Almost forgot, in all my gabbing yesterday, I did not tell you that I've put all those poor plants to their eternal resting place..in the garbage..might have a better chance of survival..so now I'm looking for new ones in hopes they might brighten up my rooms..

Laura, getting worried about you 'sweetie' haven't seen you on of late..please post to let us know you are ok...

Hello everyone else...

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Liz that is great for me so you won't have to walk the walk of shame at chucking them. I can only do cactus that take low temps, like in the 20-30's. Most of my succulants and cactus' took a big dump this year.

when are you thinking so I can make sure I mail you a check, and how much?

Victoria Harbour, ON

You found us Dawn..wonderful..
Just having supper and then it's off to bed..

Suzanne and I decided to get some shopping done..she had numerous things on her list so we decided to go to Barrie Georgian Mall..made good time, got there at 5:30..I decided to go and get some tea towels for the exchange..had some wonderful bargains so picked up 2 pkgs. of 3 co-ordinating towels for my 'surprise buddy'...going to post tomorrow..so, just under the posting wire..thank goodness..wouldn't want to get kicked out of yet another group...lol big time!!!

Anyway, that's all I wanted but ended up with a pair of navy slacks and a beautiful silk blouse with stones and miniature beads..I'd never spend the $100.00 they asked for it but $50.00 why not? So I have something pretty to wear to work tomorrow...OMG couldn't believe that in the time it took to spend my bucks we had a blizzard going on..could hardly see for 30 miles or so..looks as though it's dying down now..let's hope..

Missy is non the worse for wear for her day in the cupboard..that will teach her right?

So how was your day..missed you all..

Gita, did you get that washroom all painted...
Shar, how much more before your painting is done...

Ruby/Cat/Carol/Laura hope your day went well...miss you all!

Pat and Helen's work..same picture..but all have different concept of it..interesting isn't it..they could leave one for me and it wouldn't hurt my feelings...I have about 6-3/4 done with different designs..better do my own..or maybe we could have a painting 'bee' and each of them could finish one of the 6...what do you think???

Victoria Harbour, ON

forgot their picture..they get so excited that I show you their art...please have patience with me..just like bragging about them...they are just too cute...

Very nice work B, you teach well. It is freezing here tonight. I could not handle cold for a long season.

(Cathy), MO

I don't see how you do it Betty. Take people and walk them through paintings and crafts that turn out great. You really have a talent for teaching.

We are expecting a big snow storm here tomorrow. Anywhere between 6 inches to a foot. For us, that's big! I'll believe it when I see it though. last time we were supposed to get 6 inches, we ended up with a skiff.

Hope everyone is having a good evening

Victoria Harbour, ON

We've not had as much snow in many years as we've had this year..but it's difficult because it's in the minus degrees, volume of snow overwhelming and then a warm front moves in, rains and then we start all over again..they are calling for warmer temps tomorrow and Wednesday, then back to winter conditions..don't you think that's why so many are ill with the flu/colds etc.

You'd not do well here Dawn..how is school going???
Sounds as though you are right in the middle of planning this years' garden.. how wonderful..and here we have to wait for another 3 or 4 months..so, until it's our turn you must post photo's of yours so we all can enjoy...

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

It is still cold here but I may start sowing seeds and killing weeds.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hate to mention it, but I have my A/C on, it was 71 here today, and my house got hot, so hot that the cats were lying in front of the AC vents when I finally turned it on.

And my daffodils are about 6 inches up! whohooooooo.

OK, no time to talk, still painting. but it is going well...nearly finished, will have photo in a day or so.

Take care....I am still reading, even if I am not posting....so don't say anything tacky about me because i will read it for sure.

Have a good Tuesday!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Shar!
Shar,

You turn your AC on when it hits 71*????? That is when I just take a breather!

I don't do it until it is 85+ degrees for a couple of weeks--then I give in!

I guess just different levels of tolerance.....I try to "suffer" through the extreme cold and heat, to a certain degree, to save money on my gas and electric bills. They are high enough as they are. I am on the "budget Plan" and pay about $220 a month! Ouch!

I am also starting to think about seed germination.. Trying to figure out a better set-up than I had last year.

Tuesday morning and all energized ready to go..having my coffee with you!

Liz, when completely finished the birds will be 'loons' they have such a sorrowful sound, can hear them on the lake for miles...

Checking out my furnace..feels so cold in here..the girls yesterday turned the heat down quite a bit, but I've the fireplace upstairs and that downstairs on plus heater on high and can't seem to feel the heat..maybe just me...

Missy is sitting watching us gab, wanting to say 'hello' to you all...or perhaps she's just making sure I see her and not locking her in any cupboard today! lol

Hi Everyone - Liz, I would be tempted to send the plants with their leaves still on them. I am not sure what type of box you will use, but hopefully the shippiing won't be too much. I received lots of plants in the mail last year and they all did okay.

