Mine is pronounced SEE an dooor. It is my RPG character that I never get to play, cause I only kill Japanese Beetle (minature orcs!) and other garden pests.
What's In A Name
I'm off to American Idol!
Seandor, now everytime I see your name I'm gonna think "Isildur" from Lord of the Rings!
Seandor, what's an RPG character?
A place I am found everyday there is not snow and ice on the ground, I am such a dirty, dirty man.
Michaela lives in Middle Earth when she has time LOL
I'm always glad to tell my story. When my 13yo DGD was little she used to call me and DH 'grampapa' like we were one person, as in, 'I want to go to grampapa's house'. It just stuck and I used it for a couple of other things. It was easy to remember. When I signed up here it was just to use PF. Then when I joined, I was stuck with it and everybody thought I was an old man. People still call me gramps. So I started signing my name 'gram ~ a girl', so people would know. It was the gramps-thing that got to me LOL. just don't feel (or look) like a gramps.
gram ~ a girl (aka jan ~ still a girl)
Harper, I believe it means Role Playing Game, as in computer games.
What does Seandor mean anyways, Michaela?
Or in other games too.
No imagination either... I think if people would call me by another name I would forget to check the email!
Well, I have no idea where my name came from...no clue...not at all...can't even guess... RPG...my favorite at them moment is the MMORPG...WoW.
What does Seandor mean? Have no clue. If I had thought about it, I might have developed a new name using one of the Elvish languages that Tolkien devised. I have had Seandor as a secret name since I was 13. And yes, it is very much like Isildur.
Grampapa is correct regarding my living in Middle Earth on my days off :-)
RPG does mean role playing game as in Dungeons and Dragons. I only get to play as the Dungeon Master - the person who actually weaves the storyline (a rather God-like role !) because I won't kill things or battle. I try to develop storylines such that resorting to brute strength works against the players; they have to use their brains to sort out clues etc. Unfortunately, most players just want to use weapons rather than intellect!
Interesting thread.
Mine is pretty obvious too.
There are three of us, although I am the only one who uses the computer. DH will play a game of euchre occasionally online, but if I don't bookmark the site he can't play :)
Mom comes over with plant names written on pieces of paper for me to search for her, but that's her only interest in the thing.
We all love to garden.
Thom, my 15-yr.-old dd wants to start WoW - her "crush" is into it. So we have to get her more ram.
Ah, yes. WoW - my 20 year old daughter plays :-)
Lovely fairies, Pixie :-)
I like that Celeste. No connection to Tinkerbell at all? What is WoW??
world of warcraft. if your boys were older, you'd know more than you wanted to about it.
Yes Victor, I like Tink too and have a few items with her on it.
Mine is well, ok a SEMI-fictional character I invented when I was 2. Then she was stolen from me at the tender age of five when i was informed my name was really Carolyn, which is what doctors and the IRS call me. I have a few other aliases but I can never remember which one goes to which site so from now on I stick with the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Stupid. Also, I have nothing to steal or hide, really. My kids aren't marketable any more.
Pixie, you can't be my age, how did you get such enormous children? (Duh, had them sooner?)
Anyway, nice to meet you all again.
xxx, Carrie
Carrie, I never would have guessed that you are a semi-fictional character!
Okay - more violent video games I guess. No interest whatsoever. Thankfully, my nine year old still shows no interest in video games. Most of his friends have Wii or Playstation, but he has never asked for one.
I don't know what I'd do if it weren't for our x-box...best investment I have ever made. It's like a pacifier for adult men. Keeps DH content (read no Simpsons/South Park reruns) and off of the computer.
'Adult men'??
I guess I didn't need both "adult" and "men"...especially in the same sentence with x-box.
Hee hee. Please don't lump all of us together!!
y'know, whenever i pass one of those "Adult Living Community" under construction signs, it always sounds a bit too much like "adult films," etc.
Of course, i also think "Babies'R'Us" is strange. Considering what you get at "Toys'R'Us".
And i am really bothered by the "Teriyaki Boy" chain of restaurants in NYC.
love your fairys Pixie.... I will have to take some photos of mine for you
Amy -
There really is a chain called "Teryaki boys"??!! Sounds kind of kinky,,,,,but I really don't want to go there....but we did have a Thai restaurant near us once that had "Sum Yung Gy" on the menu. We always teased our alternative friend about ordering it.
Tamberlin is the name of my first dog and my bestest friend for years. He passed away at the venerable age of 16 (old for a golden retriever) in my arms. I keep him around and in my thoughts by using his name often.
:-)
Deb aka. Tamberlin
Nice story, Deb.
LOLOL @ slurred.

that is funny!
Ha schickenlady wins! ROFLMBO
yes, I'm an official WoW'er...Paul calls it Warcrack...I have no idea what he means...no clue. I really like some of the unusual/interesting names, and, as always, I've learned a few things.
MMORPG...mega multi organizational role playing game...I believe...to date, 10 million accounts and growing...wish I had part of the games stock. Over the last few months, William Shatner, Mr T, and...the actor who played "Mini Me" in the Austin Powers movie, all did commercials for World of Warcraft.
PS-everyone one of my characters are plant names...lol. I have a mage, who is...take a guess? Hemerocallis. And a druid, who is...guessing yet? Hosta.
Gotta go...order more plants.
I goofed...MMORPG...Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game.
that's a mouthful.
Tooo funny! I wonder how many players actually recognize the name hahahah
Men are from mars, women are from venus. Many years ago I dated a guy and people actually called us mars and venus. On the internet, I dropped the s and added my birth day as some people thought venus alluded to a "working" woman's name. I didn't want anyone to be confused.
