about going to Meaford on Sunday with Suzanne and Marguerite because they have such treasured for the garden..I've a couple of trades to get out..i.e. windchimb so I know I'll find what I want there plus about 10 things for me....

Good Morning!
Running late today. So trying to catch up...LOL.

...Liz, oh gosh, I sure hope they find someway to get that girl in the act.

Aww Ves, I am so glad you got a couple of days to unwind. I am glad you got to release those feelings. We are hear to listen, I know guessing at what managers wants are not too cool, don't think you are being self centered at all.

Carol, I so enjoyed your visit. What a beautiful story of your friendship. I was smiling and shivering at the thought of eating ice cream in the cold,LOL.

Speaking of Stories, Shar...I really really loved your article. What a wonderful story to be told and am so glad you shared it. Especially hearing that it was how you discovered your art...What fun! You are a great story teller and writer!
...You all should read it, definately will make you smile.

Wonder, sweetie...sometimes things go in reverse, but then the next steps forward go in great strides. ...Best thing i can tell you is follow your heart, usually it is right. Things will suddenly fall into place and you will be amazed.
just know that whenever your ready we are here. i am so glad to hear that you enjoyed the craft..Am looking forward to seeing what you are making.

Oh Betty, How wonderful to sit and reflect. Pretty soon that plastic will come down and you will enjoy the warmth of the sun and ponder some more on your pretty porch. Great you have a short day today.

Hi Gilli...Hope the makes it today!

Hey, Haven't seen RACHEL!!! Hope you are well...waving hello.

Well, Started a new project last night...I have got to say. Woohoo having the right tools really make things go alot better! Can't tell you about the tools yet. But i can tell they are little hand tools. But I am having a a really fun time with this creation. Plus I have started reading this really interesting book. In Search of the Grail Bird.
