It used to be a very nice car. I don't follow racing but I like the movies they make about it. Bonnie Bedelia in Heart Like a Wheel is my favorite.
Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 14
I don't remember the name of where it was we went. But we went quite a lot to watch racing. That echo Sunday Sunday Sunday...Not stock car racing. For that I can stay here, we have a track and racing on Fri. nights all thru the summer. We went and watched Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and there was a lady. Can't think of her name for the life of me. This was...oh...30+ yrs. ago?
We go to a dirt track about 30 minutes from here. We don't make it very often cause we are usually busy or it's too hot but we love it when we do.
What the heck was that ladies name?? Help me please, it's driving me crazy!!
Shirley Muldowney!! That's it! She went head to head with The Snake! Seems her car was pink?
Hi guys, how everyone is as well as possible, and warm. I have been reading all the posts, and trying to keep up, but the last few weeks have been really rough. I think it is finally going to let up a bit, though. The hardest part was Friday, I had to spend the day with Mom, she had bought a car for her boyfriend, and he abandoned it it Wheeling WV when the news broke that there was a warrant for him. It had been impounded, for being abandoned, and a detectives lien was placed on it. She was given the go ahead to pick it Friday (the last day the temporary tag was valid), So we went to the police department, asked about fines against it, made sure the detective's lien had been lifted, and went to the impound yard to pick it up. Thank goodness she had the sense to title it in her name. $110 later, we had the car and were off, first to get gas, because it was about as low as a gas tank can get, and then to get it home. It was really rough on her, but she did it, and kept her composure for the most part.
I'm still upset with her lack of judgment, and her decision to stay with him,. but at least she had the sense to turn him in when he contacted her last week. She is a good person, and would never break the law, she just sees the best in everyone, and really thought that her love for him would turn this guy around. :(( But he is now back in jail, where he belongs, and is facing at least 40 years, not counting the parole violation charges, and the remainder of his last sentence.
Enough of that, I just started a new thread here in the Gen Disc forum to get some input on a memorial tattoo for my nephew.. so feel free to drop in and tell me what you think.... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/810124/
I hope to start posting regularly again tomorrow (today? LOL) since things have calmed down here.
I still don't have my TrailBlazer back, they are saying another week... sigh... I miss my remote starter LOL
Hugs to all,
Janis

Oh, Janis. Sorry you've had so much trouble. Are things at least starting to get back to normal? (I can't spell either. lol) I'll take a look at the link.
I've been considering another tat.
And it's time for a new thread for us.
Good night, everyone and have a better tomorrow, Janis.