I do remember one person sent me a good batch of iris last year. They cut them back considerably though. I hope that someone with more knowledge than myself will advise you on shipping them.

I think that I missed reading here yesterday. Lots of posts to read and all very interesting. Oh yeah, thank you or posting the pictures of your party Judy. It looks as though everyone was enjoying themselves.

Another week is upon us and I hope that everyone will have a good one.

I bought 4 different birds when in Florida, gave 3 away ordered 8 more..lol..hummingbird, blue-jay, cardinal etc.
so now I'm trying to think what could be done with them..so asking for your thoughts.. the birds are divided in two and when put each side of glass it looks as though it's coming through the glass...any thoughts????

Morning All,

Back from the cardiologist and woo hoo my arteries are gunk free! So I promptly went to our cafe' and got eggs and bacon! LOL! Seriously, my heart shows no plaque or calcium buildup and my carotid & aorta arteries are all flowing perfectly so I am obviously very happy. No reason other then peace of mind made me go.

Back at work now. Will chat later!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jeannine, were you feeling ill to prompt you to have these tests or were you just being cautious...

Victoria Harbour, ON

So much time on my hands today..want to play a game?

It's called "If You Were!" I will ask a question starting with "If You Were" and the next person will answer the question and ask another question beginning with "If You Were" try to keep it going today....

Lets have fun and be creative!

If you were lonely today, what would you do to spice the day up?

Glenview, IL

I woul talk to a friend on the phone,
If you were able to work in the yard what would you do first?

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Did you have an angiagram?

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I'd talk to you on Dave's or go to the Nursury for hours and come home and plant stuff by that time, I'd be over it.

If you were rich for one hour and could do anything, what would it be?

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

I'd be transported to England ..and go to the town I was born in .....and then look around and vsit any garden nearby.

If you were allowed only one meal..anything at all..what would it be?

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

I would have strawberries and melons, with a sprinkling of blue cheese.

If you were allowed only one talent what would it be?

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I'd be able to sing beautiful enough to make myself cry.

If you were able to redo something you did wrong in raising your child, what would you redo? (only what you can share?)

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Hmmm... I'd be more consistant and learn to make the "don't even go there" eyes my DM used to make.

If you could spend the day with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

On my test: Nope, no problems. I just had heard about this heart scan - EBT scan, and I wanted to have it done just to make sure everything was ok. I've had slightly high cholesteral and I'm overweight and don't exercise much so from that I figured I could be a candiate for heart probs. The heart scan checks your heart for any plaque or calcium buildup in and around the heart. I got a zero rating which is perfect. The other tests I had done were called vascular ultrasounds. They check the blood flow in your carotid artery in your neck; your aortal artery in your abdomon (for any potential aneurysms) and your femoral arteries in your ankles. All very fine thankfully!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Your a fine specimen then Jeannine..wow, think I'd be frightened to have such test done..usually they find something...

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

My late husband Jim.

If you were chosen to do Dance with the Stars..what would be your favorite dance to do well.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Whatever the dance was that Jennifer Gray and Patrick Swayze did in the final scene of Dirty Dancing...

if my legs could ever dance...

If you could what would you say to your best friend from first grade...

Victoria Harbour, ON

wow..girlfriends' name was Linda..I'd have to say 'told you I wasn't just a peepee pants' in the first few years of school I had difficulties with having to go to the washroom all the time, nuns would say 'you were already there 4 or 5 times, so the odd time 'wet' pants...only to find out that I had severe kidney problems and ended up having to be operated on them..have 1/8th of one and 1/4 of the other....still remember the hurt...

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Betty..you forgot to ask a question...tapping my toes here LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

ooops sorry...

what makes you most comfortable in a group of strangers...

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Try to find one person you know and hope that they introduce you to someone you don't know..and then ask a question of that person or give them a compliment to start a conversation going.

If you were given a choice of any vacation spot in the world..where would you go..money no object.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Gardengirl, So glad, I have the same issues, overweight and high cholestrol with a family history of heart disease on both ssides so I need to do those tests too. Do you have ppo and did you have to pay?

I'd probably go to Austria because it looks so green and lush. I think of the Sound of Music.

If you had 15 minutes to say goodbye to someone, who would you call?

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

hello all,

sorry ive not been online but havnt been well. on the mend now tho.

my secret buddy has mail on the way!

i think i would call my dad, i wasnt there when he passed away.

if you could have one 'do over' what would it be?

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Dating my first real boyfriend that kind of made me lose my mind, and myself.

If you could be loved by anyone in the world that does not love you, who would it be?

Laura hope you are better. Is your dd getting big? I thought of my angel the other day when I was grieving so bad about my dog Mushi and I rubbed your angel and said Hi God, Hi guardian Angel.
